  • Monday, Sep 24th I turn 30. While I am not usually big into birthdays I really enjoy this community and want to do something special. I will be giving away Several millions worth of money/horses/semen/eggs.
Not sure what all I will pick yet but will def be giving away some upgrades.

30 is going to be a hard one for me and this game helps keep my mind off stuff. Just a big milestone. I want nothing more than to have a family and kids and my clock is ticking. I know I am young but still worries me. I do have a boyfriend but we havent been together very long and still too new to even consider any major conversations like this.
So tell me you goals and dreams in life:-)

    Add
I typed this while on short time limit.
I read a quote last week that said we always want more than what we have. Not long ago we wanted what we have now. And that's so true. I really am blessed. Almost 2 years ago I was blessed with finally being able to purchase my own home. I have 7 acres. Moved from a rental that had lots of problems. I am slowly adding fence and buildings to my place but it is mine. My horse is being borded (free of charge) at a friend's for over 2 years(all I do is much stalls daily) and for that I am eternally great full. I do however have to drive 45 mins from work and 30 mins away from home to do these stalls daily, so I waste alot of time and money on that. My mare will be coming to my place very soon just have to do a couple more things and I will be so happy to have her home. I am blessed with a college degree Associate in Applied Sciences and am a Registered Veterinary Technician who is valued and appreciated at work. I am trainee supervisor after just a year in my job. I am also so great ful for my goats who I have been so blessed with. Esp my Nigerian buck Cyrus who has been phenomenal and producing many champions and being extremely saught after. So my life is wonderful the only thing I could hope to be blessed with is a family.
  • Congrats on reaching your own milestone! A lot of my friends and I have also been talking about turning 30 lately haha. It’s a conversation that has been around me a lot recently too. As someone who has done a lot of things a bit later in life I figured I’d share my goals with you too even if just to remind you not to give up on the things you want ^^

This year my goal is to graduate university. I sarted my uni degree 8 years ago. Yup lol. For 8 years I’ve been at uni. I couldn’t afford to do uni full time so I had to do it part time so I could work at the same time to pay for it. Then during my third year I became suddenly and extremely ill. I had to move house and change jobs to be closer to the city for treatments and doctors. Uni had to be put on hold again. I started up again once I was well enough and finally I am now currently completeing my very last subject with the hopes to, assuming I pass, graduate at the end of the year with a double degree in Applied Science and Equine Science. It also qualifies me as an equine nurse and one day I’d love to work as one and quit the very boring job I have now haha.

So that’s my goal for this year, I’m nearly there! It just took me a bit longer then most lol
  • I haven't quite reached 30 yet (by a long shot) but I have some milestones of my own to reach yet! I'm starting to consider grad schools, and even though I've already done the whole undergrad thing, it's still overwhelming all over again! I'm also planning on applying for a study abroad program next semester, to be completed next year. In the meantime, I am buried under an avalanche of homework and job-work. Thankfully my fellow students and profs are like a second family and I love my job. The hardest part is missing my horses and my home -- my gelding and I achieved so much this summer (bridleless YAS)! HaJ is a good outlet to help me not miss him so much.

  • Happy birthday for Monday :)

A few years ago I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. And while I didn’t want kids at the time, hearing the doctor tell me i wouldn’t fall pregnant naturally absolutely gutted me. Well 3 months later I fell pregnant. Was not planned at all. Haha. And my little boy was so worth it. My point is while you may feel like your running out of time there’s no telling what life may throw at you :)

My main goal in life is to buy a house in the near future. I received a small payout from a death benefit after my partner was killed in an accident a year and a half ago and I just want to ensure with that money I give our little boy (who’s 2 now) the best life I can.

Although living in sydney and being a single Mum with a million animals (not literally but feels like it) is making it extremely hard to save any extra but I’m optimistic we will get there :)

    PM me for any enquiries.
  • Happy birthday!

I'm turning 30 on October 5th. I have many goals but the main one would be to own property and have my real horses at home.
  • Aw, happy birthday! Good luck on those dreams. It'll work out, things have a funny way of doing that.

I'm taking the MCAT next summer, so I'm looking forward to med school or graduate school (ahhh decisions). My boyfriend is graduating this year and has applied to medical school. We're long distance so I'm looking forward to someday seeing him on a regular basis. My dream is to have a job I love and am good at, and to have a nice little house and some land. Horses one day maybe, when all those med school bills are finally paid off haha.
  • Happy Birthday !

