Okay so I started playing in March. Since then I've learned a lot about genes and everything. I had started focusing on strictly the tallest drafts but then decided to narrow it down a little to specific genes. I had decided to focus on pearl and open ice drafts and let the height requirement go. I'm at a loss at this point as to where to go from here so I'm asking my fantastic friends in our super helpful community what to do. I love drafts and I want to focus solely on drafts, but looking for specific genes like pearl and open ice is difficult to find and with the ice especially I can't have them on open sale either- which I guess isn't a bad thing. Should I continue on my current route? Maybe have some tall drafts to breed on the side? I've never been much into the showing aspect of the game though I do have some show horses. I guess I just need some other points of view... are pearl and open ice sought after? Thanks everyone, sorry, just needed some advice.

You totally should! I have an open ice draft that I could give you. (I believe he is het pearl, het snowflake, het DP, and het i8)

He is a second gen and isn't getting too much action in my barns, so id love to give him to someone that could put him to good use. :P hold on, ill link him.

Keep in mind, horses can actually be bred up: so you can start with whatever height and slowly breed taller as you go through the generations! If you still want to breed for height and for whatever genes you love, you totally can. :D

If ice and pearl is what you're looking for, I can help you out a bit too, so feel free to PM me.

(And don't worry about what everyone else likes and looks for: breed for yourself! Show ponies are how you make money, not selling horses. Selling is just a side thing. :) )

I also have been playing since March. I have so many things I want to explore I have multiple accounts. It seemed like a great idea starting out... Now I realize as they grow, I really need to save up the ivs and upgrade them. I don't breed horses for anyone's value but my own, but I still squeal when I open a pretty baby.

I have i8 on 2 accounts, and am adding i1 this season to another... With freverant hope that i2 or i13 come on sale soon. *swoon*

I'm pretty sure I have at least one crop of prl foals on every account but my petite greys. I also seem to have a weakness for brown based appys. Most of my accounts are drafts.

But really... What makes You squeal when you see a new baby? That's what you should breed for.

@Lallyhop thanks I always forget I can breed up...maybe that's what I'll do, breed for tallest ice drafts!
@Seaswell I squeal for loud colored babies lol I love a lot of white and fun patterns

Definitely! (And if you ever want more straws from Speckles, let me know. He's always available to public and will get you that ice and pearl plus lots of fun patterns!)

I may not have any ice I can help with, but my foundation liver stud is hom pearl! Not much flash in this line (yet) but I do tend to produce many pearl livers and chocolates. If you're interested in straws or live covers I can help on that end. I also have a 3G hom pearl, het satin stud that I bred last season who I'm not attached to if you want to give him a go. He is a bit short for a 3G though at 15hh. There are a few het pearl liver boys that I have that I'm going to sell too. Some have flash, others not so much.

I tend to sell his straws for about 1k, but I'm going to put him up cheap for live cover this season in the liver breeders chat if you want to wait for that. He'll have plenty of breedings left.

If you’re not worried about breeding even, I have a ton of Ice 1 and 8 in my Bootstrap herd. Not much that’s Draft, but you could breed up in bone. And I am trying to focus on breeding up or down in bone since the lighter and heavier horses seem to sell better!

I also have Ice 5 in my even bred lines. This guys straws are available and I would also be happy to sell offspring if there’s anything you’re keen on.
