Preferences I love brindles, but like them all
At Thanksgiving we always have all the traditional favorites, but about 20 years ago I added a double layer pumpkin pie that my family, especially my husband just loves. It has been a family favorite for the holidays since the first year I made it.
It is a simple pie to make and requires no cooking, although it requires guarding around my house to keep grownup fingers out of it lol
If you would like to give it a try, here is the recipe

Preference of Prizes: Still building my first herd, so I'm more excited by good show ponies than fancy things to breed, but either of the Silver Pocket Watches or Calm Before (Storm Warning) are gorgeous.
Theme Entry:
Stuffing. Oh my gosh, my family's stuffing. There is a battle every year for the stuffing. When speaking to my professor and mentor from Spain about how excited I was for Thanksgiving, she told me she didn't understand Americans and their stuffing. "It's just bread, isn't it?"
Oh no, I told her. The stuffing you get in restaurants and the dinning hall is poorly seasoned croutons. Not my family's.
Buy a loaf of bread the week before Thanksgiving. Shred it into the roasting pan, cover with a towel, leave it to get stale. Day of Thanksgiving: First you take a pound of bacon and cook it up. One slice tax for the cook. The rest gets crumbled into the bread. In the bacon fat, fry up one onion and six or so stalks of celery. Add to bread. Slice can of water chestnuts, add to bread. Measure out 1...1.5...2 cups of pecans, slice, add to bread. Add gratuitous amounts of poultry seasoning. Moisten gently with chick stock. You don't want it wet, or else you'll lose your efforts of stale-ing the bread. Just damp enough to clump slightly. Stuff bird. (Excess goes into sidecar casserole dish. Add extra stock, cook when bird is done roasting.) That beautiful, bacony, crunchy goodness will absorb juices from the bird as it cooks. Top with gravy. yum yum.
She asked if she could come with me for dinner.Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

Food! I love food. Don’t we all? I actually quite enjoy baking, now that I’m an adult and live alone I like to treat myself to home made goodies whenever I have the time.
I’m rather careful with money, just working a casual job, and I’m inherently bad at choosing gifts for people on their birthday/Christmas. (I already feel bad for whoever I get in Secret Santa!)
My family have thankfully embraced my recent endeavour to gift people with baked goods instead of purchases. So far I’ve made white chocolate and salted caramel cookies for both my sisters, double chocolate muffins and Anzac biscuits for my brother, and my 4yo nephew got jam drops for his birthday a week ago. It makes me happy and I think they all enjoy the treat as well :)Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

Food theme:
I have a couple recipes that are passed down from generation in my family on my mom's side. The old fashioned stuffing recipe which you can add variation to suit your taste. But the best of all is the secret plum pudding recipe and brown sauce. Which is so delicious and moist (if steamed properly)and the sauce you have double the amount of. Mmm,can't wait til Christmas for these with the turkey and all the fixings.:)

One of my favorite things to make around Christmas is homemade turtle candies, they take a bit of time to make but are well worth it!
https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/pecan-delights/
Or for those people who can't eat nuts homemade chocolate truffles are a great option too, again they take a bit of time to make. We change up the favouring in these and have used peppermint extract, orange extract, dark rum (or rum flavouring), coffee, raspberry flavouring, basically if it goes with chocolate it works! And one batch is big enough to make a variety of flavors so just divide up the chocolate mixture and go wild!

One of my favorite things about my group of roommates this year is that the five of us come from three different countries. At any given time, the Mexican missionary kid might be cooking beans, the Korean exchange student might be cooking tofu or ramen, or the Midwesterner might be baking a casserole. The kitchen always smells so good! It's certainly a challenge cooking at college. Our dorm is scheduled for remodeling next summer and the appliances are sketchy to say the least (last week the oven handle just... fell off and the 30-year-old vacuum disintegrated into a pile of rusty screws) but sharing food and recipes has become a way for us to learn from and bond with each other.ID# 43830

Mulled wine! This was something I never heard of until moving to the UK.
Bottle of red wine
2 or 3 cinnamon sticks
1/4 cup brandy
Other spices - nutmeg, star anise, cloves, whatever you like. Preferably whole but you can stir in ground if that's all you can find.
Couple of tablespoons of brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey.
1 orange sliced into rounds
Simmer in a pan or a crock pot for at least 15 minutes, or up to 3 or 4 hours. Don't let it boil! :)