Is there a magical correct age to have a child ? ,having children and marrying before 25 is too young and after 25 is too old, this cannot be a true statement. We all have our own clocks to tick :)

  • Happy birthday
My goals are to become a vet, own lots of horses maybe even a really quiet stallion.
    Enjoy your 30th birthday
  • Congrats on becoming 30. I will be turning 31 in just a few short months *hyperventilates* My husband and I haven't had any children yet. Like @Cyrstal93 I have PCOS so it's been 7 years of trying without any luck.

Besides having my own family, my current dream is to take my APHA 2 year old filly to Pinto World next year. I would love nothing more than to come home with a World or Reserve World title ♥

Here is my Paint filly, Shes A Hotroddin Jose

  • Happy birthday! I wish you luck in all your endeavors. :)

What my goals are now aren't nearly so good any more as I recently hit a turn in the road and am trying to go a different direction. The growing opinion at my college's Bio department that I should try to become a bio teacher became strong enough that I am trying that, so my goal is to be a bio teacher of a grade probably between 6 and 12. Really I just want to graduate eventually and try to go back to raising goats again before something happens to what is my foundation doe for my herd now that her mother passed away a bit ago. I hope to become a published author some day and write things that will somehow brighten and help those who read them, and I hope to have a family one day as well. I'm even younger than you and am already feeling like the years and time are going by too fast in comparison to things getting done though. haha
  • @AgainstTheOdds, I will be turning 57 on October 5th!

My friends and family all gave up on me remembering birthdays a long time ago! Now I do it just like race horses...January 1st everyone turns one year older!

  • Happy Birthday!! 30 was a great year for me, I hope it will be for you as well! I am having hard time with being in my 40s lol

My goals, I have one major horse related goal, it’s to ride and show at the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals next September when they are 3 hours away from me just outside Chicago. My plan is to show in the Breeders Sweepstakes Green Working Hunter Derby. Obstacles in my path? Well, my horse is neon green broke and only walk trots, she has never jumped and neither have I. I have less than a year to get her going and jumping about 2’6” lololol

Family goals, I have an amazing son who loves to ride and I want nothing more than to see him succeed at it and be happy with everything he does!

  • Happy birthday!

I am turning 23 on November 11th, and while I'm fully aware that "my life is ahead of me", so to speak, it still feels weird that nearly all of my childhood friends are married and having kids. I'm seeing baby pictures all over my social media, while I'm just working, and going to college classes one at a time (not even done with my associate's yet because I'm stubbornly refusing student debt, which means I can only take classes as I can afford them). I'm doing my best to remember to take things slow, lol, but I want a master's and maybe phd in raptor research, a custom-built home, and eventually a family on top of that, and part of me wonders how all that will ever happen :P

I know it'll come, but it feels crazy some days! And of course on top of that I'm trying to write a book with my best friend because, you know, why not add another life goal, right? :D

  • Happy early birthday!

I have a few years on you (almost 12). I was told I would never have children, but ended up with two very much miracle babies. So you never know what life will give you. :)

My goals? To get these two through high school (my son is done this year, and my daughter has six more years after this year), and then move out of this house and into the country. I want a small farm (10 acres or so) where I can have my own horses, chickens, goats, fruit trees, garden and fish pond. I'd like it to be as self sustainable as possible. I miss being on the farm, and I would love to be back there again. I'd ride all day or fish all day if you'd let me.
  • Happy early birthday ❤

Even though I've never owner my own horse, I've always loved them. My whole life when I was little, revolved around me trying to convince my father and mother to buy me a horse- but we lived in an apartment complex and we weren't financially well off, so that never happened.

Well, just recently, I participated in my first ever junior rodeo on my sisters Arabian/Thoroughbred, (I barrel raced. Woop woop!) and I not only fell in love with the sport but also (if this is even possible) started to love horses even more. Well, the rodeo took place in an area that had thousands of wild mustangs running around, and after pointing them out to my sister she noted that the government (in my state at least) pays whoever could catch them a handsome sum, no matter what condition the horses are in.

Now I freaked out. I've heard of horse slaughters before, but I didn't know that PEOPLE WERE PAID MONEY TO CATCH THOSE BEAUTIFUL CREATURES and to sell them to auction houses. If the horses didn't sell, they would be sent to the slaughter.

I cried when she told me that. After a bit more talking, I came up with an idea. I wanted to start my own mustang rehabilitation center, where some could roam free and others would be broke and sold to help pay for everything. Me and my sister planned everything out; as soon as I graduate highschool, im moving in with her and we are going to start saving for our own land. (Im turning 17 this year, so I only got a year to go!)

