Pixel Art Frustration.. What app have u used successfully?
-
Ok.... I am finding this incredibly frustrating! I have a Samsung Tab E. It is pretty friendly with art applications! However I have yet to find an application that has a 25x25 option!

@Lallyhop what is the one you use?God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.

@DivineDreams,
What I normally do is that I'll make the tattoo on Photoshop or design your own logo type website.
Then after that I follow these steps:
1. Upload picture tattoo (.png/.jpeg, etc.) to this website Lunapic Transparent, then click on the image to make it transparent.
2. Save Image
3. I find that sometimes the image isn't 100% transparent and leaves white streaks around the tattoo. So upload the image to Pixal Art , add a second layer colour it red and move it under the original image. From here colour in the white streaks with the colour of the tattoo. After colouring in the white streaks delete the red layer.
4. Once done, save image
5. Upload image to imgur, and resize it 25x25* pixels and save image
6. Upload the image on the Tattoo Registry
* For the image to be resized to exactly 25x25 px the original image must have an equal/even size (perfect square), e.g. 250x250 px or 178x178 px
I'm also going to post pictures for each step below
Hope this helps,

I actually use a mobile-friendly website - pixilart. https://www.pixilart.com/draw
Works great for all mine :)
Technically my art program, ibispaint, does have a 25x25 option too - it just doesn't have a pixel brush. Pixilart is one pixel at a time (the way I like doing pixel art) and ibispaint would be better for trying to do a brush stroke/making a larger drawing and resizing it.
Both are free, pixilart is the website and ibispaint is an app.ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

Here's a link to a kind of hamfisted tattoo tutorial I put together! It's almost definitely not the most efficient, but hey. Microsoft Paint 3D is pretty easy to work with, and free if you have Windows.

I use MS Paint for the basics, but I also use a free program called Artweaver: https://www.artweaver.de/download-en

What would be the best for a newbie on a desktop?
-
@wendolyne If you are looking directly for pixel-style art, the website I linked is probably the easiest. You won't need to figure out an entire art program for the sake of one type of art. It's a limited program, but it's very good at the one single job it does.
If you're wanting to get more into art in general, I'd suggest starting with a free art program. Microsoft paint is one, as sebeth mentions, and there are others out there, too. Krita and FireAlpaca are two good ones. Just keep in mind that whatever art program you go for will take a little bit of experimentation to get the hang of.ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!
