I merged to my side account this month, but technically I joined back in February. So I figured I fit into this category best.

How long have you liked horses? - Since forever! I rode horses from age 5-16 and owned several during that time period. I had to stop due to financial reasons, but I miss it deeply and hope to have a horse of my own again a few years down the road. I mainly rode English with a focus on dressage, but I know western, trail riding, and jumping as well.
Why did you join HAJ? - I had seen ads on Facebook for it since forever and I figured I'd check it out. I love the realism and the genetic aspects, and how much opportunity there is to grow as a new player.
What kind of pets do you own? I currently own two dogs, but neither live with me since my current place doesn't allow pets. Once I finish college in a year, my goal is to find a place that allows pets. They're both Whippets and their names are Dusty and Atlas. At my current house I have a whole bunch of fish to keep me company, and my roommate has a cat named Frankie.

What is something you are confused about with the game? I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I'm hoping to get a basic upgrade soon so I'm thinking I'll have question about new features then. But so far I think I have a handle on things, and everyone has been so helpful with answering questions!
Coke or Pepsi? Here's a fun fact: I've never had soda of any kind haha. I do like my caffeine in the form of coffee though. Mochas are my favorite.

I have liked horses ever since I can remember. I've ridden, rehabilitated, and trained horses for the last twelve years. Currently I own two Quarter Horses: Dallas and Zip, my old man whom I rescued and rehabbed (Fun story: last week he fought off a bobcat with only minor injuries! Eek!) I originally showed western pleasure, but now I'm really enjoying western dressage.
I joined HAJ because I'm at school and don't have direct access to my boys all the time. I'm also kind of a nerd when it comes to genetics, especially coat colors.
I'm totally open to finding friends! I love that this game allows for individual goals and collaborative effort. I've learned a lot from veteran players who have shared their wisdom and horses, and it's fun to watch the progression of players who joined around the same time as me.
I don't think I'm confused about many things right now, but there are lots of forum posts and buddy chats and things I can go to if I don't understand something.

Hello there! Saw the ad on Facebook and was bored so I signed up. Then like a week later I broke a toe at work so I was laid up a bit and got super into it.

Did a bit of trail riding as a kid, but it was more "look at us we're a family doing cool vacation things" type of deal.

I do not currently possess them, but I have two macaws as pets. I'll inherit them once mother can no longer care for them, but they like me better. Convinced my parents to buy the first one as a fledgeling(red-Green Wing Macaw). The second one(blue- Blue&Gold Macaw) we rescued from a chain smoker in a studio apartment near our house.

We had known someone else in the area had one because ours would yell and another would answer. My dad happened to be chatting with someone at the apartments and it turned out he was the other bird's owner. They talked food and stuff for a while, next day he came over to our house and offered us the bird because he realized he wasn't being a good owner and wanted the bird to have a better life. Look how cute they are together after 10 years of bonding.

Coke or Pepsi depends on what's on sale when the mood strikes me, but I'm horrible and drink the 0/Max varieties. Preferably cherry. But for carbonated beverages I usually go with seltzer.

More of a tea drinker tbh, I have like 50 varieties of loose leaf tea at the moment. Always end up adding the small "sample" sized bags to my orders to get up to free shipping when I refill my regular flavors. Lean towards smokey green teas currently.

Mmmm well I've had an obsession with horses ever since my mom tossed me onto the back of her friend's horse when I was about a year old, supposedly I screamed bloody murder when they tried to take me off XD

I actually originally joined years ago but life happened and just now getting back into it because I always love the coat genetics in horses.

Right now I have three cats, Harvey a 9ish month old orange tabby we rescued after Hurricane Harvey....Mia a roughly 5yr old brown sokoke tabby that just waltzed into our house one random christmas XD and Baby who's also about 5yrs old but is about 6 months older than Mia and is a seal point siamese that was feral. I've also got a 10 month old male leopard gecko named Ignis who I might be breeding depending on how big he gets. I've also got a few betta fish, a neon tetra, some african dwarf frogs and a few cory cats. It's pretty much a mini zoo here XD

Always up for new friends, though I am a bit quiet at first, it's nothing personal just shy!

Hi there! I joined Feb 6th and have a premium account (DuelingHawks) and a basic account (SarahLove) I started for my 13 year old daughter but it was a bit above her and she lost interest so I took it over lol.

How long have you liked horses?--since I left the womb. I am blessed to have owned two very special horses in my life. The first was a 4 year old, flea-bitten gray Egyptian Arab gelding my dad bought for me in 1986 for $475. It was right after the tax laws changed and all the rich people dumped their Arabians that were such a trendy money shelter. It was a setup for disaster (him 4 and me 11) except that he had been broke to ride by a real cowboy and he ended up being my real-life unicorn. I got out of horses to go to college, have a family and now at age 44, I have my second special boy--an off-track thoroughbred with 67 starts.