I know its a huge and daunting task, but its one that im willing to fight and work for

  • Sorry for the long read :)
  • Maria that's amazing:)
  • I’m turning 30 in November. :-O

I’d always figured by now I’d have a few kids and a small farm to have my horse at home (and a new paint yearling to keep my boy company lol). I’ve started to come to terms with the fact that I’m not likely to have any kids any time soon or a farm for at least a few years but I can still dream.

Although things may be looking up. We have a new manager at work above our asshat of a chief operator so hopefully he will be getting his attitude back in check and things will go back to being more enjoyable. Also I have an interview to move up into a Full time position from part time operator on Friday. (As long as asshat doesn’t ruin my chances because he has got a hate on for me and the other part time operator that’s applied and a few other workers for no reason that anyone can see or understand) I’ve also applied to the full time contract position but that just closed today so no word on it.
  • Happy, happy, happy early birthday! I hope you can find some joy and fun in your special day : )

Many of my closest friends are childfree, but I also have a lot of friends who either are or want to become parents. It's not the choice for me, but I understand that having kids is something that can be really important to some people. I hope you can find happiness where you are, and achieve all your greatest wishes in life!

P.S. Your goat Cyrus sounds really cool!

I wanted to become a RVT around the time I realized my body was falling apart in a "not gonna get better" kind of way. I was interning with my vet that semester, and I had So Much Fun. I live vicariously through my best friend, who is currently in vet tech school. Enjoy your awesome dream job!

My main life goal for the past decade (well, 20 years, but it didn't consume my life as much in my teens) was getting diagnosed. I did it! As of a few weeks ago, I Officially have two major headliners (EDS and muscular dystrophy), and quite a few party tricks that come with them. Maybe I haven't been able to finish college yet, or buy a house, or take a shower without a babysitter to make sure I don't die [my blood pressure goes wonky and I fall a lot], but I Did A Thing! It is SUCH a relief to have answers, knowledge, and be able to say "I told you I was sick!" to all the incompetent MD ninnies who suggested I was just depressed and should smile more.

I haven't really come up with new life goals other than Travel, Travel, Travel, because I've been filling my schedule with specialists to try to control the damage done to my body. My flavor of MD usually hits hard in the 30s and 40s (I learned this when I was 29, yikes), so I want to utilize my remaining mobility to see as much as I can see. Use it or lose it!

This month, I've racked up a few thousand miles, although 95% of that travel has been to see my specialists. For real, these people and their appointments are interfering with my breeding plans, and it's starting to get old : P While I'm not sure I call that a "vacation," we always try to incorporate something fun into the trips.

I started hippotherapy last week, and it felt SO GOOD to be back on a horse! I'm riding a beautiful warmblood mare. My exercise physiologist wanted me to set a goal to work towards, so my fitness goal is: be able to tack up a horse, ride her in a lesson, and still walk well enough afterward to untack her. Right now, I can ride a recumbent bike for about 4 minutes, and lift 1 lb weights. There's quite a way to go, but I'll get there!

P.S. Thank you for asking about our dreams and goals! This was very therapeutic, and it is a lot of fun to read about what other players are up to in their not-HaJ-lives!

  • Happy birthday! I remember 30 was a big year for me—I married the love of my life that year!

Don’t let that ticking clock spoil your enjoyment of the every day. There are so so so many ways to be a parent if that’s important to you. We decided not to go down that road for two legged babies, but we are totally devoted to our nieces and nephews and also stand as godparents or potential guardians if-the-worst-should-happen for several of our friends’kids too. I’m actually an adopted child so don’t forget there are more ways than carrying a baby in your uterus to become a parent!

It sounds like you’re steadily hitting other goals, and that’s so important. I’d say the big goal we are working towards is our very own house...and since asbestos riddled shacks sell for nearly a million dollars here in Brisvegas, that’s going to take some more time and saving....though @Crystal93 it’s even worse down south where you are and I’m wishing you a modest lottery win to help you hit your goal!

The other goal/dream I’m sort of flirting with is to write a book. I’ve thought about it forever and can’t quite seem to gather the courage to get started, but I think I’m getting closer!

Just remember, 30 is way younger than you think it is. My teens were pretty crappy, and I didn’t really become a worthwhile human being until I was well into my 20s, but my 30s have been a lot of fun and hard work but fulfilling and gratifying and just really enjoyable! So don’t be scared by the number, get ready to enjoy the next step!

