You can't designate a specific horse to someone, but generally noting in the chat that the horse is reserved is enough to keep people from sniping. I've also seen people name the horses "for" people - like "For Stefliz #".
-
In private chat rooms you CAN designate a horse as specifically for one person. It's only on the public list that it is not allowed. Naming the horse 'For so and so' is a good way, and making a comment in the chat helps as well.Thanked by 1Stefliz

I just meant that within a private chat room, someone can technically still buy a horse not intended for them if more than 2 people are in the chat. The note in the chat and the naming trick just helps make it clearer to everyone. :)
-
Didn't help i'm afraid, someone else bought 2 horses that was ment for someone else :/
-
Are you sure they were listed in the buddy chat only? And is anyone else in the buddy chat?#28036
-
Yes, but i have a few in the chat.. its public. Should i remove all members and make it private?
-
did you state that the horses were for another member? Message the buyer and ask they be put back up for the intended buyer
-
I had the new owners name on the horses and told them that they were up for sale and wrote in the chat that tey were ment for a specific person :)
-
Have you messaged the buyer?
-
or even just comment in the chat to them asking for the horses to be put back up?
-
I took a look and did some snooping, are you referring to the 4 horses you put up for CollectedAcres? Because it shows her as the owner for all 4 if I'm seeing things correctly
-
Ah wait i see the two you are talking about :) So yes, when you do get the chance message them and go from there!
-
I think you can have up to 5(?) chats. Usually I have one public for listing horses for anyone to buy and one private and I add and remove 1 person at a time so they are the only ones to get the horses.
-
Yup, five total. I have three private sales ones as I tend to do a lot of buying and selling and try to keep each chat to one person at a time. The third one doesn't get used as often, but any time I do a larger sale I usually do have people in all three as I wait for horses to be picked up, and I just cycle out, removing each person as they make the purchase. :)ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!
God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.Thanked by 1Stefliz -
Yup, there has been a lot of wrong-horse-buying going on lately. I've done it by accident myself, and re-listed the horses as soon as I realized.
If you've got a premium account though, I've found it easier to do what people above have said -- I have a specific chat for private sales and I only add people one or two at a time when I have a horse for them, and I clear the room after the horses have been picked up. Keeps accidents to a minimum.
