Hello !!!

Hello! My name is Sierra, and tips would be appreciated!

Hi, Sierra. Welcome to the wonderful world of Hunt and Jump. It's a fascinating and complex game that is remarkably lifelike in many ways. Don't worry if you don't understand everything right away. It takes a while to learn everything. We're a friendly group that likes to help out new players, so when you have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.
If you look through the Help Me Out category here in the forum, you will find posts from other players who were just starting you. You'll probably find some tips there.
At the bottom of the left menu bar are two helpful links. One is for breeding info, the other is the Genetics Guide, which is a work in progress, but may give you an idea of what horse color genetics are like. It wouldn't hurt to read over the rules, found there, as well, if you haven't checked them out already.
Tomorrow is the last day of breeding season for this game year, so I wouldn't worry about trying to do much breeding right away. The new breeding season will begin on June 2, and if you have a free account, you will be able to breed on June 3. That will give you some time to read and think about what you'd like to do.
Be sure to sign up for your new member pack at the top of the forum page. Ammit gives away an extra 15 stall barn and some extra game cash to those who have signed up. She's very busy with game programming and real life issues right now, so she doesn't hand out the gift every day, but she will get around to it before too long. The link to this offer is http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/4132/did-you-join-in-the-past-2-months-get-your-free-new-member-pack#Item_1.
Another program for newer members, or those with small stables, is the horse adoption program. Members with well established stables are offering horses for adoption for a minimal fee; many of them have already gained a significant number of points from showing. This is the major source of game income as you are growing your stable. Each week, you will be given hajibucks that equal 75% of the total number of points that all of the horses in your stable. The horses keep these points throughout their lives and continue to gain points as long as they are showing.
If you are interested in starting out your show string with a bang, go to Search Horses and search for horses with the tattoo, Available to Adopt. You can read about this program here: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/7877#Item_2.
Another helpful search for new players is to search for horses belonging to Owner # 13. This is the Foundation Rescue. All the horses available for sale here are Perfect Foundations. This means that they are as good as foundations can be at both breeding and showing. They are also perfectly consistent, which means that they will have the same score both times they show in a week.
Train your horses once a week and show them twice.
And don't forget to ask questions about anything that you aren't clear about.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
