Help me choose which gene to buy, and what horse to put it on!
-
So this upcoming month im gonna have a little extra money, enough to buy any one gene that is on sale. Ive been thinking about this, and i really cant choose which one to buy. (I love them all!!) Im absoloutley in love with ice9 and watercolor, but i also like thunderstruck and all of the axiom genes.. ugh, decisions decisions! can any of you guys show me examples of your horses, and tell me which gene you think i should buy?
Also, i have a small handful of guys that are contendors to get the gene (once its decided upon). Which one do you guys think i should put it on? (I personally think any of the genes would look fantastic on my VOS stud, but then again i have two perfect foundie boys that could almost guarantee intact foals, but theyre a little plain..)

Moon would be the only CaBM with watercolor in the game, he and your VoS are also perfect foundations so you don’t have to worry about them breeding wise.
There is one VoS with it:

Did the gene sale dates change? I thought it ends on the 30th of this month.Justa ~ ID# 44842

Seriously? It didnt really cross my mind that rank specials were considered a perfect foundation.. although now that you guys pointed it out, its quite obvious.
And i do agree that watercolor would look really pretty on him! does anyone know what a het watercolor horse looks like? Is the pigment more subtle? -
water colour only needs to be het to show however it just means your foals will have a 50% chance on inheriting the gene. the colour is not faded :)Thanked by 1MariaChapinFarm3

@JustASaddletramp sorry! I should have clarrified that i get my check tonight, and im planning on ordering it first thing tomorrow. I dont even know why i said next month. #-o

@milkyway2001 ahhh, okay thank you! I knew that if you had a het nexus and axiom horse, the gene would someone show but wouldnt look the same if it was hom. I just assumed that it would have been the same for watercolor lol

@MariaChapinFarm3 Oh good! I'm happy you'll be able to take advantage of the sale! :D
One thing to think about is that you can buy a gene het on your foundation horse, then buy breeding stock or straws and eggs with hbs. That's what I did. My little guy is het for Watercolor and won't be ready to breed until August, but I have two nice stud colts and a mare ready for next season and I already bred my first 2g foals from some of my foundation mares with WC foundation studs who were up publicly. That let me breed them to homozygous WC stallions and guarantee colorful foals. :)Justa ~ ID# 44842
