I love this game so much. Part of the reason I’m where I am now in the game is because some amazing players helped me out when I was just starting. In that spirit, I’d like to do a show pony give away.

Anyone who replies and follows the rules below will receive 5 show ponies. They will all be 10 years old or younger and at least 4 of them will have at least 500 points, so these are well established ponies who will be around for a long time to help out your herd. I will pick the ponies from my herd.

What do you have to do to get ponies?

Give me your account number. Tell me your current daily show bonus (from your Member Home Page). Tell me your favorite audio book or podcast to listen to—I’m looking for recommendations! And, if you’d like one of your show ponies to have a particular gene, tell me what it is. I own almost every closed gene in the game (no Ice 13, and of course no Hom Chinchilla or Mushroom or Wrong Warp yet). If you want a show pony with a specific gene, it may be younger or lower pointed, so please choose these at your own risk. You’ll still get 4 fabulous ponies though!

If you want to share a recommendation but not receive ponies, don’t leave your player ID number.

I know I've been a member for several years now (you were the one that actually saved my butt from flopping out of the game by sending me Ouroborus and Salumbe :)) but I lost most of my good show ponies this month and last. Really enjoy the Lore Podcasts or Nightvale Podcasts. Audiobooks aren't really my thing but most recent book available on public market I've read is Rust, Gore and The Junkyard Zombie.
(not sure if it's available as an audio book sorry :/ )

I've been playing for 2.5 months and so far I've been sucked in. I'd love some show ponies with either Ice 3, 6, 11 or 12 as I don't have any of those in my show herd and I tend to collect closed gene show ponies.

Favorite Audiobook or Podcast: I still read books the old fashioned way so I can’t guarantee these will be available as audio but I recently borrowed 2 books from the library that I absolutely adored. “Strange the Dreamer” by Laini Taylor and “Uprooted” by Naomi Novik. I’ve recommended them to friends who have also enjoyed them!

Favorite Audiobook or Podcast: I haven't listened to it in a long time, but Welcome to Night Vale used to be my favorite. As for audiobooks, my favorite author is David Sedaris - his stories are so funny and he has a genuinely unique outlook on life. I'm sure you could find audiobook versions of his work!

To Kill a Mockingbird seems to be a popular choice! For those who haven't, definitely read the sequel/written before TKAM, Go Set a Watchman. The writing is gorgeous, and although some fans find it controversial, in my opinion it has the rare beauty of adding depth and perspective to the plot and characters of the prequel while still functioning as a stand-alone. Definitely one of my favorites!

My show bonus is over 50k so no need for show ponies but my favorite podcast is Myths And Legends. It is retellings of stories from all over the world. Some are ones that most people know and others are super obscure and strange. The man who hosts has a very nice voice and tells the story with lots of enthusiasm. I highly recommend it.

I love the following: Ghosts in the Burbs, Hello from the Magic Tavern, Major League Eventing, Finding the Feel, Giants of History, Unsolved Murders: True Crime Stories, Tales, and You must remember this. This is just the short list of my many many podcasts.

I love all the closed genes, esp axiom but a good horse is never a bad color!! def prefer riding horses to any others!

I'm not a new player, but this is an alternate account. I'm trying to do one where I use no real money. Blew that one on my first account my first month :)

As for audiobooks, I don't really listen to many, but I love reading anything by Terry Brooks, but the Voyage of the Jerle Shannara is probably my favorite of his. If you like fantasy, definitely give him a try.

Favorite Audiobook or Podcast: I haven't seen anyone mention CraftLit! It's run by a fun teacher who plays chapter-by-chapter audio of classic literature and talks about the historical & biographical context, as well as theme, character, and so on. Fantastic for anyone who loved their English classes! I believe there's a version of the podcast called "Just the Books" for people who don't want the "crafty talk" she does at the start of each episode.

@SquishLime - I *loved* Uprooted. Fantastic book! (I also read the paper version, so don't know anything about the audiobook or whether it's available.)

Podcast: I've never listened to audiobooks before, but I love the Welcome to Nightvale podcasts. I also found a pretty neat iphone app called Readercoin yesterday, there's a ton of books you can listen to or read for free and you get coins for every 10 minutes that you can buy gift cards and other stuff with :)
I love all of the closed genes, especially watercolor.

This is a watercolor horse. It’s a fantasy gene in the rainbow riot family of genes.

Monets Garden ExPro AtYZP

You can search for more examples (they come in a riot of other cool colors, and can be combined with other patterns and fantasy genes) by going to the Community Tab, and then Search Horses. On the horse search page, go to the Patterns tab. On the bottom right is the Rainbow Riot box. Click the second gene, Rwt, to Must Have and all the watercolor horses in the game will come up!

Watercolor is a closed gene, meaning you have to have bought the gene from Ammit to be able to breed it. However, like all Closed genes, anyone can own show ponies with the gene!
