  • Guys! Its twins! I can't believe it. This is a dream come true! I've always wanted twins of any kind! I wish I could post the ultrasound pictures but I cant on my phone. :((

Hi all! So yesterday morning I felt really nauseous and didnt really think anything of it because I have acid reflux and haven't been taking my stomach pills. This morning I went to nibble on a Hershey bar and it was almost like I didnt like it, which I know to be false because hershey's is my absolute favorite. So...I took a pregnancy test...and it came back positive! Me and my boyfriend have been trying since late March. But I'm still kind of in shock and a little bit scared due to me having a miscarriage 6 years ago this month. I'm super stoked but I cant help but have that in the back of my mind. The doctor i talked to, after getting lectured about not going to the er and getting a D&C said it wasnt my fault but I'm still nervous. And no. This isnt a joke.
  • Congratulations on your Rainbow pregnancy!! Stay in close contact with your doctor and be sure to go to all appointments. They may or may not call this pregnancy a high risk. Don't be scared by those words. That just means they're keeping an extra close eye on you both.

Remember to drink water and try your best to relax.

  • Thank you! I have to call early tomorrow and make the first appointment, my insurance lapsed and just started back up today. I'm worried about this heat. Its 98 and the ac in the toll booth I work in today doesnt work. So ill find out if they call it high risk or not soon. Water is going to be the hardest thing for me because I dknt generally drink alot but I know it needs to be done :)
  • Congratulations!

My clue was similar to yours when I was pregnant. I took a test when I threw up a breakfast sandwich not even five minutes after eating it lol. Now I have a 2 year old and a 3 year old.

Definitely make sure to keep in touch with your doctor, make it to all needed appointments, and just take it easy.

  • It might help you drink more water if you buy one of those infuser bottles and put strawberries/cucumbers/lemon/peach/whatever fruit you like in it. I normally hate drinking water, especially with how chlorinated it is in my area, so in order to stay hydrated enough I go for cucumber mint water and lots of tea, as well as buying jugs of distilled water (which has a much nicer taste) for when I do want plain water.

  • I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that all will go well with this pregnancy. I don't have any good advice that hasn't already been given to you. I only ever had one child, though it wasn't because I was making any special efforts not to have a second.

Staying hydrated and eating nutritious meals are certainly important. They can keep much better track of the growth of a baby now than they could back in the mid 70's when my daughter was born.

  • Thank you guys! It really is! I hope he or she stays with me. My nurse appointment, whatever that is, is on thursday!
  • Good luck

  • Congratulations and good luck!

I also find that a squeeze/slice of citrus in my water makes it more appealing. If you are into phone apps, there are some out there to help you remember to drink — I have one where I water a virtual plant every time I log a glass, which is kind of fun!

  • Yeah I've been doing good but it's getting hard @GeneverGinger. I got pedialyte to help keep my electrolytes up as well. I drank 4 bottles yesterday and I still felt dehydrated
  • Wow! Congo rats!

  • Super enjoy it! I know feel of trying and miscarriage. But dont worry about it. Just relaxe and enjoy all the mile stones happing in your belly. Soon enough you have a beautiful new life. Soon you realized you wear your heart in them.
Wait till they say their first words! Im excited for you...keep us posted!
    Thanked by 1Amgr1992
  • I will! @MakeMeABird I had my appointment the other day hadn't haven't reall th been on, the nurse estimated me at 6-8 weeks I find out on Tuesday for sure!
  • Congratulations! I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry and stress that will only work against you and the baby. Start the vitamins tomorrow you will most likely be put on Iron as well but wait for the docs orders after your blood labs are run because over doing iron, which directly affects your hemoglobin, can be just as bad. You will likely be labeled as High Risk even if everything is normal just as a precaution so don't let that scare you in anyway both of my pregnancies were labeled as such and both of my girls were born full term and completely healthy one is now 7 and the other is 6 weeks on Sunday. Sorry if I sounded like a to do list its a habit from being in the med field and is hard to turn off. Congratulations once again and definitely keep us updated!

  • Ok so I had the ultrasound. The tech was a witch. They told her the wrong time. So she does the ultrasound and goes "who told you you're pregnant, you sure dont look it" I'm like 10 at home tests and one at the office. Shes like fine we'll do an internal and sure enough there was the gestational sac. So I'm 5 weeks not 7 :)
  • Oh my god, congrats! That sounds extremely scary but exciting ♡ im sure the pregnancy will go well for you, (at least i hope it does) and there its totally fine to be worried. Ive never had a child myself, but ive helped my mother through two unplanned and VERY difficult pregnancies, (Wasnt enough fluid in the amniotic sac, heart beats were lost) it may sound like im trying to scare you, but lol i swear im not. As long as you get check ups every couple weeks and (i cannot stress this enough, although im sure you already know this lol) drink a LOT of fluids, the baby should be fine.

If i may ask.. what caused the miscarriage of the last babe? You totally dont have to answer, i get that its personal!
    Thanked by 1Amgr1992
  • @MariaChapinFarms3 we arent entirely sure. They estimate it as being a second trimester miscarriage and at that point the dr thinks their was something wrong with the baby. I didnt go to the hospital or anything, I was in West Virginia and didnt know my health insurance would cover anything
  • You will be fine

    Trust me :D
    Thanked by 1Amgr1992
  • Congrats - how exciting. It's easy to say but try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy - you probably have no greater risk than anyone else. Take care of yourself and plenty of rest because you won't get any in 7/8 months time! :)

I lived on Jamba juice when I was pregnant. It's the only thing I could eat. But man did it taste good. Lol! Listen to your body. It will let you know what it needs and wants.

Let your doc know everything and listen to what they say. I'm so excited for you!

  • Congrats. I hope your pregnancy and delivery go as smooth as my first one did. I had 4 miscarriages before I got to hold my first one. Just do exactly what the doctors tell you. If you feel off don't hesitate to speak up to your doctors either.
