Im still going through the forum reading everything I can find on the DP gene and trying to train myself from the visuals but its mainly the Bays and Silver Buckskins Ive seen. I have this show girl I just bred out of two foundations and was curious about her. She tested as Buckskin and is for sure Hom Sooty if Ive read everything right so far but I cant tell if she has DP or not. Her Sire is Cremello Splash Brindle and her Dam is Smokey Blue Roan. If anybody could help me on this one Id be grateful.

Going through a few more foals from the same sire but two Black Appaloosa mares I found a couple more the have me scratching my head both tested as buckskins and are darker than standard are these two just sooty and what's the difference between these two and the first? Sorry I know I'm a pain :-<

I don't think they are DP but I'm not that experienced with DP on buckskin. The first is darker though because has two sty genes

Here's one of my Sty Sty DP buckskins for comparison. I'm probably not the right person to ask but it is possible your first horse does carry DP.

But the reason the other ones are lighter is as kintara said, they only carry one copy of Sty.

Thank you @kintara and @Kalilm I'm not keeping these three but figured they would help me figure this out a bit with so many wonderful and helpful people here I truly am grateful for everybody's help.

I'm still learning how to tell myself but here's a couple of my for sure DP Buckskins to see if they will help give you an idea. I'd say your top guy is most likely het. Fairly certain I sorted these guys correctly between hom/het but could be wrong I can confirm they are all DP.

I don't have time at the moment, but if you look at the foals from my stallions King Louie & King Louie II, all of there foals are guaranteed at least Het DP. They both have a variety of foal colors to look at. I can post some specific examples later, if you'd like.

You can also search my player number in the owner box & put DP in the name box, and it will bring up all of my (intact) confirmed DP horses. I have lots of assorted colors.

@CeffylDwr and @Haltanny thank you both VERY much for the visuals I'm gonna add this thread and search page to my bookmarks, my browser is gonna hate me by a years time on this game, I've been producing a lot of Buckskins lately and this is exactly what I needed to train myself. Hoping one day I'll be able to help others with this..... might be awhile though #-o :)