I don't need anything, but I hope your birthday is amazing sister! :x
My goal is to eventually have my two mares in my backyard.. once I stop renting. Ha. I'm so happy you get yours that close! Mine are currently 35 miles away.. free, but it's killing me..
Right now I'm just trying to keep my head above water financially, meanwhile my Bf is taking me to Europe on Tuesday.. Paris then Munich for Octoberfest!

  • @Cheers NaNoWriMo is coming! You should do it with me! The most important thing I learned this past month: write a big piece of crap, because you can't fix a blank page. Since finally drilling that into my head after years of "we should do that", my friend and I broke 50k words just since September 1st and are still on a roll! Book two is our NaNoWriMo project. :D

  • I hope you have a fantastic birthday :)

My life goals are similar to a lot of people’s. I hope to save up for my own little piece of land to keep my dogs, horse, chickens and future goat kids happy. Not sure when I’ll get there but I really hope it happens. Finding places to rent with indoor pets is not easy in my neck of the woods (QLD Australia).

I turned 25 in December and all of a sudden I’m realising that my teenage years were awhile ago and 30 isn’t too far away. It’s daunting seeing all your old school friends get married and have kids; meanwhile I’m working a meaningless job living in the house I rent from my parents in the same small country town I grew up in.

There’s not much to do around here and I don’t have many people to socialise with, so this game gives me something to do when I’m not at work cleaning cabins or helping with weddings. I got a degree majoring in Animal Production that I haven’t used since my job at a goat dairy ended, so I’m thinking of going back to uni one day and studying in an area that actually has a job at the end of it!

Thanks for the interesting discussion post :)
  • @Cheers @Lallyhop We should all be writing buddies! I have a school schedule that makes writing rather impossible, it is hard enough having time to manage the school writing workshop, but I can definitely try to cheer lead. Stories are awesome!

  • Happy birthday weekend!

I turned 40 earlier this year. Time does not slow down, so you might as well fill it with things you love. I've been meeting some big goals in the last couple weeks. I found a place to live after almost a year of being homeless, I helped my adult child move into his first place on his own. I returned to working part time, and I let my bestie talk me into letting her live with me... Oh and I returned to medical treatment after almost 6 months of being pissed off at all the doctors.

I haven't decided what my next goal will be yet, as I'm kinda basking in accomplishment. I'm pretty sure it looks like coming up with a down payment for a place I never have to move out of, but after the last year I'm not sure that place exists.

As for babies... I'm on the PCOS train. I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant 2 weeks after my 1st husband moved out, 13 years of fertility treatments were not enough to cause a repeat. Instead my 2nd husband brought me my bonus child. He was 14 when we met, he'll always be my son. Sometimes life has a plan before we do.

  • I turned 30 in June lol. It's not so bad.
As for goals, ehh, I don't like to set them much. Not that I don't have them, but if I say I will have this done by this time, I usually wind up disappointed lol.
My husband and I moved onto our place 3 years ago, renting to own 8 acres. Somehow the nearly 2 acres our driveway runs through was not included and is owned by a neighbor. We are buying it outright come springtime! After that, we'd really like to tear down the house that's here, it's not much and is really tiny for 3 of us, and get a new mobile home moved in. Other than that, my goals are to be happy, ride more, and try to keep up with my wild child 3 year old. And maybe, just maybe, have him a little brother or sister. If not it's no big deal, my husband and I tried for him for 9 solid years before we were blessed with him. I don't know if we will have such luck again. Nearly lost him back in June to a horse kick, but 10 days in ICU and he pulled thru! He's healing up well and you can't tell anything ever happened to him. We go at the end of October to see how his kidney is doing and hopefully get the all clear from the doctors. I'll be glad to have it behind us. He is my goal lol.
  • Happy Birthday! I am currently 58 years old and can honestly say I have enjoyed every age. I do not feel old and the thought of turning 60 soon does not bother me at all. It will be just another morning. My 30s were amazing as I had both of my children, and fortunately I was a little more mature than I was in my 20s.
My goals now are planning for retirement, updating the house and travelling. Life is good. Sure there are bumps along the way, but I am comfortable in my skin and no longer feel that I have something to prove. I love this age.
  • Happy Birthday!
I second what Cheers said. There are lots of other ways to make a family, and adoption is a wonderful option if you're open to the idea. It also can take away some of the pressure of the dreaded biological clock! Lol
Just enjoy life to the fullest and everything will work out in time.

