I've Had The Most Unbelievable Day...
  • It all started when I was using straws this morning... I forgot Cherry Drop horses can carry any of the W genes, and accidentally used a CD straw on a Catch A Blue Moon Mare, and the foal was a lethal white. Okay, so oh well. No big deal. Then, I get ready to leave for work (I have to walk to a bus stop, take the bus). Well, almost missed the bus, got on, got to work. Then, a dumb driver in a car, almost hit me while I was walking. So, I almost got squished. Then, I get in to work, try to clock in, it won't accept my fingerprint (I was scheduled at noon, so that's when I clocked in; a lil early, though, like 3 minutes.) Finally got clocked in. Then, I check the board to see when they wanted to to go collect the shopping carts... Well, I get in at noon, I go collect carts at noon... Yay me... That sucked... So, I collect the carts, finish that... They ask me to put misplaced items back where they belong... And I can't find where half of them go... Then, while helping a customer find something, they call me over the intercom to go up front and help bag people's groceries... So, okay... That's cool, I don't mind... Well, my entire left shoulder just quits... I couldn't use it, really... I had to use my right arm/hand/shoulder...and then it started hurting... But I managed... Then, I went back and did more replacing misplaced items... still couldn't find several...I swear, I don't think we sell those products... Then, I go to clock out, it won't accept my fingerprint again... Finally clocked out. Went upstairs to get my things, nearly fell down the stairs as I can't see very well, and it was dark where I was in the store... Then, I took out my pay card and tried to check the balance at the ATM in the store... It kept telling me that my pin was wrong... So, I was charged $5 and my card was locked... So, I went home, called the company, they wouldn't accept any of the new pin numbers I wanted to change to. Ugh. Then, after 20 minutes, I finally get a human (yay, she's very understandable!) and she says I can make it whatever I want, and I did, and she unlocked my card, and refunded me the $5. Then, one of my PlayStation games seems to have gone out. Yay me. And my day isn't over yet. I just wanna quit now. I'm done. This day has won. :-S :'(

  • Oh no! :(
    I hope the rest of your days goes amazingly.

    I, too, had an interesting day.
    My two year old seemed off today and after his nap he came for a cuddle. He was burning up. I grabbed the thermometer and he had a fever of 102. So I left the kids with the boyfriend and went to pick up fever medicine. Since it was hot out, I had the windows rolled down. This big crappy white truck pulled up alongside me and the passenger shouted out some obscene things about the size of my chest. So I turn and end up two full lanes away from these guys.

    When they notice, they cut off people to get in front of me. They mirrored my turns last second to get to the store ahead of me. They kept driving around the parking lot to see where I parked. So I went in, told someone about them, then picked up what I needed. When I went out and returned to the car, I kept an eye on the truck. It pulled out to follow me again, so I took off as fast as legally possible (and making sure no traffic was nearby). I even took a different route home because it was just creepy.
  • @JheydaStables
    I was glad this morning that the car didn't hit me... Now, I have no opinion on that of which I need to state...

    And thank you...

    Oh, wow... That was an interesting day... At least you got away from the creeps... I hope your son is alright, though!

  • @JheydaStables I hope your kiddo is better soon! Like you needed creeps like that with a sick kid you're worried about. Good thing you're safe!

    @SpryOfJune sounds like you had the same kind of day I've had all week. Must be something in the air?
  • @Zuulai2
    Yeah... Seems about right... I'm beginning to think that August 2018 isn't a decent month for anyone... :(

  • I had that sort of day yesterday. Tuesday my barn owner texted saying that the vet got ahold of her and could come do shots Wednesday at 12:30.

    It was a bit inconvenient for us but better to get it over with so she agreed. Wednesday morning the vet calls saying she’ll be later getting to the barn and be closer to 1:30.

    So about 1 I start heading to the barn and when I stop to get the BO and I drinks the BO texts that she’s got caught up with something and could I bring the horses in and she’ll be down to the barn soon.

    I get there just as the other boarders dad arrives with their basset puppy (year old) that they have no control over he says he’s taking the dog to the valley and I grab my horses halter and head to the top field where the horses are halter Riley and start heading to the back field herding the old Percheron Nate ahead of Riley and I leaving the 2 mares to bring up the rear or pass and take the lead. Don’t care everyone knows where we are heading.

    Get through the back field and into the alley way that runs the length of the top and back fields and into the valley field and head back in the direction of the barn. Look over my shoulder at the mares and Peanut stopped and is facing the valley instead of the barn.

    Few steps later I hear her take off which spooked Belle who runs past Riley’s right side and spooks him and Nate so I let go of Riley because I don’t feel like a fight to hold on when everything’s fenced and they can only run up to the barn.