It took me a bit to figure out what to post about as I'm not much of a cook, self taught and still learning. Then I remembered that my best friend still to this day gives me crap about how I cooked (reheated) chicken while in college. So if you are familiar with the Tyson precooked frozen chicken strips, the bag gives you microwave and stove top instructions. Now most college dorms don't have stoves and hot plates are banned. I wasn't particularly skilled with the George Foreman, so that left me with the microwave. Let me also say that I am not from a cooking family which is why what little I can cook and bake is self-taught. When she saw me making the chicken one day, she had a mini freak out and couldn't understand why I would "cook" chicken in the microwave. And apparently the bag says so and not knowing another way to heat chicken in a dorm room was not an acceptable reason. So yeah.... I try not to make chicken that way anymore but when in a pinch, what's a girl to do?Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

What better day to enter than on a day that many people consider all about the food! Okay fine, not all about food but it sure plays a huge role in many peoples gatherings here in the US. ;) I don't have a recipe to share but instead just want to say that food is one of those great things that connects all people. I personally love trying new and different foods, especially when traveling. If you get the chance to branch out and try something you haven't before, do it! You may just find that you really like it.ID: 40723Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

My absolute favorite books! Oh how you got to read these 7 books!
The first is my absolute Fav! The Maze Runner series! If you've seen the, I'm sorry (wrongly done movies) and loved it well read the books and you'll then find out all of the action, thrill, and main events your missing out on. If you don't know the books well your missing out! They were done by James Dashner. The books are about mainly boy teenagers, the main being Thomas. They are stuck in a maze with deadly creatures called Grievers. They are test subjects to find the cure, in a building owned by a company called W.I.C.K.E.D. When they meet someone new from the box, things start to happen and their epic journey begins! They journey to abandon city's run by Cranks. Cross casts desserts. Lose and gain friends. Fly epic machines! Fight epic battles! Get taken under control. Find the truth of their existence. Escape harrowing danger! And in the end finding home? Read there journey in the books to find out who made it to the end and what happened. Don't wanna spoil it for you guys so I gave a epic summary. Just kidding, lol. But really go read his books there what made me love reading in the first place. Used to hate reading until I read these books. They are as follows; The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, and The Death Cure. There are three or four other books I'm sure. But one is the next one in line and that is, The Kill Order. Hope you read them sometime!
Next is Possessed and Consumed by Kate Cann. They are a story of a girl called Rayne (I think that's her name). She finds a job at an old stone mansion that hides more than meets the eye. She meets people who she needs to decide weather to trust or not and learns about a hidden magic. She finds that there are people who want to create something... something powerful and strong. She finds that their are hidden secrets all over that the owner doesn't want her to know. She finds love and heartbreak. Follow her journey as she gets to find out who she is, who to trust, if she finds love, who's responsible for the destruction around the mansion, and if they stop the danger in time?
Next is called Unwind. Cant remember the author but the cover is the shadow of a hand that looks like it's behind the glass of a door. It's about these kids running from society and police in fear of being "unwinded". The story focuses on Levi, Rayne, and Connor. Levi is a "Tith" (I think that's how it's spelled?). A person who was born just to be unwinded. But, in an accident were all meet but don't know it, he is told to escape until he blacks out. Rayne was in an orphanage but they ran out of room and decided to get rid of her and they put her on a bus. Connor was a failure in school so his parents decided to get rid of him and he caused the accident that started their journey. The group of them meet and separate time and time again. Running and fighting and finding out their purpose in life. They get caught and escape. Helping or ruining others along the way. In the end, do they make it or not? Find out for yourselves and what "unwinding" means.
Next is A Confusion Of Prince's by Garth Nix. Its a story about a man who was chosen as a prince of the galaxy as a baby. This galaxy has many prince's and only one Emperor, who controls all. He is assigned an assassin to help him in his journey to becoming the Emperor. They meet many dangers and he dies many a times. Each time gaining more respect and honor. But along the way he has a challenge to do and finds out about mortals, humans. He finds a girl who he helps to get her home and in return gets him home and finds that life as a mortal human suits him more than an Emperor. But becoming the Emperor is all he's ever dreamed about. Through his story he is fighting himself about who he is and who he wants to be. In his last fight to becoming Emperor, will he choose to be the king he's always wanted to be or choose something he only had a little taste of? Find out if being the Emperor is really all that he wanted.
Next is Shades Children by Garth Nix, lol. This story is about a "guy" who hides and helps out young kids and teens in a world taken over by Overlords. The story focuses on a teen named Gold-Eye. He meets up with his soon to be friends Ella, Drum, and Nina. Who all have escaped the dreaded facilities where kids and teens are bred and transformed into monsters that aid the Overlords in doing their deads. They band together and find out the truth about their saviour and how to defeat the Overlords. But along the way they gain and loose many people. Trust is shattered between everybody and things take a dark turn. Through epic battles and close calls, do they save their beloved planet, or perish like so many before them. Find out at the Heart shattering end of the book and if our hero's make it.
Next is Nightmare by I can't remember. The cover is purple mostly and has a girls face with some forest scenery behind her. Been so long like the others so going to try my best. It's a story about a girl going through tough times in school. So her parents send her to this academy where they help students going through a rough time. She knows there's nothing wrong with her except that she has a reoccurring nightmare that's been going on and troubles her deeply. During that time there she discovers that somebody wants to kill her as a friend of hers got her hair dyed like hers and almost paid the price with her life. The rest of the time there, she and her newfound friends must find clues and solve the case to find the wannabe killer. Find out if she or her friends solve the case and find out who it is, or do they all pay the price...
Last but not least is Rotten. By ummm... something Michael? Anyways the cover has a Rottweilers neck and a red collar with the dog tag saying the name Rotten. The story is of a teen boy who just came back from being at his "grandmas house" to find that his mom got a Rottweiler dog in need of love and a family to trust as his previous owner was abusive. He hates the dog and wishes he'd just go away. During his time back home his friends get suspicious if his past and about his new dog. One of his friends tries to pet the dog and get bit. His friend sues him and he now must find a way to prove his now loved dog innocent to save his life. He finds friends to help him in his case, but will it be enough to save his now beloved dog? Find out if he saves his dog or loses him forever...
And that's it! So sorry for this ridiculously long post but I really, really, really want people to read these books! They are so great! If you don't love reading, you certainly will after reading any one of these books! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I wish I could read them all over again and get that feeling again. Please check these books out, out won't regret it!Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

