Is that hard to breed for? I think I have narrowed what I want to breed for. I want to breed Pearl Rabicano tobiano horses.

I believe it is receive, so the line would be hard to start, but easy to continue.

Good luck! I love pearl horses (have a few het pearls that I plan to turn into a line too) I think it's a great line choice

Pearl is one of the Cream alleles. It has to be homozygous to manifest in all its glory. Heterozygous Pearl by itself has no visible effect. When joined with Ccr, ordinary Cream, you get a horse that looks pretty much like a homozygous CcrCcr; the test result is reported as Palomino Pearl, Buckskin Pearl, and so forth. The technical term for this pairing is Pseudo-Double Dilute. I don't remember what the effect on eye color is, since I don't breed for Pearl myself. No doubt you will find out as you go along. :)

I could sell you one or two second gen pearl fillies/mares and I'd even be willing to part with my 2nd gen homozygous pearl stallion for way less than I would normally sell him for. They would be a great start to your line. I know youve been trying to figure out what you want to breed for and now that youve figured it out I would be more than happy to help you get started

I tend to have quite a few Rabicanos in my stable, and would be willing to pass on some foundation or 2nd gen breeding stock. Let me know if you're interested.
