so the other day i got the 250k hbs lotto and i got myself a gmt token. what do they do? and what did i do to my colt
  • They change the genes on the horses. You made him homozygous for black.
  • what does that mean?
  • Homozygous means having two of the same allele. e is red and E is black. eE is one of each which would be heterozygous. ee is homozygous for red and EE is homozygous for black.

He will always pass on one copy of E to his foals.
He will never sire a red foal.
  • what if i bred him with a chestnut mare?
  • He will still give his colt one E making it dark black/brown. Capital E in a horses genes means that that gene is dominant. The E makes a horse black even if there is only one because it is dominant over the ee gene which makes a horse red.
    Hope I helped!

  • He will always have bay or black based babies. He is heterozygous for Agouti, so there is a 1/2 chance that he will pass on the A agouti gene for bay as well as a 100% chance Thant he will pass the E extension gene which gives all of his foals black. The genetics guide at the bottom left of any page can help you figure this out. There are also some old "guess what color I am" forum posts out there which may help you understand how all of the genes interact.
