Guess which one has DP (because I don't know)
-
Bred this wee thing in my champagne line. Was surprised when he came out without the champagne and even more surprised they he was blood bay (wild bay with a copy of dp)
So which parent would you say has it? Am I right in assuming atleast of of them have it? A single copy of sooty should make wild bay a chocolaty ash brown right? Dp turns them red

I have trouble picking dp in bays, but I think I can help you with the champs. My guess is that LovesMeNot has the dp. Gold champagnes with dp usually have a much redder hue than PaleGold.
Edit to add an example: I'm fairly sure this girl has DP, but I keep forgetting to test breed her.

I'm not sure your foal has DP. I breed for wild bay and this girl for sure is het DP and I'm not sure your foal is quite red enough to have DP. I'm not 100% sure but that would be my guess.

I think the difference is that your filly is hom Sooty, Painted Dreams. The one ColorGoodStables posted is only het sooty. :)Justa ~ ID# 44842

That makes sense. I'm not the best with identifying. Thanks for pointing that out.Thanked by 1JustaSaddletramp

We need a confluence chart for wild bay.
A+, SS, no Dp = pale
A+, StyS, no Dp = bright red
A+, StySty, no Dp = dark
A+, SS, Dp = brighter red
A+, SS, DpDp = brighter red [cherry drop]
A+, StyS, Dp = brighter red
A+, StyS, DpDp = brighter red
A+, StySty, Dp = bright red
A+, StySty, DpDp =bright red
one sty, no Dp

one sty, one Dp , sire definitely does not have Dp and Dam definitely does have Dp.

I would assume your foal did not have Dp till her offspring proved me wrong.
