Secret Santa Info

Alright Peeps! I'm hearing whispers of SS already. Umm, you all realize that it isn't even November yet (at least for me it isn't quite). I believe SS info/forms were sent out on Dec. 1st of last year, so you guys have a whole month of waiting to do yet, (insert cackle)! But when the time comes, I do plan to organize it again (if the SS boss allows me to). So keep your eyes open & hang in there!#110Thanked by 1MoonAcre Stables

I think the normal was post info up in Nov and assignments sent out early Dec.

I just checked back on fb messages, and the info posts were up on Dec 2nd. & assignments sent out on Dec. 14th. What are your thoughts? Should this be up & running earlier then what was done last year?#110

Info posts after Thanksgiving (because Christmas can't start til Thanksgiving is over, thank you very much retail stores!). But having a little more than 10 days to get together presents wouldn't go amiss...I remember spending a lot of time on the forums last season because it did feel a little rushed to get everyone's presents ready to go (I was a SS participant and also sold a lot of stock as presents for other people, so there was a lot of PMing with secret santas and then PMing with recipients...).Thanked by 1EccentricEquines

It was always more time in the past. This has been going on for some 8 years. Waiting till December for the first post I think just makes too much of a scramble.
Also I already have most of my Christmas decorations up. :P

Well ok then! We will start right after your Thanksgiving, I have 0 problem with that. I was just going by what happened last year :D#110

I am with you Ammit! I have a huge Christmas Village to set up at my house, I already have the foam cut for mountains and the river. That has always been done before Thanksgiving when I was growing up. The rest is the weekend of Thanksgiving. I also remember some SS's getting a hold of me before the recipients were reveled. A, 'just in case' on some popular gene horses that I had.

Can someone explain how this works. Do we use the hijink bucks or are we putting and using our own money for this?
-
There are generally two divisions. One of them is for people who want to spend only hajibucks and has an upper limit for spending (you can spend less, but not more than the limit). The other one allows players more leeway. We select which division we enter based on our game bank balances, usually.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

@ best, I always do a combination of both. But, either way is fine. We wait until EE posts about it here on the forum. She will explain how each division works. Sometimes EE will head one division, and someone else heads the other division. I think last year EE may have done both divisions. But, when it posts here you can sign up for which one you want to enter in a PM to your division leader, with a list of what your favorites are, and what is not your preference. Then on a certain day, the head of your division will let you know who your recipient is, and what they have on their list. Then the fun begins! Gathering all the gift goodies for your recipient.

Ok then I will be patient and wait.
