Don’t kknow which discussion section to post this in so I’ll just ask it here;

What does a Hom DP Bay and Hom DP Buckskin look like? I’ve tried searching Hom Ssty and I see plenty Het DP but I don’t think I’ve seen very many (if any) hom DPs. Does anyone have any possibly Hom DP examples of either or both Buckskin and bay?

@ParadisePark - thanks for posting Suspicious Blessing! I've kind of been suspecting if she has DP, so the fact that someone else thinks so suggests to me I should test breed her :)

Honestly, if I had a million dollars I'd just GMT all the DP/bay/dun/silver combos so we'd know what they look like for certain LOL

She for sure is at least Het DP but not 100% if she is Hom :D

These are my DP Buckskins. Some are sooty, some not. Wild Bay, bay and brown based. Some are buckskin pearl.

These are my DP bays. Again, various combinations of A+/A/At, Sooty, silver, etc.
DP Bays

If you have any questions as to wether a specific one is het or hom, feel free to ask. I am 99% certain on all of these.

It's been very interesting to see examples of Hom/Het DP and Sty on Buckskin as I breed quite a lot of buckskins (just by chance really haha) and am never totally sure if they are DP carriers or not so its wonderful to see examples. Since this thread seems to have some people who are good at spotting DP does anyone, maybe @Haltanny or @ParadisePark or anyone else who might want to take a guess haha, know what is going on with this filly? She is colour tested buckskin and is hom sty but she is a highly unusual shade that I've never really seen before. Is she Het DP as well? Or just a very odd shade of buckskin lol? Another player told me they had a similarly coloured Cherry Drop which makes me wonder about the DP :) Thank you!

Her colour is probably due to the wild bay? It definitely makes for an interesting shade of buckskin

Her sire is at least het dp so it may be possible that she is dp :)

Wild bay turns a bright red if they have DP. That being said, that foal also have appy, wich can skew the color a bit.

@maribo i know it turns bays bright red but not buckskin? Do you have an examples of a dp wild buckskin :D

Ahh, she is buckskin. Yeah, they have that greyish thing going on. I believe I have one somewhere.

I only have my Cherry Drops, and they are all SS for sooty, but I do believe they turn that greyish when they have Sty.

Nope, that's regular sooty wild buckskin. I have a lot of het DP wild Buckskins, proven because one parent is Hom DP. Here's one for example:
