ISO: Premium Upgrade
-
I'm not sure if this is possible or not, as premium is a subscription based payment, but I figured I would ask anyway.
I currently do not have the real life money to spend on this game no matter how much I would like to. So, in the spirit of helping each other out and helping others buy barns and such, would anyone be willing to help me out with this? If this is possible, let me know and we can work out a price. -
Premium upgrade is only possible by a subscription.
-
:( I had hoped a premium upgrade may be achievable via HBs also, but it seems I’ll be basic forever lol
-
Ammit has to make money somehow. So premium is always going to be real money only. Same with pastures (The only time pastures were available for IVs was when the hb cap of 10mil was enabled. This gave the big stables a chance to use up their millions of hbs before it just got deleted). However, one year, for secret sant (on server 1), my santa gifted me a premium upgrade for a year. You never know what might happen. I never in a million years thought i would be able to keep up a premium upgrade for both servers and yet i was finally able to. Despite how little income i am currently getting, i make it work as best i can.
-
Ammit would still be making money if I paid another player in HBs to buy it for me with real money (much like people are doing with the gene sales now). ;)
I do understand what you're getting at, though. I know another game that does just this, but premium is not subscription based for that, which is why I was wondering if it was possible here. In all honesty, Ammit may make more money with premium upgrades if this was an option. I know I would have upgraded a long time ago if I could pay someone with game money to spend their real money for me. I'm just throwing ideas around, I have no idea how Ammit has the system set up. -
Hayes was answering SquishLime about premium being available via hbs.
I am going to say no to this because there is too much potential for problems here. No one should sign a contractual obligation for a recurring payment for another person with the expectation for continued hb payment from that player, nor should anyone pay a large sum of HBs with the expectation of continual payment from another person. Stuff happens and there is too much potential for someone to get screwed.
Buying a gift of a barn or an upgrade for another player is totally fine. Buying a limited or closed gene foundation and then selling that horse for an agreed upon price is fine. But spending real life money in the hopes that someone will follow through and send you a large sum of game cash is going to result in to many problems in the future and probably cost us money in the long run because of players getting burnt.

Guys... it's 7.50 a month. Most people spend more than that on one coffee. Our Netflix subscription costs more than that now. It's really not going to break you. But also, basic isn't the worst either. No idea when I opened this account on here, maybe 2 years ago? But I just broke down and bought my first pasture for it the other day. If you want the subscription, just get it for yourself. I'm sure there are much less trivial purchases in your life that you need less justification for.
-
I don't know a single person that spends $7.50 on a single coffee. To assume most people do is quite silly. And to assume that anyone can just get it themselves when they posted they don't have any money is kind of silly as well. There are kids and unemployed people that play, there are disabled people and people on limited incomes that play. There are a lot of people that literally cannot afford to pay and do not have trivial purchases because they can't afford those either.
I wasn't saying it was a good idea to ask here, just saying not everyone can afford to just buy it, they either have to wait or just don't get it.#28036 -
And then there's me who'll drop $25 on myself for a coffee date for myself with lunch xD I'm a limited income, I work for myself, I don't get regularly paid but I somehow make it work.
$7.50 for me is essentially not having two candy bars a month, I'll get more hours of entertainment here than I would for those two minutes of candy bars :)
EDIT: As someone who became premium this year, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the two accounts. Premies get eggs, SBA, buddy chats and auto-show. As an upgrade you can still build a great stable without those benefits. When I ran my horses through SBA I lost less than 2% of my breeding stock from when I had a yearly upgrade. With the premium I have a little more time now as I'm not having to click the enter all button, but other than that, you're not missing out.#4519 -
@Haltanny it's also silly to assume anyone is willing to commit to spending their $7.50 a month on some random person just because they asked on the forum. Either way, have it or don't, get it or don't, but coming on the forum asking for someone to spend real life money on you, even just $7.50 a month, is a bit... tacky. And I don't say that from a place of privilege. I've starved before. And I also give every opportunity I can. Blood, food, time, money, etc. Because I know what it is to need essentials. My point was that $7.50 a month is a silly thing to go asking complete strangers for when it isn't an essential.

I'm closing this. Discussions about privilege and what is and isn't essential belong elsewhere.
