It's like pulling teeth... literally! (Closed)
  • So I just got a tooth pulled - my back right molar, so I'm gonna be hurting for a while. In light of needing something to distract me, I figured why not throw a contest! Tell me about a time you had to do something difficult but for the better, whether physically, emotionally, or pixel-y! It can be about anything, real life or game related.

All participants will get a random horse from my barns. It might be a show horse, a breeder, bootstrap or even, a foal or older (though I'll keep it under the age of 14). Just comment your ID number, your favorite gene, and your story. :)
ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.

  • I absolutely love to peel dead skin off me and my family backs when one of use gets sun burned! Something about it is just so satisfying and relaxing. I especially love it when they come off in stripes or in big patches. But I also love it when they flake off! The bigger the area and the more skin to peel the better! Although I ain't the gentlest when it comes to it. My family always kept telling me "ow" and "that hurts" or "easy!" Lol! But I mean I don't blame them i peeled them down to the new burnt skin... wether they liked it or not. I could never really do it to myself cause of the fact that I do that but there were times I did and owwwww. It hurt let me tell you. I still kinda do all this to this day. It's just there's nobody to do it to sadly. (Lol) I miss picking off dead brunt skin off my family. Is that a weird thing to say? It doesn't bother me.

My favorite gene is honestly a tie up between Watercolor and Wrong Warp. I can't decide so you'll have to do it for me. Don't have the licences but man do I just look and look and look at them beauties! ID# 48701.

I also hope I didn't gross anybody out or make me seem like a weird freak...

My favourite genes are pearl,SNF and kp
In the game I had to do a full barn Cleanout because i had way to many horses so i cleaned out my barns leaving only three lines pearl, KP, SNF and satin as a side project it was definitely for the better but it hurt to do it

  • 39331– my fav genes are Axiom, Nexus, Warp, Chinchilla, Watercolor and Nacre..

I broke my ankle bailing off my horse. I had just graduated from X-ray school 2 months before. I was non weightbaring for 3 months. The day after Christmas I had 2 pins removed, though I still have a plate and 4 screws. I had a phone interview on Christmas Eve for a job. Got a call on Jan 3 that I got the job. I wasn’t even officially released from the surgeon and cleared to work 40 hours a week when I packed up my life and moved from Michigan to Oklahoma City for a job... it was probably the hardest thing I had done to that point bc I had no one in OKC... my whole family, my horses, everyone and everything was 15 hours away...

  • 39955-i like all fantasy genes and kitM is lovely :) (I really love most genes!)
I broke a tooth on one of those sugar beads and finally enough came off the tooth and exposed the nerve. So I got my tooth fixed without enough lidocaine to even touch numbing the nerve because it's not safe for the babies. Sad to say he only used bonding so itll need to be redone, have a root canal, or extracted after the babies are here
  • Annnddd I just realized (it's nighttime here) that you said something difficult. Not Painful to you or others...wow. Don't mind me sitting feeling stupid knowing everybody knows I like peeling off dead burnt skin...
  • 41431- I like Nexus, Kit M and Blue Roans.

Well last October I dislocated my knee getting into my car. Yah not my proudest moment. I was 40 miles from my house, and the rest of my family had left town for a trip earlier that day. So I limped into the house, and proceeded to almost fall down the stairs while trying to get to my room. Besides my knee causing me horrible pain, it was severely unstable and would give out randomly. Luckily I had a doctors appointment the next day. So me and the doctor talked after deciding I hadn’t broken anything he suggested doing Physical therapy before doing a MRI, so I did PT for November into December. But my Knee refused to get better. So the doctor ordered a MRI. The MRI showed that I had stretched a ligament out to the point it was no longer supporting my knee properly. Now I had a hard decision... do surgery and live with the complications it could cause. Or go without possibly never be able to trust my knee again. I did the surgery; and spent a month in a straight leg brace. If I bent my knee once it would undo the surgery’s work. Then I spent February slowly regaining motion in my knee, as well as muscle. I continued doing PT well into April, but I loathed stairs until June because of pain. That’s 9 months of recovery until I was mostly pain free. I’m still working on regaining body strength, and if I do too much activity I still have pain. I’m glad I did the surgery, but it’s really bad when all of that process is because my 18 year old self got into my car wrong...
  • 48981- love chinchillas
I recently had to say goodbye (for now) to my sister who moved across state (originally from far north California, moved all the way to the farthest southern part of Cali). We were very close in age and spirit, did everything together, and were literally never apart for more than a week the entire 19 years we’ve been together. I hugged her tight before she left, but all the while knew there was nothing I could do to keep her. It was the longest 4 hour drive back home, crying the whole way.