Preference of Prizes: New genes REALLY appeal to me. Like, really. I'd be over the moon if I got one of those. Alternatively HBs are also always great and I could definitely use a candy pony.
I love remembering my cat Moo. I just saw a cat on Instagram that looked just like him the other day and it brought him to mind. He was black and white, with big yellow eyes. When we got him as a kitten he was so tiny for his age, but not just miniature - his legs and ears seemed shorter than usual as well. He was so adorable. When he grew into a teenager cat, his legs and ears made up for all the lost time and became very long! He was still adorable! He was so chill - anytime there were people around, he was probably laying around somewhere very close, just being cool and hanging out. One time he was on the porch, which was about waist level for me where I was standing, and he walked over to me, patted my hand with his paw, then swiped his head to tell me to pet him! Sadly he was hit by a car not long after but he was a very special boy and lives on in my memories. I've had many cats but he really stands out - he was just one of those good ones that comes along every once in a while.ID: 16853Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

When I was a teenager, my family lived in Saudi Arabia. My dad worked for the American school in Dhahran. We lived in a compound for westerners. The people living there were mostly American, but there were some people from Europe, the middle east and India, too. It was great going to school with all those kids from around the world. But the school stopped in 9th grade, so for high school we all had to go overseas to boarding schools. Being from a small town in the midwest, this was not our family tradition, but I toughed it out because I knew my parents wanted to continue working in Dhahran.
We students did, however, get to fly back to Dhahran at Christmas. It made Christmas so special, because we really missed our family and friends. My mom used to cry with happiness when she met me at the airport. Before that, I didn't know that crying could be a sign of overwhelming happiness, too.
The Christmas celebrations were mostly in people's homes, and rather quiet. We did put lights on our houses, but you could only do that in our compound. The Saudi government frowned on Christian celebrations. Our Saudi friends were very confused by the holiday. Their imams told them that we foolishly worshipped our decorated trees, so we had to carefully explain that wasn't the case. The whole aspect of celebrating Christmas as an "underground religion" of sorts was rather surreal. But looking back, I think I liked it better than the over commercialized way we celebrate it here in the states!Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

