Are you only able to clone horses that you bred? I have a very very short list of named horses that I I am able to clone. I really wanted to clone my day of the Moon stud. He did it originate from cheers. never clone before but I was looking into it because he's such a nice boy

From my recent experience, you can only clone horses that you've bred. Also, some genes will not clone. I know KP is one of them as it did not copy onto my ROF clone.

Yeah, it can sadly only clone genes that could happen naturally in a create. (Snowflake, DP, etc)

I know some white genes clone. I believe white 10 does and i know that white 3 does. I'm sure if you messaged Cheers, she would be willing to help you out!

PM me hidden and we can work something out. But KP definitely does not clone, so you’d have to add it back onto any horse you cloned from your Moon boy.

I think you might be able to add it on through the GMT lab but not through gene sales?

We really need a definitive guide to cloning. Questions about how it works come up really frequently, and not many people have solid yes/no answers because it's not something that's done frequently.
Maybe it's something the wonderful @ConfluenceFarms can work on expanding upon it in the FAQ sometime down the road? :x

The only thing I know for sure, is the fantasy genes will not clone. Splash m is not supposed to clone. Snowflake and DP will clone. The actual KP gene will not, but the creatable kit genes will clone. I’m not sure which of the GMTable only kit genes clone though.

Also, foundations clone as foundations, and lined horses clone as lined horses. So your foundation clone will be able to have any modifications made to it, but at the expensive GMT rates, while your lined horse is still subject to whatever it’s parents did or did not have. Boosts (according to the pasture example from Ammit) will clone.
