Let's Talk About Your Old Favourites!
  • So... talk about a walk down memory lane. I searched up old deceased horses that I bred. I remember all the oldies I named, the first ones that I created, and it got me thinking, we've probably all got some of those that we remember.

I'm not quite certain why I have such sentimental feelings for these pixel ponies. I've grown attached. Maybe too attached, no that can't be right. :))

One of my very first creates was Commander Data. Yes, I'd been watching Star Trek, lol! There wasn't much by way of "special" genes in this old girl, but there was just something about her that I loved. I kept all but one of her foals (it slipped passed me into auction). Perhaps because she was one of my very firsts, I was rather sad when she passed.

Now her eldest foal is 17, sired by my very first perfect foundation herd helper stallion, Fancy Lines--who has also passed now. Despite the lack of genes I really breed for, I will be keeping her line alive as best I can. I've got some third generation mares that descended from her, and it makes me smile when I see my old Commander up there in the lineage!

Another lady that holds a special place in my heart is this beauty, Olivio Macho.

I bought her as a part of an old breeding project that I've veered away from now, but I couldn't bring myself to sell her. Maybe because her only intact foal looks like this:

I love this W2/frame pattern, it's stunning! Now this pretty lady is in danger of passing, and I've got no intact babies to continue this line. I'm hoping to get a good filly from her this season, but if not then it simply was not meant to be. I don't really actively breed for frame or W2, but it would be nice to keep a piece of these two going. :) We shall see!

Good ol' Robust here is another oldie from my beginning here, and true to her namesake she's still kicking! I hope to see her stick around a while longer, so hopefully I haven't jinxed it! She's actually got foals in several of my active lines (snowflake, KP, DP, axiom) so I don't think her bloodlines going away anytime soon!

I could keep going, but these ones seem to mean the most to me. Do you have any old lovelies?

  • Oh man, I joined a while ago, so my oldest horses are so old. I guess it's best to start with the very first, Minky!

I don't know why but I was so incredibly proud of this mare haha. Looking at her now, she'd be either in the showbarn or sold on but back then she was just the very starting foundation for my love of Bays on this game. I still have her very last decent where the line dies, I welcome you to Snot, a 6g gelding. His pedigree is most of my very first and still loved horses in game.

Another very special mare for me was Utter Nonsense. I think she was my very first rank special that I actually realised was something special.

Again, I was stinkingly proud of this mare, and my lead 4g stallion is a descendant from her :)

Ahh, and for my last waffle. I absolutely loved Polariod Snap!

She was probably one of the best producers I ever really had back then, and I had a load of great babies off her. I still have her dotted over all of my lines and show horses. Weirdly I wasn't going to keep this horse, but after a few babies I just keep breeding her on. My very first 4g *Gold mare is a descent of this surprisingly good producer!

From my foundations I really have deviated a whole lot. I breed mostly for Bay, Brown, Black, Grey and Tobiano :) Along the way I've sprinkled in some Rabicano, S+, White m, and DP. Looking back at my old horses it's easy to see how I ended up breeding in this game.

Moonacre gave me her when my brother passed away. I miss this horse a lot. It has been a year and a half since he passed. He is the reason why my love for horses is so strong.

He was the first baby born by Kangaroo. He was the baby in honor of my brother. His line even though he has passed I am trying to keep it a live.

Sandycreek gave me him when I first got started. I cried real tears when he passed. I now only have one of his daughters left in game which makes me real sad. By far Dancer and Joey will always hold special places in my heart. I am trying to combine these lines together.