    Peanut comes flying up the Left side of us and as she passes me kicks out and catches me right on the thigh.

    Once I hobble up to the barn Riley comes up to apologize so I take him in to his stall, text the BO for some ice and bring the rest of the horses and the front field in.

    Kari makes it to the barn but then went back to the house for the kitty food and the vet calls again saying she’s running behind still longer.

    I have to work at 4 and at 3:27 I look at Kari and am like I can stay 13 min but then I have to leave so I can shower at work before I start because I feel all grungy and sweaty and gross. Just then the vet shows up. Riley gets done first and I run off to work.

    At work I dig through my purse than my bag then my pants looking for my keys and can’t find them so have to go through the front doors to admin to get a set of spares. I have a quick shower look through my purse again because I’m sure I tossed them in and find them in a zippered pocket.

    The supervisor left a note of things to do (98% of which is just everyday things we do every night) saying we should be working on it all night but the majority of it needs to be waited for so the public aren’t using it after it’s cleaned and needing to reclean it. He also left an illegible note about the Olympia but I can’t read 75% of the words.

    I work at a hockey rink so I have to flood the ice with the Olympia (different brand of Zambonii) between rentals and we are putting the ice in on the second rink so have to flood it by dragging a hose back and forth all over the rink normally a 3 person job but only have 2 people doing it and I have better coordination as the middle person rearranging the hose and pulling it in so the guy at the end doesn’t trip over it. Which means I’m hauling heavy hoses all over and taking on most of the weight.

    My leg is hurting but feels better when I move rather than sit still and let it get stiff. When I’m moving I forget so end up banging into everything.

    The Olympia has something going on and feels like the back end is just dragging and randomly starts digging in when it shouldn’t be so all the floods I’m sweet talking it into doing its job and not leaving me stranded. And the laser that measures the ice and tells the Olympia how much to cut for a level surface keeps dropping so keep having to push the button to get it back to the top.

    About 8pm head to the back to start another hose flood and hear alarms going on the second rink so had to figure out which alarm was set off and then go find the right key to shut it off. It was just an emergency exit alarm and not actually hooked up to the security system which was a good thing because by the time we found the right door and key for the box the security company would’ve called the emergency services.

    I scrubbed the lower lobby and took the scrubber to the back to empty and clean it out and the hose I normally use is zip tied to the tank we’re pumping water out of to build ice in the second rink so I grab the hose we fill the Olympia with and not even thinking that it’s double the width I turn it on full and the water shoots out, hits the scrubber and flies back soaking me head to toe.

    I do the final compressor check and readings and head to the front. I look at my coworker and as she’s trying not to laugh at my drowned rat state say I’m giving up for the night.

    When I got home took the dog out and as I went around the counter I caught the dog crate I had leaning up against it right on my bruise.

    Finally got to bed and my new Fitbit told me that it was the worst sleep I got all week lol
  • @Bandit1119
    Yeah... That doesn't sound good or fun... I'm sorry...

  • It’s all good.

    I have the sort of luck that things go smooth for a bit but when there’s a wrinkle it’s more of a constant crashing until the bad luck runs out and it’s somewhat smooth sailing for a bit again. So I’m sort of used to it

    And I can usually laugh things off within a few hours and just say seriously? Seriously? Lmao
  • @Bandit1119
    Yeah... That makes sense, to an extent... Life loves doing that to us...

  • Seems like a lot of us had very off days lol.

    Hoping you all have a good day tomorrow!
  • There are 8 planets in retrograde currently. We are all in for some crazy days :|

    @SpryOfJune

    Thanks guys~
    He seems to be okay for now. I gave him more Tylenol before bed. If the fever is still hanging on tomorrow, it'll be time to visit the doctor
    Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms
  • @MoonAcre Stables
    Yeah...
    Thanks...

    @CeffylDwr
    I have no clue what that even means... Lol...

    @JheydaStables
    You're welcome...
    Seems understandable...

  • @SpryOfJune basically when planets go retrograde it means they appear to be moving backwards in their orbit as Earths orbit passes them. In the strology world when planets move in retrograde whatever their alignment/emotions/controlling properties are tend to go haywire/become troublesome. Most common one to go retrograde is Mercury but this summer started with 5 planets in retrograde and is now up to 8 so it's a hold on to your horses and hang in for the ride as best you can time right now.

    Ah... I've never heard any information like this, so it's new and different to me... But I'll say it's good you could explain it... Lol... Well, guess I'll just have to hope and pray with everything I do... At least hope and pray it doesn't go too badly... Lol...
    But thanks for the information...
