Baby names! (And update)
-
So I haven't really updated anyone here because we weren't sure what's going on. Theres been alot of complications with the twins, who we found out are girls! There's been alot of complications. I hemorrhaged at 16 weeks and they told me I was losing them. Then the next week i was told i had stage three twin to twin transfusion and was rushed to NYC to the childrens hospital only to find out it wasnt that bad and I just needed to be monitored weekly. Then 2 weeks later we find out that its NOT twin to twin transfusion but selective intrauterine growth restriction and baby b is measuring about a week behind with a 30% growth discrepancy. They have actively been suggesting selective termination although weve told them it's out of the question unless its absolutely necessary. At this point they can decide to take the babies anywhere from Thanksgiving to their due date in March. I've never been so scared in my life. But the good news is we have baby names and as of right now they are strong! The little one is my big mover and loves to kick daddy already. Their names are Sophia Rose (our smaller baby) and Hazel Faith!!

Will keep a candle lit that they both continue to actually thrive and both girls make it here *hugs* stay strong momma and take care!God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.

Key here, don't panic and if they do come early, don't panic! I was in a children's NICU 2 years ago. The premies, even the micro-premies, were going home way before us. It's amazing how far medicine has come, even in the last 13 year(when I had my first).
Everything will be okay. -
I'll second the advice from SeldomSeen--don't panic. Way back in the 60's when my parents decided to foster babies we received several that were premies, a couple of them born at just over 2 pounds because my mother was a registered nurse. Even back then, these tiny ones came through with flying colors, and medicine has come a long way since then. I'll be keeping your whole family in prayer.

Praying for you mama! I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant with twins! Both are girls! :) From one twin mama to the other, I am sending prayers and thoughts your way! Twins are a whole new ball game when it comes to pregnancy, and even with no complications, the anxiety is high. I feel for you so much! You’re doing the right thing though, I know as a mom we always question whether or not we are doing the right thing— you are! And I love their names! I have faith that it’ll work out and everyone will be ok in the end! Being a mom is tough and not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure! You’re so strong! Even on days you don’t realize or feel like it :xThanked by 1Amgr1992

Thank you guys! I'm so attached to these babies, I'd really like to make it to 28 weeks with Sophia measuring behind, because until she measures 23 weeks they wont even try to save her which really sucks. I'm at 22 weeks tomorrow so I need atleast another 3 weeks. So far they are thriving! And my Mim was a peds nurse in the er. She dealt with alot of premises, including me. I was a 32 weeker myself but with the way the doctors are talking I wont make it that far. Sophia has absent blood flow in her cord but positive flow in her ductus (?) so as long as she doesnt go into reverse we should be good! I'm prepared for a long NICU stay for both girls. But I just want them to wait until they are big enough!

@PattersonFarm the complications are the scary part! I haven't hit that second trimester feel good stage everyone talks about yet!
-
Honestly, there is no safe zone in pregnancy. Sadly. I can’t imagine what you’re going through— especially being told they won’t even try to save Sophia. :( But I’m really hoping you make it far along enough that they can both be saved. That would be a real treat.
-
We are on good track to make it to where they can and will save both :) I know there isnt any "save zone" especially with identicals in general. But I feel like we are almost out of that "theres nothing we can do" stage. Just a few more weeks! The longer they are in the better for them but if they need to come at at 25/26 weeks then atleast theyll be able to at least try :)

30 years ago, I was born with just 7 months of gestation. Don't worry too much. Medicine has advanced a lot since then, your daughters have even more of a chance than I did, and I'm still here.Thanked by 1Amgr1992

Thinking about you Amgr and about PattersonFarm. Multiples are rough but I have my fingers crossed both of your pregnancies will be uneventful from here and you’re both posting lots of twin baby girl photos for us soon! One of my good friends just gave birth to premie twins and both are home after very short stays in NICU to get up to weight...y’all will do the same or better I’m sure!

Thank you Cheers! I'll have micro preemies which sucks but as long as they get here I can handle it! Fate blessed me with a double rainbow and I'm trying to keep a positive outlook!
