:x I guess I’ll just talk about random things on my mind rn:

the fact that I’ve been sick lately being pregnant so I’ve been pretty distant from the game. I honestly hate how pregnancy makes me feel. I’ve already had one baby before and it was essentially the same stuff I’m going through now. I never expected to dislike being pregnant so much because for so long that’s all I wanted in life. I guess it’s just got me down. I’m 20 weeks pregnant and so far every single one of those weeks has been a challenge to get through without a hospital visit. Sometimes I even fail at that.... (I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum)

Anyways, I do have a brag but it’s not about the game. My husband finally let me look at everything at Hobby Lobby — he didn’t rush me! Lol! The entire time we have been married, that’s never happened. So that really lifted my spirits.

My brag: I've finally got my herd going in the direction I want. All my foundation mares are red (except for my rank specials). I'm starting to get a better idea of what I love (het nexus on grullos or black based coats?! :x) and with the auction I just did, I've got plenty of barn space and extra hb lying around to help bolster my herd. Can't wait for next breeding season! I'll actually use my pastures like I should this time :))

I think I need to go again.... this time a cry. We are having a mock, and just for fun presidential debate. I just had an idea, wasn't set on it, but it was debated, which was fine, that's the whole point. Except I couldn't understand what the other person was trying to tell me. They wouldn't stop insulting me long enough to listen to what I was actually saying and not what they thought I was saying.... Then finally ended on her yelling at me that we would all die if I ever became president..... I know that I'm not a popular person at school. I get along with adults more than other people my age. And usually it doesn't bother me that I'm not their favorite person. But it actually got me pretty upset. And I'm not that person that gets overly worked up over someone's opinion.....

And HunterUnderSaddleGirl, that's horrible! I'm sure your idea wasn't terrible, but the person who was supposed to debate it just had layers of associations with it. Remember, if you aren't quite presidential as a kid, you still have lots of time. :) Even if you aren't planning on becoming President one day, I'm sure it stung for other reasons. You can lead very well as a young person, but leading a country is something only the best can do. It takes half a lifetime of honing expert skills to get there, so if your opponent expects that of you, for one thing, sod them, and for another, maybe hey actually think you're more mature than they are? Maybe. What's more likely is that they're remembering everyone else (the exciting ones) who's ever had an opinion like the one you gave and the reactions (the exciting ones) of everyone who they admire or just the sheer volume of the same kind of reaction and then, thinking of both extremes, being horrified...whatever the case, politics are a miry bog of emotions right now. People start with assumptions and are immediately defensive. Everything rests on the shoulders of the smallest matters and everything is a reflection of a person's character. Everything is so blown out of proportion and opinions are part of identities now.
I can't say it would be a good idea to bring up your idea here, because as great a community as it is, it's just not the place, particularly on a gifting thread. I think all of us would like to encourage you to put yourself forward and talk about things with others, even if you feel they might not be received well, because it is a really important part of life and even education.
People talk about it being a problem on Both Sides, or that saying that is a problem in itself, but it's not even that simple. Everyone has their own side, and people's opinions are a lot more complicated than we think--even if we have to consolidate things into just a checklist of beliefs, one way or the other on issues, the reality is that they won't all be on the same side of the ballot unless our communities think there's something wrong with that. Community has a lot more influence on our beliefs than we think, too...I just heard in a Tedtalk? I think? that some confidence in an opinion is based on how many people have agreed with us recently. There was a study where scientists made up a word, put together random pictures, and then asked participants if the subject of the picture was like the made up word at all, but whether the word matched the picture was completely random. The participants grew more confident in their opinions when they apparently got it right a few times in a row, and would be convinced they knew what the made up word meant after about 6 times. This leaves out whatever connotations might come with deciding whether you should think one thing is like the made up word or not, since political stances are so often connected to moral views, but for the sake of science it's simplified to the one thing. So the people you discuss things with make your mind up an awful lot of the time, too. Seeing that the people who hold those opinions aren't monsters is something else, but I think the person you debated didn't notice.
What a ramble. I'll stop there on the political side of things...
I'm sure you won't bring down civilization in any leadership you might take on. :) I went to therapy for a month or so some years ago, and one of the big things I took away from it was that you can't judge yourself by the way present you would handle future problems. You're not thinking about all the growing you can do from now to then and all it does is make you feel like a failure when you're nowhere near trying yet.
That's maybe not the point of your cry? I just--