Well, my story is short, but has a bit of history that is important to me. I have always been outdoorsie. As a kid, I was always outside in the mud. My dad got me hooked on both hunting and fishing at an early age. I'd go out hunting with him, my uncle and my grandpa even before I was old enough to actually hunt. We have pics of me as a 2 year old fishing with dad. Last week, my family and I (mom, dad, brother and husband) went on a vacation to Florida. One thing I really wanted to do was go deep sea fishing. I'm from Montana, so it's a little tough to do that here :). My dad, my husband and I got to go. We rode out on the boat with a few others, learned how to hook fish in the ocean (which is much different from what I was used to doing) and we got the lines in the water. I hooked one almost immediately, then another, then a third. When I called "fish on!" the third time, my dad looks at my husband and says "next time she says that, cut her line.) We all had a good laugh (and no, that's not the first time he's said that). The three of us had a great day (no seasickness, can't say the same for a few of the others). We caught the most fish of everyone on the boat (21). We got them cleaned on the dock and took them to a restaurant that the captain of our fishing boat recommended and had them cook the fish for us. We were joined by my mom, brother and my aunt. It was fun and oddly satisfying to know that we had caught enough to feed 6 people very well and had a great time (and got a great story) doing it. I'll always credit my dad with giving me a love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing along with the ideals for proper management of said outdoors to ensure that generations from now, others can have the same experiences that I have come to love.

Preference of Prizes: Still building my first herd, so I'm more excited by pointed and/or high PT show ponies than fancy things to breed, but either of the Silver Pocket Watches or Calm Before (Storm Warning) are gorgeous. Alternatively, a blue or higher papered mare with limited white for breeding.
Stories - not many to tell from my life, but I will share my all-time favorite author, Terry Pratchett. My first Terry Pratchett work I ever read was Good Omens, which he co-wrote with Neil Gaiman (another excellent introduction). My sister had picked it up at the used book store, and it sat unread on her shelf for years before I started raiding her books. I...errr...liberated Good Omens, and it probably changed my life. In addition to his Discworld series, he has several standalone sci-fi books and an alternative history book about critical thinking and growing up. It's called "Nation" and while it's technically written for young adults, it's possibly the most meaningful thing I've read in the past five years.
Top Five Terry Pratchetts, that can be read without any understanding of his other books:
Nation (stand alone, coming of age story)
Going Postal (Discworld, Moist Von Lipwig)
Good Omens (Pre-apocalyptic story)
Small Gods (Discworld, stand alone character)
Wee Free Men (Discworld, Tiffancy Aching)
Nightwatch it my all time favorite, but as it involves time travel and had a well-beloved character visiting the twenty-year-younger versions of other characters, it's best read with a couple of Discworld novels under your belt.

Themed Entry-Story Time: I first met my biological fathers family when I was visiting colleges when I was still in high school. As my mother and I were driving through town she said "Some of your dads family used to live up here- Would you like to see where your great grandma used to live?" I said sure and so we drove through a small neighborhood until we pulled up to a house. My mother said "I bet she still lives here do you want to find out?" I said "Why not what can it hurt?" Si I got out of the car and walked up to the door and knocked. A dog started barking and out came this tiny little Mexican lady with red hair and drawn on eyebrows. "Who are you and what do you want?" She demanded. So I explained who I was. That i Was the daughter of my father who was the son of his mother who was the daughter of the person I was looking for. "We don't know anyone like that" she said before slamming the door closed. So I began to walk down stairs. All of a sudden the door flew open "Wait, Wait, Wait I know who you are now," She proclaimed. And thats how I met my great grandma and great aunt.Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

