Hello, I am new!
-
Hi! I really don't know how this website works yet so if people could help and give me tips that would be great! I am 17 and I ride and show Arabians. If you guys want to know other stuff ask and I will let you know. (Unless it is inappropriate or too personal ;) )
And Again, if any of you could help me out with getting started I would appreciate it! :) -
Welcome! The game can be as easy, or as complicated as you want to make it! The game creator/owner is active on the forums and very responsive. Have you seen the infomration about the Available to Adopt program yet? (http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/7877/the-available-to-adopt-program#Item_2) and have you entered for the new member package?
-
I don't know what any of that is!

THE best way to make game cash (haj bucks, or Hbs) is to have a good string of show horses with lots of all time points. A bunch of members will give you, or sell you really cheap, a good show horse, or two, to help you get started. Then they will help you out with questions and where to go next. -
Thanks!

You may want to start by creating a horse. Go to My Stable>Create A Horse, and follow the instructions. You'll have to decide if you want ponies, heavy (draft) or medium (warmblood) horses, then decide on age and sex. You're probably better off going with a mare that is 4 years old so you can breed her if you want (and if she turns out to be any good).

Thanks!

Hey there! Welcome to the game. It's hard to give generic tips (although Confluence is doing a heck of a job) so click around and see what's what and when you have questions, holler, we like to help. :D

Welcome to the wonderful world of Hunt and Jump.
You can find a basic tutorial on breeding by clicking on the Breeding Info link near the bottom of the left menu bar.
You should train your horses once each week. You'll find them listed in the Showing--Train My Horses section. Then you can enter them in two shows each week by clicking on the orange arrow at the left of the listing in your barn and selecting any of the available classes.
This is a great game for learning the specifics of horse color genetics. There's a list of basic genetic information in the Genetics Guide near the bottom of the left menu bar. It is a work in progress, so some sections are more complete than others.
If you check out the Help Me Out section here in the forum, you'll find questions other players have asked which might help you with questions you have too.
If you go to your pasture from the My Barns page, you will find a link for "How to use pastures."
We're a very friendly community and are always happy to help out new members, so don't hesitate to ask specific questions that come up as you begin to play this game. It's a complex one, so it takes a while to learn. I watched my daughter play for 8 months before I dared to start my own account. *G*
Our motto is "There's no such thing as a stupid question," and "No question can be asked too many times."
De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
