Basic Members limitability

Sooo I understand the game has to update now and then , but people like me cannot afford to upgrade . And with these new updates , it makes it really hard for me to enjoy the game like I used to . For example , I couldn't breed this season because I have 49 of my 20 boxes full , which before I had 75. Not trying to sound rude , but what was the main reason all these new updates ? Like keeping basic members from papering mares/stallions , or performance testing , and taking away the advanced breeding labs ?
Also, taking away the lab , does that also remove the straws I have had saved ? -
Hoooold on, I don't think it's an update. :P Has your Basic Upgrade just run out, instead?
And I think the straws are just held in limbo until the lab is available again. :) -

Sometimes generous players give upgrades as gifts, if there's a giveaway or something going on. I got my first upgrade from a Secret Santa that was organized by some senior players and I got my second by IVs. I remember a few upgrade giveaways on the forum in the spring, so maybe you won it from one of those. :P

Yep you either got it gifted to you or you bought it without realizing lol. Nothing to do with updates!