I love telling people the story how my dog Pip came into my life. On the 20th of December last year, I was looking through dogs on Gumtree (a reselling website in Australia). Ever since my dog Juno had been put down on December 11th; the day before my birthday; I’d been checking Pet Rescue and animal shelters waiting for my next best friend to jump out at me. As I scrolled through pages advertising puppies for sale for thousands of dollars, I came across a picture of a hairy little dog that was listed as looking for a new home for $250. When I saw that she was in a town less than an hour away from me, I contacted the owner and organised to meet the little dog when I was in the area the next day.
As discussed, I messaged the owner and asked if it was still possible to go and meet the dog. I checked my phone obsessively for hours but sadly never got a reply. Eventually it was time to head home and I had to come to terms with the fact that she must have sold the dog already and failed to notify me. Sure enough, a few days later the ad expired on Gumtree and I had to accept that it wasn’t meant to be.
I managed to somewhat enjoy my Christmas, but couldn’t get that little dog’s face out of my mind. I could buy a puppy from a breeder but it didn’t feel right spending so much money. I wanted to adopt but there never seemed to be young small-breed female dogs available anywhere. I was pretty dejected and felt very alone. I’d wanted a puppy for so long and felt that surely it would solve all my problems and make life that little bit happier.
On December 28th, I was out shopping with mum and my sister during the sales. In the car I complained to mum about how I never even got a chance to meet the little hairy dog, and had been so sure that she was the one. Browsing the clothes racks later that day, I got a message on my phone; it was the woman on Gumtree asking if I was still interested in her puppy. I’ve never felt so frantic! I replied that I was extremely interested but in another city at the time and could she hold the dog until that afternoon? I didn’t want to risk missing out again.
It was another hour before we left the shops, and instead of mum dropping me back home to my own car, she offered to drive us all straight to Ipswich to meet the dog together. I withdrew some cash from a servo (just in case) and found the address. Nobody answered when we knocked on the door, and the woman wouldn’t answer her phone! I walked around the house and there on a cluttered verandah was this cute little dog. She barked at me, but not in a nasty way. Eventually the lady came out and led us through the house. The poor little pup was shy but took a liking to mum and even let me pick her up.
After a quick discussion with mum, I decided to take a chance and offered the lady $100 to take the dog then and there. She gave me a bag of toys and puppy food, and all of a sudden I’d bought myself a dog! Her name was Britt and she’d never been vaccinated or microchipped or been around many people. I knew I had to change her name as it was the same as my grandma’s name which just wouldn’t do, but it had to sound similar. So Pip sat on my lap all the way home and I knew she was the one for me.
It’s been a great first year together. She brought me back from a dark place. Right now I’m lying on my bed with Pippi curled up beside me and I wouldn’t rather have anyone else next to me! She comes to work with me and we go to agility foundations dog training every week. She’s fit right in with the family and loves it when I take her out to visit mum’s dogs at the farm. One day I hope to get her DNA tested so I can stop telling people she’s a terrier mutt every time they ask! On December 28 I’ll be throwing Pip an Adoptaversary party, because she’s such a special part of my life <3Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

Two of my all time favourite books are 'The Road to Winter' and 'Wilder Country' a series written by Mark Smith, with the third instalment coming out early next year. The story follows a young teenage boy surviving in a post apocalyptic Australia that has been ravaged by a fatal disease, where he faces threats of an ever growing gang known as the Wilders, finds love, friends, and a makeshift family. It's a really bad attempt of mine at a blurb/summary of both books, but I highly recommend you read these books (I'm not exactly sure if they are available outside of Australia).
Another favourite of mine is 'Taronga', another post apocalyptic Australia novel by Victor Kelleher. A bleak but compelling look at the future beyond the nuclear holocaust. Ben comes upon Taronga Zoo, which seems unaffected by the general chaos. But is it? It's a really good book as Ben (protagonist) also has an ability to telepathically control animals, a power which is abused by those in control of Taronga Zoo, however Ben struggles to control a Tiger.
A couple other books I read as a kid that I really enjoyed were 'The Warrior Novels' by Erin Hunter, 'Horse Crazy!
The Complete Adventures of Bonnie and Sam' by Alison Lester, 'The Spirit Animal' Series, The 'Harry Potter Series' By J.K Rowling, 'The Hunger Games Series' By Suzanne Collins, and 'Breath' By Tim Winton

