Anyone else?
  • Anyone else have a sudden case of "Reorganization Fever"? I literally just want to empty my pastures and start all over, organization wise :)) But i would need a lot more barn space for that to happen :)) lol and then there's the fact that i have approximately 7389743 breeding lines so i need about a million more pastures :D I think i might buy one tomorrow when i get paid (if i have enough after my student loan payment 8-| ugh, school lol). I just need to take this one pasture at a time. But i think i'm gonna wait til after the January breeding season so all my mares can get their pasture bonus. Anyone else just get hit with the sudden urge to change everything? My horses won't know what hit them! :D

  • Well, mine are fairly simple as to what goes with what... But I desperately need a new pasture and I'm stuck between "Ponies in for a full bonus?" or "Drafts in for a full bonus?"

  • Not so much feeling the need to organize, as I am to snip half the herd and start over. Some of my ladies just aren’t where I think they should be, and I’m going to be introducing a couple new foundies in the next month or so *evil grin* My poor boys are gonna be losing their dangly bits!

  • @FallenShadows714

Was that you?? (Assuming so). If so, or even if not, thank you! :D >:D<

  • I've been holding off on buying new pastures, but as the seasons are getting on I'm realizing I'm going to need more! I need one for foundies, one for gen 1s, one for gen 2s... LOL

  • @Xceptional
Thank you!!! And Merry Christmas to you, too!!!
Just once, (or well, twice) I forgot the punctuation rule. :))

  • a lot of my older mares need some snipping (and a lot of my studs need their "dangly bits" removed as well lol). That's why i have the urge to redo/reorganize everything! It's chaos out in my pastures :))
  • "Dangly Bits" I love it! :))

  • hahah. I’m in limbo between auctioning off half of my foundation mares, or keeping them... they have a lot of points, but are too old for sniping to do any good...but I want to focus on other things. Decisions are hard. Happily for my current studs I’m not going after a pair of snipers.
    Thanked by 1AHayesHorses
  • Yeah I've luckily snipped most of my studs, just trying to sell some of my fantasy genes that don't have appaloosa at this point LOL. So if anyone wants nacre, watercolour, nexus, or ice 15 studs... :P
    Thanked by 1AHayesHorses
  • Haha, @BlaxkDiamond even when snipping is too late, I do it anyways - it gives me an excuse to keep them as show ponies without interfering with my number of breeders! :))
ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.

  • The hardest is when you are a hoarder of horses then you run out of room in both places.lol. So you work around and get another barn. But then you have to fill that up. I need to really cramp down in the New Year with my horses. Both altering and shipping out. :)
  • I sent a bunch of lil mares to auction. they were a bit older and had under 200 pts to them plus no AFPT so they either threw alterd babies or all colts. I was really happy about it and feeling great till i was searching the auction for ponies under 13.3 and realized Just about all of the one's I sent to auction were in that category. :-O I was good though. I only pulled one 4 yr old back that was an EP. I had tossed her thinking oh EP's are easy to get now and didnt even look at the horse till I realized later that she was in the 13.2 category! Then it was like Oh noo please come back.
I did buy up a whole bunch of under 4 yr olds that had over 200pts to replace the slackers that got shipped off.

  • Right there with the rest of you. I'm coming up on my first anniversary in the game, and now that I have some idea of what I want to do, I need to invest in some big barns and have some very uncomfortable career counseling sessions with the majority of my stallions and mares:

"Have you ever thought of being a spelding? I really think your aptitude, skill set, and hard charging attitude would lend themselves well to a show pony career. Yes, I understand that you enjoy the breeding thing. But, your foals are about as uneven as the Himalayas, and people who drive by my pastures keep asking if I'm operating a rescue for deformed goats..."
  • @pfrsue

    Hahahahaha!!!
    You just made my night!!

I work a 7day on 7day off schedule and my activity here will reflect that.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me.

  • I'm doing a major purge and taking advantage of the giving feeling I'm having with the holidays around the corner. I've only retained 10 or so horses that I KNOW I will not sell but have had many move onto new homes I never thought I'd see leave lol

  • @pfrsue - omg I just about died. That is the best thing. hahha =))

I'm in the same boat as a lot of people, not quite enough room to do a mass reorganization, I need another barn for show ponies. :-S I was planning on using December to save hbs, reorganize barns, and empty/refill pastures but, of course, the month got away from me and I don't have quite enough hbs for that new barn yet... I'll be spending my free time during the holidays trying to empty one pasture at a time so I can *try* to reorganize my mares. My stallions are (surprisingly) mostly under control, there are a few that are in the stud barn that don't get used but I don't want to snip them just yet...

  • Pfrsue! Bwahaha!

I've realized that I have one stallion for each of the patterns I put on my livers, for EACH generation! I need to start combining the ones I like (that can combine) onto one stud; One guy with KitM AND W3, another with satin AND W10, etc. Plus I really need to get a handle on my lower gen pasture mares! I need to stop relying on high numbers of foals, and pay better attention to quality! But that involves developing a new system for culling, and I don't think I have the energy to wrestle with that right now! Ah well, goals for the future! :p

  • well, i just got done snipping 80 studs :D Started with 156 (2 years and older) and now down to 76!
  • Half my fun in the game is setting up spreadsheets and writing up extremely complicated word files of exactly how all my barns and pastures are currently arranged and how I will have them arranged in three months once I buy x-sized barn and how I will save up money for that. Buying show ponies is my favorite thing and breeding them is my second favorite thing because I know if it's altered it will only earn me money and I will never, ever have to stress out over it on the 27th of every month, trying to figure out who to breed it to. :P

  • I envy your tenacity @NewRiverFarm! That is way too much work for my ADD brain :)) I can't stay focused long enough to do that lol
  • Ha I have ADD too but this is what I use my hyperfocus for!

  • I'm preparing to merge my second account with this one, and do a total reorganization of my lines from foundation up. It's a daunting process, considering i have upwards of 500 mares just counting foundations! I need to sort everyone by if they have sooty or not, then sort the sooties by body type. Haven't even started yet. I have to cull a bunch of foals I've been slacking on the last couple seasons to make room for all this moving around first. I just started that today, so come sunday i expect a TON of yearling to 3yo SBA'd fillies in auction.

  • my account is driving me absolutely nuts right now. I need a serious organizational weekend. It'll have to be after SS and the busy holiday season.
    Thanked by 1AHayesHorses
  • Same here on the need to reorganize. I've only been playing since February but my place over here is a mess! :) I'm hoping to have time over the holidays while I'm off work to do a major overhaul.