As for me... I'm 26 and am still looking for my first full time job. Talk about yikes! I've spent most of the last 8 years in higher education. First a bachelor's in 4.5 years, then a year off, followed by my first Master's in 18 months only to turn around and start a second Master's which I'm halfway through. You'd thinkthat I have no idea what I want to do with all that schooling, but it's all been baby steps and moving back and forth between the same areas. I currently work as an intern in an Athletics Compliance Office as training experience to get that first job!

Other than getting that full time job, I'd like to settle down in one place for a few years. The current average is about 1 move every six months. I call my apartments home, but they're really just a place I live. Inside feels like home but outside is just a place I am. One day I'd like to build a house, get married, and get back into horse ownership, but I'm not putting any timetables on those. It's not worth the added stress!
  • Happy birthday and what a wonderful thread to read! The energy here is so inspiring.
I will be 38 oct 4. I remember turning 25, and 30, and found them daunting milestones, and I have mixed emotions getting so close to 40. I have a 10 year old son, who is destined to be my only biological child. In 2013 I was diagnosed with appendix cancer and it’s resulting condition pseudomyxoma peritonei. Between 2013 and 2016 I had 2 major open abdominal surgeries, including a total hysterectomy, and 2 grueling rounds of chemo. Even after that there are still tumors in my abdomen. I also fainted and fell a few times during chemo and caused lasting damage to my spine. I was a vet tech for 15 years but do not think at this point I will ever work full time again; being a mom and a patient uses up most of my spoons every day!
My goals involve making the best out of whatever time I am granted. I would love to travel more, but on disability “fun funds” are always tight. Really I want to make sure my son has the best foundation he can have to be a happy healthy whole person. I want to work on training with my dog, meditative practice, art, and securing our own home.
    Love and light to all!
  • To everyone struggling with medical issues, I hope you all continue to improve and can do all the things you want to in the future. It really puts things in perspective that while I feel like I’m going nowhere, just to be 25 and healthy really is a lot to be grateful for <3
  • Everyone can pick 1 straw from my studs. If you don't have an upgrade pm me and depending on how many there are I can give plenty out.
Is there something you have been saving for? New barn? A gmt? Etc?
    Please post your id

Im trying to save for a couple gmts for my new hidden gates boy. But honestly, Id be happy with anything :)

Thank you so much for sharing, it takes a lot to open up like that.
  • Happy birthday!

I turned 45 this year. The love of my life and I have 4 children. With 29 I was told, I would never be able to have a child of my own naturally, and even IVF might not work. During my initial examination to start off the IVF procedure, the Doctor told me:"I can't help you...you're pregnant".
After our son, we were told, a miracle like this will not repeat itself. If we want to have a second child, we better start practicing as soon as possible. My daughter came into being on my second cycle after the first pregnancy.

    And our third baby (boy).
    And our fourth baby (boy).

What I mean to say by this is: don't get yourself down for some utterly randomn deadline. 30 is not the end of the world. You are just really coming into yourself, shedding the foal coat, so to speak.
If it's the right person, things will fall into place.
    Enjoy the blossoming relationship!

You're too kind for doing this. Thank you. And I agree with Cheers (I'm adopted too.). Thank you for sharing your story with us.

The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.

  • Happy Birthday :)

This year I turned 48 and My life isn't all I wanted it to be. With problems at school I quit when I was 18/grade 10. I stayed on my parent's place and keep a horse of my own as well as working with my families other horses. This is where i fell in Love with the Arabian Horse. A few years later I bought a gelding and loved riding him. I couldn't afford to go to show or get professional training.
As i picked up odd jobs, i realized I needed my high school. Went back and it took me 4 years with my mom dying in the last year. I then got a job most people hate, but the pay was great. A telemarketer. Bought my self an Arabian Filly with Bask lines. My dream was to show her. but after starting to train her I became sick with depression and forced to give up my job. Training my filly my self and with the help of a local trainer we broke her to ride. Best horse I had. A few years later I got married and had to leave her behind. Seeing her as often as I could.
The worst of all was my sister dying and I having to sell her. She was 21 years old. Broke my heart. Later that year I was diagnosed as being bipolar and having severe chronic depression.
It have been 6 yrs and because of all my medication, I was unable to have kids. The human kind. I have now living with me, a parrot and 2 chihuahua's. I am also left with sever shakes and when I found this game i am more relaxed.
I wish that one day they will come up with better medicine so I don't need so much. Maybe after pot is legalized here in Canada.lol.
Sorry for writing a long page. I have days when I am good and others when I am bad. Sorry to ramble.
I feel better to know that I am not alone in this game in having problems.
    Again happy birthday. :-B
