I am going to make a SERIOUS effort to NOT use as much Hajinc slang!

I remember that one of the major reasons I didn't play HJ for a long time was the fact that I could not understand what so many of the forum posts were about! Who did that survey/paper on the HJ community (and what grade did you get, by the way?!)? Several people commented that the abbreviations and slang made the forum, unintentionally, less welcoming to new players.

I'm not sure how we could encourage each other to keep things easier for new people to understand, but I plan to push people in the beginners barn to Keep it Simple! On my own posts I'm going to try my best to be more clear, and ask people to point it out if I start to speak too much Hajinc!

What kind of HJ resolutions will YOU make!?

What I good idea! I will try to "watch my language" in the Beginners Barn and here on the forum too.

I will do the same, and will especially remember to soften some of the genetic specific language as well, or at least to explain the terms before using them. Thanks for suggesting this.

My new years resolution is to spend no real cash (or at least very very little) on shiny genes. Just tallied what I spent this month, and I should NOT have done that :O

A wonderful idea! I do try to remember to explain things in the beginner's barn but I know my hajinc escapes me!

I know we use it in the forum because it's faster and easier, of course, and no need to explain how DP works every time I try to sell a horse with it, but I think I'll also try to at least point out, for example, how I know the horse has it? Hmm, we'll see! The beginner's barn is definitely a good starting point though!

My New Years resolution is NO new shiny genes for a while (months). My bank account needs to recover a little first. When I logged into it, I heard whimpering noises, LOL.

My New Years resolution is saving up for the blue axioms and watercolor :x i couldn't buy them this year but hopefully get something next year :D and for me irl i'm hoping to lose weight and get a lil skinny :D i want to ride a horse again!

Lol @ Maribo, my bank cards have set themselves on fire in protest. That should help with the "no spending money on the game" thing at least :)

My resolution this year after February is to ONLY Buy Show Ponies or breed fail ones and to ONLY Breed Intact Horses. Other than that I can't buy anything except 210 stall barns which is 875,000 hbs. And also to get Minimum of these closed genes; Watercolor, Wrong Warp, and Chinchilla before next real life years end. Maaaaybe Macchiato and Plaid. But those are last on the list right now. And if I somehow manage to get all those genes then Ice 10 and 13. All in that order. Im really going to challenge myself this year even though I just joined in November. Lol.

My 2019 HAJ goals are to
-Have a true-breeding line of normal Nexus horses
-Buy All the Axiom colors, as well as Watercolor and Wrong Warp
-Have a true-breeding satin line
-Get membership again
-Get more barns

I feel your pain.

I haven't heard from my bank account since Christmas, when I went to check on it there were signs of a struggle. It is considered missing and presumed dead. :-SS

I am hoping all my shiny new boys will last me through until at least summer when, if Ammit puts on a similar all gene sale event, I will break into Watercolour.
If Ammit releases any new genes I am in big trouble! LOL!

My biggest resolution is to get organized and stay organized.
I want to focus on breeding up my own lines (aka making the most of those boys I spent all my money on), being strict about it, and stop picking up every shiny pony I see that is just going to end up languishing in my already packed barns.

Mine is to buy no "old" closed genes unless it's axiom green

Also, I’m going to work on being responsible with Money and practice for real life. Finish projects I started, but try not to get any more. Barns then projects! Well actually barns with geldings, then projects...

My card is crying as well.

Mine is to save enough ivs to renew at least 3 of my basics, purchase a pasture for this account, and merge a minimum of 2 accounts. Heaven help me if Ammit releases another new gene I fall in love with.
