Hom DP?

    I’ve gotten decent at telling if a horse is Hom if they’re a chocolate palomino. But this little lady got some pearl from her dad, so I’m lost. Can someone help me out?

    They can be very hard to tell, I’m honestly having a hard time and I breed for it! Here are two of my hom boys, keep in mind they do have Roan, but I can guarantee they are hom DP.

    The second boy you can tell in his face he is Hom DP. So I’m really looking at the face of your girl compared to that boy when I say I’m leaning towards hom. But the only way to know for sure is to check with a GMT token.

    Is there a way to tell without buying a GMT token? I have absolutely no experience with GMTing.

    The only way to tell is to test breed her, but honestly without pulling eggs it will take most of her life to tell she’s hom unless you breed her to a hom sooty chestnut stud.

    If she’s hom DP and hom sooty, and bred to an only hom sooty stud, all of her foals will be het DP. If one comes out only hom sooty, you know she is only het.

    Edit: The way to tell with a GMT is, to pull her up in the Gene Mod Lab and try to make a change to the DP on her moms or dads side. It will only accept a change, and take your token, if DP can be added. It will not take it away. Thus, if you get an error on both her parents side for DP, you know she is hom.
