  • Hi all :)

I'm from Western Australia, just started playing a couple days ago.
Have real horses of my own, 1 TB, 1 Arabian and eagerly awaiting my broodmare to foal :D
  • Hiya!
I've been playing for a few months (don't own any real horses though) I've seen a few of your other question posts, sadly I don't think I know enough to give you solid info though. But I'd still like to great you

  • Welcome! I guess I don't need to tell you to feel free to ask any questions! You've done a fine job of that already! :P
Its autumn in Australia right now, isn't it? Do you guys foal out mares in the fall so that the foals birthday is on Jan 1?

  • Foaling season in Aus starts in August, with Aug 1 standing as our horses' birthdays. It's extremely uncommon for horses to be stabled down here, with the vast majority of horses living in small paddocks or large pastures year round, so foaling in the autumn would not work!
  • Hey Skye! I'm from WA too (in Perth - I go to Wanneroo Adult Riders).

Welcome! This is a really great game and a good way to brush up on genetics.
  • Oh yeah! Sorry Skye! Welcome to an amazing game! Don't hesitate to ask lots of questions, as this is a great bunch of people on the forum!
  • Welcome to the game!
  • Welcome to the addictive world of Hunt and Jump. As the others have said, we are always glad to answer questions from new players.

I live in northern Pennsylvania in the United States and am a therapeutic riding instructor, though I've never owned a horse of my own. I get my horse fix from the riding program's animals.

  • Thanks all :)
Early baby for me this year.
Bit of a surprise, she coliced 5 days before she was to be scanned @45 days (after hours on a Friday night of course lol) vet refused to scan her while she was already at the clinic she did a blood test that came back negative so I put her back out in the paddock to try again later.
Well she didn't come back into season again, got another vet to come scan her and sure enough she was indeed in foal.
At 320 days now and bagging up, so exciting. She'll foal down in the paddock, it's almost winter here but daily temperature is around low 20° nights around 13°

That's cool mabelhavana I'm just east of Geraldton :D

Thanks for being welcoming everyone I'm enjoying the game so far
  • Good luck with the foaling!! Who/what is your mare in foal to?
  • Welcome SkyeWA , we seem to be getting a few West Aussies in the game thats awesome. Goodluck with your mare foaling . I live in the Rockingham area and while I don't have horses of my own right now, I have in the past. At the moment I assist at Riding for the Disabled .
  • She's in foal to Catrin Silmarillion- bay Arabian stallion.
My mare is plain black (true black) stallion has a huge blaze and two back socks.
I bet I end up with a plain bay colt haha.

Very cool there is so many west Australians here :D
  • People are awesome on thus game:-) let me know if your intersted in foals. I will sell for what I have in them. Usually 500 to 1000:-)
  • And still impatiently waiting for my foal!
  • Hope you aren't having any crazy weather like we are getting on the East Coast, Skye! This has been ridiculous this weekend! Would not be fit for a baby foal!
  • Have a low coming through now, heavy rain and gale force winds. About the rug up and brave the weather to check her.
Nothing like over east though! I have family in Wollongong, they said it was crazy!
Hope all is well at your place.
  • About to rug up**
  • Welcome to the game, and I hope everything goes well with your new foal. I hand picked the parents of the filly in my Avatar. She was a late foal for here in the USA though, she wasn't born until June 19th. A good friend of mine had an APHA breeding business where I boarded my horses. Foaling season was always exciting!
  • It was a bad couple of days, but other than a cold puppy, our worst damage is a couple of tree branches in the yard and some mud and leaves to vacuum up. I know people who had a lot more damage, so I'm thankful we got off lightly!

Hope your mare waits til the storm passes to foal down. Fingers crossed for y'all!
  • We just had a massive storm come through lucky it only lasted a few minutes. Hail thunder wind was scary. Lucky only a few branches down and some tin to clean up.
  • Hopefully I'll have a new addition in the next couple days
  • Oh man, the storm passed over us completely! I was waiting for it, too. We got a bit of rain, but nothing too scary.

Really looking forward to seeing your new addition. Hurry up, baby!
  • Your lucky! The only good thing we got out of it was the 20ml of rain haha.
I just need to work out how to put pictures on here now.. oh and for her to actually foal lol!
  • Finally she foaled. At 4.30am this morning :) bay colt with big blaze front sock and two back socks
    Thanked by 1jailee
  • Does anyone use the HJ Facebook page? I can't work out how to put a picture on here :/