Seeing as I've previously mentioned some of my favorite books, how about I share to the world for the first time the prologue to the book I've been writing off and on for the past 5 years or so? Forgive me for any poor grammar and mixed tones, I'm still trying to figure a few things out and haven't done many editing passes...also life has gotten in the way. :P
He groggily opens his eyes, taking in the dim space around him. The cell is simple. A monotone grey, the corners nearly black. Its furnishings limited to a steel bed covered with a thin mattress, a steel table and a very uncomfortable looking chair. A voice reaches out to him from the darkest corner. A voice that he knows well and could never forget. He vowed years ago that he would never hear that voice again.
“So what did you do to land yourself here with Interpol?” an Italian woman's voice asks.
“Got caught moving stuff for the wrong people. Happens sometimes in my job,” he says taking himself back in time to the cover he had built to work with this organization. “Didn’t know I would need to come back to Paris for the people I work for now.”
The figure moves out of the shadows and leans against a chair in the cell. “Well lucky me then. I figured you were gone for good after those Americans bailed you out of here last time. Where are they now?...Or are they the reason you are stuck in here with me?” She asks in a slightly pouty and sultry tone.
“They won’t come looking for me. At least not yet. If they do come, it won’t be pretty for anyone.”
“So what is your plan, sit around and wait for them here?”
“You have a better option?”
“We could walk out of this building in five minutes and the guards will not remember you were even here.”
“What’s the catch?”
“Once we are on the outside, I need you to retrieve something for me. It will not be easy. Probably will not be safe.” She stands and walks to the cell door. With her hand resting on the handle she adds, “Could land you more time in here.”
Thane stands, uncertain of the deal this woman is offering. “What am I bringing you? Any payment other than my temporary freedom?”
She opens the door and walks out. Thane knows she means for him to follow. His instincts scream at him to go after her and it is only a moment before he does, exactly as she planned. Jogging down two hallways to catch up with his new employer, he asks, “How do I know this isn’t a trap? I remember how well you liked to spin them up.”
She continues leading Thane out of the building without a word. Once the pair are in the alley, she turns and faces him. The woman shows Thane a photograph, “I want this. Preferably alive, dead works if you must.”
About to part ways, the woman offers one last condition. “If your task is not completed by the end of the month, you will have more to worry about than those Americans. That much I can promise.” Her last words hang in the air as she disappears into the night.
“No good luck then.” Thane mutters as he wraps his jacket around his body and heads in the opposite direction. He soon finds himself atop an abandoned building, looking out at the Parisian skyline. It is his favorite place to think and make plans in this city. But tonight his only thought is not a pleasant one.
The clock is ticking. Time is running out. But for who?Thanked by 1RoseFlute -

My favorite book as a kid was "Into the Land of the Unicorns", sounds REALLY childish, but it wasn't really. I would reread it again every 3-4 years. But then I made the mistake of lending it to a friend. The rest of the boxes of books were "giveaways" but I couldn't expect her to remember the one book I wanted back.
I also LOVE the ranger's apprenctice series. Especially the original series. I don't like the parellel series as much. But its also a series I reread every few years. The horses are neat, and no ridiculous horsemanship. Author at least did some research.
Percy Jackson series is also AMAZING. But, the parelles series I don't like as much because its Percy Jackson that I love so much. If believe if I was a demigod I would be a daughter of Poseidon. I LOVE horses, and I LOVE swimming. Doesn't hurt that he is a very powerful God.
The Eragon series is also very good. First few times I read it paper version. Then I listened to it on Audiobook. SO frustrating that on the LAST CD my car decided that it wouldn't read CD's anymore.
Another favorite is the Divergent series. I love a tough girl series! Sometimes I wonder what could be switched around in the story to make it better... I came to the conclusion that the Candor people should be the government.... Just an idea...
All of those so far have been teen/young adult, but if you would prefer something more mature Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. The one that starts with One for the Money. Those never get old. We normally listen to those when we go for horse shows.
Another good audio book one is the Robert Langdon series... I forget what they are called...
If you want something that isn't as well known, on Amazon there is a set of 5 books for like 2$ or something for a digital version called the Cadicle series. They were an addiction for over a week. About 24 hours of non-stop reading (if you could nonstop read that long)Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.Thanked by 1RoseFlute -
Hey All! I'm ending this Thursday morning! Tune in for posted winners this weekend!
(@MariaChapinFarm3 you forgot to edit your post for your story! :D ) -
Entries are Closed! Thank you so much for playing!

