Rollover dilemma
-
What do all of y'all do about the ponies you might lose at roll over?
Do you auction everything that is 18+ now and let the 17 yr olds roll over? Or just auction everything that is 17+ for the 2500 hbs?
I have 115 that will be 18+ at roll over. There are 8 foundation Liver studs that I could lose this time. -
I know some people auction them before rollover, but I have never done that. Some horses live untill their late 20s, and a few into their early 30s. Thats alot of cash when they keep showing and earning more and more points.
-
I keep them in the hopes they'll live longer, as as Maribo says they still earn you plenty of money, some of my horses will earn the 2500 in a week so I'd be losing out quite a bit is they survived.21170 ~ Breeder of quality Liver Chestnut and Chocolate Palomino riding horses and ponies with unique twists. I second Maribo's opinion and practice. I think, but I may be wrong, that each horse has a 20% chance of aging out of the game at the next roll-over once they reach 18, but I could be wrong.
Out of 3,196 horses in my stable, 61 are over 18. Most of them have well over 500 points, and some of them over 2,000. They are making a great contribution to my showing bonus.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I keep 'em till they bite the dust. I have quite a number of 20+ horses who are still going and may continue on after rollover :)#4519

Thanks for all the input. In the past, I have just let them die out. I've never had this many that might go at once, so wasn't sure what would be best to do.
I think I'll sell a few and keep a few and see how it goes. -
Me I keep all of mine til they pass away.
-
I just usually keep all mine, however if they don't have heaps of points, say maybe under 200 or 300, it could probably be worth putting them through the auction just before they turn 18
-
I did put a few of the lower point ponies in the auction last night. Out of the 115, I ended up with 47 left age 18+. I don't think that was too bad. I did take a big hit on my foundie studs. Only 1 of those made it.