Why did you join HAJ? I saw it on Facebook and was curious--I had NO idea how addicted I would get and so quickly. I had a premium upgrade within two weeks lol.

What kind of pets do you own? My OTTB gelding Vader, a cat's-cat named Pooty, a parakeet and a Pineapple Conure

What is something you are confused about with the game? Getting the hang of it because the veterans have been so helpful!

How long have you liked horses? For as long as I can remember. Eventually, I saved up my money and bought my first pony when I was 12 years old.

Why did you join HAJ? Saw an ad on Facebook and wanted to try it. Love it!

What kind of pets do you own? I live on a small farm, so we have a horse, a donkey, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and at times others. And, I name them all. :)

Hello fellow Februarians!

Is "Februarians" a word? Well, it is now. I have loved horses forever--I used to have a collection of My Little Ponies, and I still have my Breyer collection (although due to space limitations I'm considering selling them). I've never owned a real-life horse, and I think I've been on a State Fair Pony Ride about exactly once.

I've been playing Horse Haven World Adventures on my phone/tablet for almost two years, today was day #711 I think. But that's one of the little-girl games that require you to constantly feed them, race them, and otherwise interact with them, and that gets old. Mostly nowadays I just log in, collect the bonus, set a couple to breed for the next higher tier, and log out.

I saw the ad for HJ2 on Facebook and ignored it a couple of times before deciding to check it out. Once I was here though I rapidly got addicted. I have always enjoyed the science of genetics and creating Punnet Squares, and I just recently finished two terms of Biology at an online University. I poked around, did some reading, created some horses, asked a question on the forum, and made a few friends who joined at about the same time I did. Now I spend so much time here that I'm afraid my wife and my dog are starting to get lonely. /sheepish grin/

I have a double-dapple piebald Dachshund (picture a Dachshund in your mind, and then make it white with brown spots and some white dappling). She was born deaf, but before you say "awww poor thing" let me tell you that this little dog is whipcrack smart. She has learned to read hand signals and is trained for AKC Rally Obedience Competition, although she is restricted from participation due to her lack of functional hearing.

I'm probably confused about a lot of things in the game, and likely don't even know that I'm confused about them. The hidden genes, and how to tell if a horse has them (DP, Snowflake) is really challenging. I've been able to skim over those so far, as I'm not breeding for anything like that. It is really awesome how generous the more experienced players have been, sharing their knowledge and even their stock with us newbies.

Coke or Pepsi? Whichever, preferably with a couple of lemon or lime wedges. But only with dinners out, otherwise, it's water or tea.

What's up, guys? This is only like the second time I've posted in a forum.
How long have you liked horses?
Forever. I've never owned one, though. I used to collect Breyer models. I still have all of them.
I started riding when I was thirteen and rode for about six years before having to stop because I couldn't afford it with my nearly nonexistent work hours and my work hours now can be unpredictable in a good way so I still can't ride because there's no time, plus my riding instructor had to have back surgery and can't do any riding for a while. I rode Quarter Horses. I think one of them might have been a Draft-Quarter Horse mix. Her name was Peaches and she was massive. She was a really sweet horse and kept licking my hand.
Her opposite was Whiskey, an Appendix Quarter Horse. Whiskey was mean. She hadn't been treated well by a trainer, so she lashed out because she was afraid and ticklish. She's the only horse that I was afraid of. I was scared of losing my fingers tacking her up or just brushing her.
Why did you join HAJ?
I had an account probably four years ago. I think? Maybe longer. I don't think I had graduated yet, so it was probably longer. I started seeing ads on Facebook and rejoined.
What kind of pets do you own?
I have a Chihuahua named Leo and a psycho cat named Suzy Q. Leo's a rescue. He was abused before I got him and was underweight. He's like having a toddler with the IQ of Einstein. He's a happy, weird dog now. I've had him about four years. Oh, and he looks like a shrunken coyote or German Shepherd.
Suzy is going on three years of being my evil penguin cat. She has anger problems. She beats up on my parents' dogs and Leo. She bites me a lot. Like, she's fit my wrist in her mouth before. There's never a warning either. She likes tummy rubs and doesn't play with cat toys.

What is something you are confused about with the game?
The papering system. I don't understand it at all and I didn't see it in the guides.

How long have you liked horses?
All my life. I don’t currently own any as my current work schedule and dog activities don’t leave me enough time for a horse right now, but have typically had at least one since I was thirteen (currently I’m 58). Usually had quarter horses as I and later my kids competed in western events although my youngest daughter did become involved in dressage for several years. She currently owns a mustang, an appaloosa, and an appendix bred quarter horse so I am “living” my horse addiction vicariously through them right now. Have also been involved off and on over the years in equine rescue and in advocating for preservation of the mustangs.

