Tries not to cry, cries a lot
Grab a coffee and have a read.
Today started out like any other, browsing the forum, checking HH, going through auction horses, sorting barns. When I decided maybe I should start refining my breeding herd and establishing a show herd, that’s where I should have left it, at maybe. But no.

All day I have been going through my tiny barn of maybe 300 horses max, getting distracted by real life here and there, it’s now one hour to midnight my time, I decided I wanted snowflake horses some time today and spent a lot of money on them, my goodness they are some nice looking horses I have, continued going through my foals who are still with their mother in the pasture, you know before some crazy ghost lady comes in and steals them on the 28th pays bare minimum and runs off without a trace (security cameras can’t even spot this phantom lady).

I’ve gone through about half my herd when I think it’s a brilliant idea to bulk test my primary barn, what could go wrong, all important horses have passed sba, BOY WAS I WRONG, I should have stopped there, really thought about what commitment I was about to take, but no, whoop splash bang, I lost all my snowflake horses, my bootstrappers, my favourite mares that came in next month, I cried! What am I talking about! I am still crying, I spent so much on horses today to have basic show pony’s

I don’t breed for anything lol, I’m focusing on fun markings, developing an ice line and was trying to establish a snowflake line, I’m honestly gutted if you wait for Sunday auction I’m happy to pay :) thank you for the offer

I think I need to sleep on it for now I just sold a bulk load of them (sad part is that’s just my primary barn I still have my show pony’s to cull and pastures) so I will re asses the situation tomorrow, figure out who or what is to stay and who I lost where.

It’s super disappointing when you buy new horses and are excited for them and they get snipped by testing.

My barns are sorted by generation and I usually toss all the foals in their barns before running all the testing on them and moving the show horses out to a show barn. so my older horses get tested 2 or 3+ times before moving into a pasture. I’ve had so many outside bred horses snipped because I didn’t even think that there may be older horses I want left intact that haven’t been tested in with the babies I’m testing.

Being a beginner (only my second month) it makes everything a learning curb I have two barns the 15 stall one you get when you start and a 120 where my show pony’s play, I then have 2 extra pastures which break up my lethal and non lethal and my gen breeding.

I'd be willing to sell anyone with a U in front of their name (uneven by a generation). If you like anyone else, feel free to ask. I'd also sell straws from any of my guys. All of my mares have been bred, though, so I can't do eggs. I also have a whole bunch of het snowflakes if you want to look through my barns and pastures. Anyone with a small s behind the name :)

Oh my goodness thank you everyone for your help! It means an aweful lot, @DavilsParadise I have found one mare and one stallion I like but I just woke up and can’t function without coffee, @gracie3b thank you very much how about I buy them off you for pull price? @wildlands I was only bootstrapping to get me some high pt mares, your studs look like something I would struggle to afford. But I may pass I have one BS just got to turn off his testing!

I have added you to DragonChat and have put up some snowflake horses and a bootstrap stallion there for you. All have passed SBA so are safe against accidental testing. I will also send you some straws that you can use to add some zip to your herd.

I have previously accidentally done the SBA thing and wiped out a bunch of my bootstrap herd. . I felt nauseous at the time.

You guys have given me new life, so I have started having fun with my horses, all horses with ATOG in my horses name will have a story about why they are named that way, which I’m finding really fun, some are cute, some are funny (unless they are a rank special)