Starting jui jitsu has been my super hard thing. It's done great things for me. Holy hell, my core is amazing. Within a week of starting, my riding instructor already noticed my posture had improved. It's given me more self defense skills - you don't have to worry about your ability to punch someone if you can put them in an armlock without thinking. But it has been so so hard. I'm not very good at it. Just due to the nature of the sport you "fail" - tapping out, getting submitted - so many times while learning. It's really hard to go from a world where everyone must be perfect, failing is bad, why are you giving up to a world where getting submitted is just another day. It's been such a mental struggle to reshape how I view failure and success as much as it's been a physical challenge.

At present I am nearing the end of my 10 week "couch to 5k" running. I was probably about 40lbs overweight and the first few runs I couldn't manage 1 minute let alone the 45 mins I was going to have to run non-stop. I stuck to the program through-out the autumn/winter here (in the cold and rain) 3 x every week and I can now manage 30 minutes of running without a break and have lost nearly 20lbs. I still have bad days when I can only manage 10 minutes or so and I still have a way to go, but I am getting there.
I feel for you with your tooth as I take out teeth for a living (sorry).
Oh and @Wolvevenfrosst - that is gross, although strangely, I know what you mean :D
  • 47805, fave gene is snowflake or kitm appy.
    Hardest........well my whole life honestly,
2 years old lost my mom to cancer, at five i lost my grandmother, never knew my real dad so my grandfather raised me and later adopted me.
By the time i was 16 i had been pronounced dead 5 times almost died 25 by now and im 24 years old lol. All of this was all my fault by the way hunting deer from horse back and getting stabbed by a deer, then shattered my knee in cross country and having to put my best friend to sleep bc she broke both front legs and her neck. Then 5 years ago had to have a emergency c-section to deliver my son 5 weeks early and sit in nicu for 4 weeks hopen he would be ok all bc i had kidney failure and the dr had no clue. Then figured out my kidney was dien from a stone that was as big as my kidney and turned septic from retaining fluids.
Now im healthy and loven life getting by day by day my husband lost his job 4 months ago so its been hard but thanks to family and my barn family we are ok and getting by.
There is so much more i could add or say but the forum isnt long enough lol

Definitely one of the most difficult things I've done is my black belt grading in karate. It's a three full day test where they literally try to exhaust you so completely so that they can see whether, even exhausted to the point of brainlessness, you know your stuff so innately that you can do it anyway, without thought or energy. It's so brutal that every morning you wake up you can barely move because your muscles have seized up so badly from overwork. I spent several full days afterwards just lying in bed too sore to make myself move again lol.
  • 20418- Favorite gene.. is there a such thing?? I like Snowflake, Kit M, and Splash M.

One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was give my horse away. When I was 15 I had finally got a horse after years of begging. I kept her at a neighbor's place cuz we only had an acre. I spent every spare moment with my horse either riding, grooming, or just hanging out. I think I had her about a year when my neighbor said he didnt want her on his property any more. :( She stayed in our yard for a month or so but our place was just too small for a big horse. So I had to give her away. I asked that if they ever wanted to place her they let us have the first option to get her back of course you know how that goes. They sold her and I never saw her again other than one visit.

On the bright side. That started my love affair with minis cuz I saw somewhere online where an acre was perfect for a pair of minis. Now I have my own 10 acre farm and 14 of the little loves with one on the way.. :)
  • Thanks for all the stories! Everyone, your horses are up in my chat for you! Please only pick up the one with your name on it!