Why did you join HAJ? I actually had joined several years ago but didn’t play much.
Rejoined in February as I was looking for something to do in the evenings in my “down” time as I don’t watch a lot of TV and wanted something fun. This game fit the bill. I’m pretty much addicted now.

What kind of pets do you own? Currently own 3 dogs and a cat. Two of the dogs are rescues and are older, large (one is 65 pounds and the other is 55 pounds) mixed breeds, the cat is also a rescue. The third dog is a Miniature American Shepherd that I show in performance events – Obedience, Rally, Agility, Herding, and Barnhunt.

What is something you are confused about with the game? Nothing I can think of off the top of my head right now. After seeing the helpfulness of the community here, I have no doubt that if I needed help with anything, someone would jump in and answer questions/assist.

Hello Fellow February Fanatics!

•How long have you liked horses? From birth. I have a picture of myself on my mom's Shagya arab gelding with my grandpa when I was 7 months old. I started seriously riding and showing by the age of 3 and have never looked back! I think it's easy to say it's ingrained into my very being.

•Why did you join HAJ? When the site had first started, I had attempted to join. For some reason I never could log on nor did I get a verification email so I ended up forgetting about the game. I was browsing facebook and saw an ad. I figured that I could use a time suck for when I was between rides or bad weather days. Turns out, I'm addicted!

•What kind of pets do you own? I have 6 horses, one dog, three cats, 18 chickens, two betta fish, one mystery snail, and a husband--that one requires the most work!

•Looking for new friends? Let us know! I'm always happy to make new friends, they really are what help make this game so special.

•Coke or Pepsi? Neither. I'm a tea, coffee, beer, or water kind of gal. Of course, none them can be simple, though!

How long have you liked horses? I have enjoyed horses through out my life. My grandfather owned horses when I was very young.

Hi, I just recently joined in Febuary, so far am loving the game, I really want to learn about the genetics of color, so many to choose from, at some point I want to learn how to create a horse by changing genes I've seen some beautiful creations on here, but do not understand it, I have a few different types I'm wanting to pursue one being ice pearls, I own 4 real horses 3 are rescues, one a yearling born here, I owned her mother 13 years, she passed away from a Listeria when foal was 2 months, so raised an orphan alone, her mother was an enduranc horsee (Anglo) never turned down a challenge, climb like a goat, i miss her terribly Although Amari is alot like her :)
Been through alot. Lately I guess that's why I indulge myself here :)

I’m really digging this game! It’s so cool because of all the genetics :)
I love horses and all animals. I had horses when I was younger. I enjoyed trail riding and making fun courses for me and my sister in the yard to ride our horses through. I have a herd of pets. 2 Great Danes. 1 Pomeranian. 4 Sphynx cats. 1 munchkin cat. 1 domestic shorthair. A banana ball python and a flock of chickens.

Currently 3 dogs, 1 foster dog, 4 cats, 10 chickens, and 2 guinea fowl. Working on patching fence for pigs/goats/horse.

It will just appear added to your primary barn, you don't need to do anything.
Sometimes people report needing to log out then back in to 'reset' the count, or a short delay, but it will show up.

I just checked, and I'm not even at 300! Nearly 2/3 are show ponies, so I'm happy about that ratio. I am about 230 points away from a 5k a day show bonus! I have no idea how that compares to everyone else, but I am happy with it.

What's the best way to find show ponies? I try looking through the auctions whenever I can, but I feel like I lose bidding wars all the time/can't afford the horses with more points. My strategy has been buying young, high paper & pt studs from the sales list and gelding them, but I know it'll take a long time to pay off

@KaleidoscopeAcre there is usually a few horse with 100 or so points up for sale for 2500-5000 :)

Don’t try for the higher pointed ones, You will lose every time. Stick to the ones that only have 100 or 150 points you get them for a steal. Sort the auction horses by points and then start bidding on the lower end. I usually don’t have any competition that way

@KaleidoscopeAcres, I have a few *star papered studs that I bootstrap breed to foundation mares to make high-PT show babies. It's pretty fun actually because I can create different foundation mares each season to play with colors. Also, creating pasture foals for 500hbs plus testing is cheaper than buying them from someone else, so the pretty studs end up paying for themselves eventually. You can find nice flashy studs in the bootstrap chat pretty easily.

And yeah - the new pointed creates are a nice perk!

I'm past the pointed of pointed creates, although those did help a ton! I did bootstrap this year and got a lot of 11+ PT ponies. So I guess now I just have to be patient and keep looking.

In order to maximize my showing bonus in the shortest amount of time, I auctioned any and all foals that didn't meet my breeding standards/goals and used the money to buy young, high-pointed creates at auction. Foals take up a stall space that could be occupied by a horse already generating 40+hbs a day when even high PT foals take a literal year to do that. Using primarily this method, my daily show bonus is just over 50k a day.

I joined haj because i love horses and i enjoy playing horse games especially ones with real genetics, but haj has been my favorite one yet
