Tacking Up? My Resources
-
To date, have spent more time purchasing tack packs than tacking up horses. However, the past several days have resulted in a small treasure trove of resources to help me choose colors for tack.
Simple to use, convertingcolors.com lets you enter the hex code for a base color and then shows you gradients and complementary schemes. This link: B0712E “Light Oil” from the tack tab - https://convertingcolors.com/hex-color-B0712E.html
Today I spent an hour trying to find the EXACT shade of purple to match my Big Floof tack pack to a horse’s leg color. Enter https://imagecolorpicker.com/en - upload or copy the URL of an image, then click on the area you want to match (or contrast/complement) to get that color’s hex code.
Here are two Watercolors I tacked up today using this site, in combination with convertingcolors:
SP Golgafrincham WTC
SP G2 Kansas City WTCDecision making is not my strong point.

I love playing in color manipulation to find just the right shade! Your ponies look great.
but most importantly - Golgafrincham! -
Your horses look great! And those are awesome websites you found. I will have to use them.
-
I use that colour picker site too for the feathered feets! Your horses look great!
-
I use chrome and they have a free browser extension that allows you to pick colors without uploading images. I think it's called ColorPick Eyedropper.
Does anyone know if you can change the color of the horse's socks (the lower part of the feathers)? I'd like to give my wild bays the low black socks they have without the floofers.ID# 43830

@htranch thanks for the website tip
Here’s all color options for the Big Floof. Red first, green second, and blue third in all instances.

If you don’t have Facebook let me know I can post a different link but I have to use the big computer to do it
On that note also I know Confluence has been working on a big project with all of the tack packs but I’m not a horse person as I mentioned before and I’m not familiar with how those things work (curb vs snaffle?) so I set my tack tack catalog up with each piece individually. Can be seen on my FB if anyone wants.
Decision making is not my strong point.

This is the site that I use to help me mix colors. Sometimes I want grey with a hint of red or purple

@colorgoodstables I use those too! Far less often though, so they didn’t get a mention here.
