Cloning
-
I was thinking of cloning a gelding of mine.
Never cloned just want to try it.
I did see must LE wont clone.
Im guessing le stand for limited edition.
If so, which ones are they?
Any input to cloning would be wonderful. -
Here's a link to the section of the FAQ that discusses Limited Edition genes.

Also, if you did not breed the horse, you can not clone it.

Considering the expense of cloning, it is probably not worth it to clone a gelding anyway since he would be very unlikely to earn back the 625,000hbs in his lifetime even if he was an extraordinary show horse.I was jllewis on the old forum.

Well, thank you guys for the information. It was much needed

Also @OndowaStables if they did clone a gelding, it wont necessarily be gelded. The clones have different papers, pt scores, etc.. the only thing thats really cloned are the genes/ and size. Even if they do spend that much money on the horse, the only thing that matters is that they like it.
((At least, thats what i got from the cloning page. The clones wont be exactly the same, they wont show the same, etc. So there is a pretty significant chance that the clone would be better. I might be wrong though, and feel free to correct me if i am. )) -
I asked about that and they will have the same quality, therefore same papers, if the original was born before the changes in testing/papering. The clone should be exactly the same (unless it's an older horse from the old testing/papering system).#28036
