Starting new breeding line advice
-
So I’m wanting to start a nexus line strictly from the ground up. So I would obviously need to start with foundation nexus pairs. I would need 4, obviously, to start. I know you can no longer purchase them so...
Question: Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could go about that? If anyone has nexus foundations they could send me straw from that would be amazing. OR create an embryo for me with a straw I send (if I can get a foundation straw.) or between a mare and stallion foundation pair you already have. -
There is only a couple of foundation nexus in the game...but if you search them with only the foundation box checked you might be able to message the ownersWatercolor, Chinchilla, Axiom, Nexus, Wrong Warp, Nacre, Ice 5/8, Satin and Pearl
-
I didn't look real hard cause I was just determined to add nexus, so I'm introducing it to my 3g ladies when the little fellow I got from a lucky straw got multiple right things. Which is ok because that gives me 2 crosses to line up girls I want to breed for nexus.45120
-
Could you tell me how to go about that? I still haven’t been able how to pull up results with using the genes.
-
There are precisely 5 living foundation horses with NX in game currently. 2 are no longer of breeding age and belong to the Shooting Stars club of which it is a closed version of Nexus. 1 is owned by Ammit and crossed with watercolor but unlikely to be available to the general populace (possibly considered a shooting star). That leaves you with the last two on this list as possibilities for obtaining straws and eggs. I'd reccomend shooting their owners private messages. Good luck! http://hj2.huntandjump.com/adv_search.php?runsearch=1&status=any&ageg=&agel=&agee=&erag=&eral=&erae=&heightg=&heightl=&heighte=&boneg=&bonel=&bonee=&f_basic=none&f_adv=none&f_limit=25&stallion=1&mare=1&foundation=1&name=&name_lm=like&color=&color_lm=like&owner=&owner_lm=like&breeder=&breeder_lm=like&sire=&sire_lm=like&dam=&dam_lm=like&barn=&barn_lm=like&pasture=&past_lm=like&tattoo=&tat_lm=like&tat_and=and&club=&bc_lm=like&bc_and=and&e1=&e2=&a1=&a4=&a2=&a3=&f1=&f2=&p1=&p2=&s1=&s2=&s3=&c1=&c2=&c3=&d1=&d2=&g1=&g2=&ch1=&ch2=&z1=&z2=&sa2=&sa1=&mu2=&mu1=&chn2=&chn1=&kit1=&kit2=&kit3=&kit4=&kit5=&kit6=&kit10=&kit11=&kit12=&kit7=&kit8=&kit9=&sp1=&sp2=&sp3=&spM=&pax31=&pax32=&rb1=&rb2=&o1=&o2=&l1=&l2=&ice1=&icei=&ice2=&ice3=&ice4=&ice5=&ice6=&ice7=&ice8=&ice9=&ice10=&ice11=&ice12=&ice13=&ice14=&nexn=&nexx=1&nexr=&nexg=&nexb=&nexw=&rainr=&rainwt=&rainpl=&raint=&rainna=&brindle1=1&brindle2=1&wf1=1&wf2=1&wf3=1&wf4=1&wf5=1&wf6=1God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,

What would be a good way to pair up my 2g to insure BA passing? I already have 2g straws so that’s a good idea.
-
Thank you so much!!

You can also “start from the ground up” with second or third gens. Foundations may be a little difficult, lol. There should be several more options for getting early gens than straight foundations.ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

I’m having a hard time finding any lower gens. Especially not being able to figure out how to use the public horse search properly.
-
Pairing your 2G the most likely way to get a viable baby is match paper to paper but be prepared Nexus has a penchant for not passing when HOM (I think the Goddess Arengee just likes to laugh at us mere mortals) so you might get some dead ends before you start getting intacts, don't be discouraged though it will happen.God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,

Nexus wont show up in public search currently for sale.... I dont think Ammit has updated it yet so for now the only way to find intact nexus for sale is the chat rooms, auction and forum listings themselves. There also tends to be an easiar time of locating ones for sale if you dont mind uneven. Not that there aren't even bred they just dont seem to pop up for sale as often.God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,

If you breed HOM to Het Nexus do you have a better chance of getting intacts? Most nexus aren't really evenly bred. Do I stick to paper level for the best chance with HOM? I am trying to get a little help as I am still learning.
-
The genes have nothing to do with intact rate. Ceffyl was just making a funny comment about how it’s always the ones you love the most that seem to end up snipped. :P
When breeding, even or uneven, your best chance of intacts is always to match paper.
This won’t guarantee intacts, but paper matching is the best way to make sure the parents are as close to same quality as possible.
However, keep in mind that each paper denotes a range of breeding ability. B papering, for example, means the horse’s breeding ability could range from 101-105%. The hidden numbers of ability are how the game determines if a foal gets snipped or not - by whether the foal is within X percent of its best parent. If it’s too low, it gets snipped. This means an ExPerf may actually pair better with an A papered that came from a C/yellow (low A) than a 1% boosted B papered PF (lowest B) as the experf (top of the B/red) might be closer to the former.
Each percentage a horse can have can throw a certain range of percentage when paired with another percentage. The goal in maximizing intacts is to get the parent percentages as close to each other as possible, so that the foal has the best chance of getting a percentage that is as good as or even better than the parents.ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

There was a couple missing in the search above, so there is 4 foundation Nexus still out there and breedable, but as others have said, unless you get lucky and Nexus comes on sale again it will be very difficult to start a new line of Nexus. Plenty of Gen3 and up out there though

Learning how to use the search will make your life a whole lot easier. Which part about the search are you having trouble with?
When the search was first renovated to what it is today I spent time playing with it and changing one gene/requirement (all horses with EE, all mares) at a time to see how it worked and then started combining more complex requirements (all EE mares)
If yoy want to start with a smaller group pick a random horse from one of your barns and open it in a tab then on your barn page click view in search. One by one change different genes, gender, etc until that horse is the only horse showing on the page. -
@Bandit1119 Except the search has a bug wich makes it turn some genes off if you try to search on from another search. God, my english isn't working today... I have no idea if I'm even making sense today. But it will not save some genes when you do another search, so that is a thing to keep in mind when playing with it.
