FF gene help
-
RS DarkStorm FF NB
She has way to much white. I like to really see more liver. Im not sure what to cut. I like her to lose the big appy spots to. If possible. Thank -
If she doesn’t have snowflake, it means she is just varnishing out like a lot of Appaloosas do. The only way to really fix it would be to remove the Appaloosa.
-
She has SnowFlake. I added 2 to her.
-
i think the only way to reduce the white/varnish from the snowflake is to remove one of the copies of LP to make her a blanket appy vs a leopard. But either way, snowflake is a version of varnish and will white the horse out over time
-
Here is a search of my snowflake horses, as you go through them you can see how the older they get, the more they lose their color. It’s just how snowflake works.

I was going to say remove one of the LP and make WF: none. But a quick search of my own herd tells me that's not fool proof either.ID# 24891

Thanks guys.

Just remove one of the Lp's, homozygous LP is fewspot, so yes mostly white. Having one Lp won't make big spots without patn1 I don't think
-
Your mare is so white due to the snowflake & her age.
Here is my stud with almost identical genes. He will white out like your mare as he gets older.