That's 90 entries! I loved reading all the recipes, music recommendations, and stories you all had!
October:
@LallyHop, Angel of Music is so cool! :D I love that the marking made its way to someone who would really appreciate it. :D
@ChevalStables Have you heard of Steam Powered Giraffe? I'm a part of the Neo-Victorian Club at my college and the president loves the style. :D
@WhiteMountain I grew up with Billy Joel, SillyWizard/Cheiftans too! Mainly because my parents liked them. The Celtic vinyls would come out for St. Patrick's Day (in the early 2000's!) so they're old family nostalgias for me. :)
@rauch23 you spun off a pretty good list of bands! :D My boyfriend was horrified when he found out I didn't really know a lot of 80's bands so he set off to educate me. :P
@Dinascar yeah, that was great! I like figure skating a lot but I've never really followed the competitions very closely. YouTube
@Xceptional I listened to Gershwin! I loved Rhapsody in Blue ever since Fantasia did it. :P It's possibly better on its own.
@FeldingFields The Lost Boys reminds me of the scene in the 10th Kingdom (a fantasy miniseries I saw once YEARS ago) where the main character has to win a singing competition with a sheep-related song and she modifies We Will Rock You to We Will Shear You. :D
November: You know I'm going to book mark all of these recipes for myself. :D Once I move out I'll be free to experiment and fail. :P
@LallyHop That sounds soooooo goood! And doable! I think even I could do that!
@FeldingFields That's a great story! So descriptive I wish I could come over, too. =P~ My family has only done the wet crouton thing too, so when Joe came for Thanksgiving a few years ago he was really surprised and insisted he bring his family's sausage stuffing every time since. We can't complain.
@SquishLime that's a great idea! I've taken a ceramics class in both Fall semesters the past two years at school so I've been gifting pottery assignments. :D I could make pretty easy choices when I was wheelworking and making series of mugs and bowls, but this time it was a handbuilding class so everything is unique and not necessarily practical. :P
@RunFarAway That's hilarious! :))
@Ren that's a great point! One of the widest shared things between cultures is food. :D It's something people are happy to share.
December:
@Wolvevenfrosst That's a lot of good books! They sound awesome. :3
@CWScowgirl87 Aw! He sounds like a good cat. I had a cat for a long time but a little more than a year ago I got the news that she disappeared. :( She was so sweet and cuddly but she was sick for a while (we don't know what was wrong with her). We live in the country so she was likely taken by something. Her daughter Pepper disappeared too, so we've presumed her Queen of the Raccoons, because she was a firecracker, but Kitty (Her mother had her kittens here and we always assumed she'd be one of the ones given away so we never properly named her) wasn't so fierce. She's Queen of the Rabbits now.
@MariaChapinFarm3 I counted your entry but I still want to hear it! :D
@WhiteMountain That's incredible! We really take our freedoms for granted here, but I'm glad you had some. :)
@DevilsParadise That's great! Are you planning on going into the wildlife industry?
@FeldingFields I love Terry Pratchett! I've read almost all of those, including Nightwatch! I like reading it knowing the plot of Les Mis, too. Did you know it's a loose parody?
@lostcause that's great! =))
@SquishLime Awwwww! I hope she's around for a good long time. :) My friend just lost her dog of 14 years (since puppyhood!) this fall and got a puppy who I finally met today and she's so obsessed she started a facebook page for him. =))
@RunFarAway Ooooooh! Promising! :D
@HunterUnderSaddleGirl I love the Ranger's Apprentice series! I've gotten up to book 12 in the original and then through some of the Brotherband and I really want to read the prequels! Percy Jackson and Eragon are also great series! :D
If I didn't respond to you, don't worry, I still appreciate your entry and you'll get an equal chance at winning. :)Thanked by 1Lallyhop -
@RoseFlute I have!! I love anything that takes the original and makes it their own in a unique way. (I love other types of music too, don't get me wrong. You'd laugh looking g through my music collection and think I was crazy. Classical to Smashing Pumpkins to The Phantom of the Opera live to Korn...the list goes on).Thanked by 1RoseFlute

So I was rolling some of the prizes last night because I just couldn't wait but ARGH one player who doesn't own any gene licenses just rolled for three different straws bundles from closed gene horses. XD It only means I should make a new system of rolling for closed gene prizes. :P
Winners announced Saturday! -
@Roseflute, I probably won't try to work in the outdoors unless I somehow manage to get my own little farm going. I enjoy the recreation, but when it's cold I don't want to be stuck out there :-))Thanked by 1RoseFlute
-
Good point. Although if you're a student yet you still have the chance to move somewhere that doesn't get so cold?
-
@Roseflute yep, I love the Les Mes references, especially when Reg is waving the flag on the barricade. But I also really loved getting to see young Vetinari in action and who doesn’t love some Sam Vimes.Thanked by 1RoseFlute
-
@FeldingFields Right? Especially twice as much as normal. :D
-
Actually, because I need to wrap today while everyone else is gone, I might have to postpone prize reveals until either late tonight (same as game time) or tomorrow afternoon. :)
-
@RoseFlute just do you, don't worry we all understand. :)Thanked by 1RoseFlute
