All players that joined in the month of August 2016 are eligible for a free foundation mare from Confluence Farms, and a breeding to the foundation stallion of your choice from my herd!

All you have to do is respond to this post with the words "Hi Dena!" (that's me...I'm Dena) and tell me your barn ID. We can chat about what you think you might like in a mare/stallion combo and I will buy you a mare from the Foundation Rescue (they are perfect foundation horses...they have the highest test scores a horse can start out with on this game) or give you one of my mares. The we can look over my foundation stallions and see which one you like best. I will then arrange to breed the mare from the Rescue to the stallion you picked and GIVE you the mare and the foal.

This HAS to be done before August 28th when breeding closes.

This is awesome! I've never been able to join in on the big giveaways because I dont make a ton of money but I would LOVE to jump in on this if you wouldnt mind a partner!

Editing this post to add: I will also be doing the same thing as Dena. So each new player will get two perfect foundation mares of their choosing and the one you get from Dena will be bred to whichever one of her foundation boys you choose and the one you get from me will be bred to whichever one of my foundation boys you choose!

Hi Amelia! Hi Scaequestrian!

First thing we gotta do is pick out your mare. Check out the horses for sale in the Foundation Rescue. Have you guys looked at the Search horses page yet? (it's under Community on the menu on the left side of the page). The Foundation rescue is owner #13. So set the Search to find Mares, over 3 years old (because they can't breed before they are 4), and put the number 13 in the owner ID box. Since it's the Foundation rescue you don't have to select Any, For Sale, For Auction, or For Breeding. All the Foundation Rescue horses are for sale.

Let me know the ID# of the mare you want (in the rescue the horses name is its ID#. If you want to copy the link in the menu bar at the top of your screen and paste it here that will be great, as well), and I will buy her.

If you run into a snag and MoonAcre and I aren't around, feel free to start a new forum thread and just about anyone can help you out.

I got her, Amelia. Do you have a stallion (from the list on my first post) in mind? I don't have any draft stallions, but Silver Ending is 16h and has 2.19 in of bone, so he might make a big baby. He is one of my special creates; he has Galustra Plume and will pass on one GP gene at least. It will only show up on bay and buckskin horses, but it is one of the more rare genes, and honestly, his stud fee is REALLY high, so you'd be getting a terrific deal!
Big Black Cat and The One That I Want have better showing scores (PT), so if that's your main concern they might do better. The One That I Want is another of those special creates; He has S+ (sooty plus) and his kids will be pretty dark chestnut & may have dapples.

You are welcome to pick any of the others, though, if you prefer them!

Amelia- go ahead and pick another mare from the foundation rescue and that one will be from me! And you can go through my foundation boys and pick which you'd like her to be bred to! The link is in my first comment (I edited it to add some things)

scaequestrian- when you go to look through the foundation rescue to look at which mares you want be sure to pick two because you will be getting one from each of us!

Dena and I have decided that instead of giving another mare and breeding in addition to hers I will be giving everyone who comments a show horse. While show horses aren't NEAR as fun as breeding horses you NEED show horses.....LOTS of show horses! The ones MoonAcre has up are a REALLY good start, 300 all time points is excellent! It takes several months (game years) for a horse to get that many points, and the more points you have coming in, the more showing bonus you get.

Go to some of the stables of the bigger stables and take a look at how many show barns they have, compared to breeding horses. Heck, I'm not a big stable, but check out mine. My ID# is 1998. Do a search for all horses owned by me, that are spayed or gelded (unclick the mare and stallion boxes). Those spayed and gelded horses are bringing me in @12,000 every night!

Sorry for taking so long to reply! Silver Ending would be a perfect Stallion IMO. And of it is ok, I would love to be surprised by a show horse from MoonAcre, I've just started playing this so I feel comfortable seeing what you seasoned members pick for me :)

Good luck to you all and welcome to the game. Look in the auctions and at horses for sale often for high "all time points" to add to your show herds! You can show breeding horses and you should! But the spayed and gelded horses are usually the real money makers! but make sure youre not buying an old horse! they can age out of the game at 18.

I had a mare that came back as a show prospect,and not a good breeder. Was it right to spay her? Now it only says spayed mare though the show prospect part on her page went away

Double Horseshoe - The spot where it says she is a Great Show Horse is the name of her tattoo. She was a Herd Helper horse, so you lucked out, because she is going to be a good breeder AND a good shower!

Sunflower - Did you run your mare through the free testing? The Free Mare Advice will tell you if she is a better breeder, or a better show horse. Read the instructions because it will spay the mare automatically if she is not a good breeder. Spaying gets her extra training benefits, so you probably did the right thing to spay her.

Here's the how to find the Foundation Rescue:
Go to the Search horses page (it's under Community on the menu on the left side of the page).
The Foundation rescue is owner #13. So set the Search to find Mares, over 3 years old (because they can't breed before they are 4), and put the number 13 in the owner ID box. Since it's the Foundation rescue you don't have to select Any, For Sale, For Auction, or For Breeding. All the Foundation Rescue horses are for sale. Then click search.

Kisababy, bummer about the filly, but feel free to get a hold of me next month if you want another try. Owner Operated has a pretty decent stud fee...since he is a pasture stallion you will need to send me a private message so I can pull him out so you can breed to him (unless you are upgraded and can use a straw, then it's a bit more expensive).

Remember if you dont have an upgrade to make sure you go to the "train your horses" tab and train them all and then enter them all in shows! You train them once a week and they show twice a week. If they have a little orange arrow next to their names it means they can be shown again. If you do have an upgrade they automatically train and there is a button that you can click that "shows all horses" and if you have multiple barns you can set them up for auto showing. Just in case any of you didnt know that!
