Who's a table top gamer? (Also I'll be at a booth all GenCon this year!)
-
The topic of tabletop gaming came up in the FB group. (https://www.facebook.com/groups/huntandjump/) Wondering how many gamers we have around.
We just started in on a huge new RuneQuest Campaign and just came off a 2 year long Edge of The Empire (Star Wars) campaign. What all do you gals/guys play? RPGs? Board games? I know we have some Seven Seas and Pathfinder players around too.

My brother used to play D&G, he still does sometimes when he sees his mates.
He also collects miniatures. Warhammer it think they are? All to confusing for me lol! :))
I stick to the normal board games like cluedo, though used to play a few RPGs on my tablet.
Used to play alot of hunting games and the typical COD and Battlefield.
Been ages since ive played any though :P●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

I wish I could go! Would be wonderful to see you there :D
I play in two DnD campaigns - 3.5 one, and 5e the other, each one every two weeks - and then run my own 3.5 campaign online for some friends. Also make my own maps for it.

God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time. -
Back in Utah (where I used to live) I had a group of friends and we played D&D, mostly just for fun we were not too serious about the whole thing. Heheh. I love tabletop games but unfortunately, don't have a fellow group of people here to play with. :(ID: 40723

I have been playing RPGs for over 30 years, Sci-Fi and fantasy type games including RQ and D&D. In fact we are still playing the same game with a group of friends that we started at Uni 26 years ago! :)

It's so cool to see people - especially women - playing role-playing games. I have been playing them since the late 70's - think I still have a first edition of D&D on my shelf.
For many years, there was a negative stigma associated with them.. they were games supposedly played by disturbed male teens and encouraged violence and suicide - which of course couldn't have been further from the truth. My best and oldest friends are people I met gaming 35 years ago. The truth is, role-playing games are creative and cooperative. I think now that the kids who started playing are grown and have their own families, games are seen in a much better light.
Women are still rare in the genre though, so it's great to see so many of you play!
I have played lots of them - but the old space game "Traveller" and the fantasy stalwart "Runequest" are my fav's. Runequest is particularly original and well thought out. I still get together with my old buds about once a month for a RuneQuest game.
I never thought I would find other gamers here!

I haven't played in quite some time for lack of a good group. My poisons included D&D 4e, Mutants and Masterminds, Rolemaster (AKA There's a Table For That), and Cortex.
I left my old group because I got tired of being talked over and ignored. I could literally write down my actions on a piece of paper, pre roll everything, leave the table, and my character would function just fine. It took them a whole session just to decide where to go because they could never agree on anything and none of them liked any kind of story. All they ever wanted to do was fight and dungeoncrawl.
I've been hoping to find someone to play with again but the people I hang out with either don't do that kind of thing or are just as bad as the old group.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.
Striving to become a quality Draft breeder. -
over the years I have played almost all versions of White Wolf, D&D, Rifts. Also lots of long term dabbling in Pathfinder, GURPS, Call of Cthulu, and all sorts of crazy homebrew over the years.
Lots of intense and detailed campaigns that spanned years, crazy oneshots, and everything in between.
I have been blessed to have known some flippin' amazing DM/GMs that take the experience to the next level, and players that are a blast.
My last group had regular sessions twice a week split over two campaigns.
Life drew us apart but I miss it so much. Some of my best memories and friendships have been made around a table with paper and dice and the occasional beer.
So many fantastic adventures and hilarious hijinks.ID# 47364
Breeding for all version of black drafts. (Including black liver)
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.
I work a 7day on 7day off schedule and my activity here will reflect that.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me. -
I play in an ongoing D&D 4e (running the Scales of War campaign) group that's been getting together once a week for the past 3 years! My group's healer is going to GenCon this year to GM a few games, but I forgot which game it was for.
-
Other than some random fill in stuff for a group of friends that actually got into D&D I didn't really discover cooperative gaming till 14 years ago. I then found a text based rpg world based on harry potter. In the last year or two the group I played with has kinda dissolved, but those stories changed my life.45120

I played mostly 2nd Ed D&D when I was a teenager. Right now I have a Pathfinder game running, and we just started a new Cyberpunk campaign. If one of the group can’t make it, we’ve been known to breakout some board games so that the story doesn’t continue without someone. I highly recommend Lords of Waterdeep and Zombicide. I’ve also dabbled with a few other tabletop games including All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Shadowrun, D&D 3.5, and Traveler.
I hadn’t considered going to GenCon, but I do happen to have a long weekend that particular week and going to a big Con has been on my bucket list. I was supposed to go to ComicCon San Diego this year, but it didn’t work out, so maybe I’ll check out GenCon instead…
Thanked by 1Ammit -
My husband is in two D&D 5e games right now and I'm helping him paint miniatures for them (both are meeting for longer sessions than I want to be away from our youngest, but he's planning to run a campaign at our house later this summer so I can play). We'd love to get up to GenCon at some point in future years to attend some of the content for writers, and getting to meet HAJ people would be a great bonus!

I played Runequest as a teen, but it's been a long time since I've played. I'd like to get into again, maybe with the new version, but I don't know a soul in Kansas. :/ Oh well.#28036

Hubby & friends have an ongoing Warhammer RPG. I mostly contribute with sarcastic quips and snacks. Hard to get the whole group together so the gm usually runs side quests for whoever shows now.
We have a decent sized Star Wars Xwing miniatures collection, hubby used to go to tournaments but that fizzled out when we moved, haven’t looked for a local shop. I take no pleasure in squad-building or tournaments for that but I’ll play him at home if he sets me up.
He’s looking to jump back into the tournament scene after the conversion to 2’nd ed this fall. Minis transfer over but all the ‘cardboard’ is getting replaced to go along with the revamped ruleset.
““X-Wing Second Edition will have an early release at Gen Con Indy 2018, with the wide release following on September 13th, 2018!””
~We’ll be at GenCon in spirit!
Fantasy Flight has 4 booths total, don’t know which one(s) xwing will be at but two of the booths are 809 and 817 so possibly right near you Ammit. That row looks like this:

Yes I'll be in with Chaosium Inc and they always end up next to Fantasy Flight. Edge of the Empire is another Fantasy Flight title. That's the campaign we just came off of. I never by FF stuff at GenCon though. Their booth is impossible to get into. :))
