I have this Black mare that has Prl but she almost looks like a Grullo

Following because I would like to know too. I'm thinking it may have something to do with those CCs.ID# 24891
Specializing In G1-G7 WBs:
Appaloosa/Leopard Apps, Pearl, Thunderstruck, Watercolor, Snowflake, Kit Promoter (KP), Kit M, Ice, Satin, Nexus, Sooty+, Dense Pheomelanin (DP), Chinchilla, Mushroom, and Wrong Warp. -
The pearl gene does slightly dilute the coat when heterozygous. It doesn't dilute it by much and there seems to be a range, but it does so.
Here are some examples from my liver herd (the herd sire has hom pearl as well as hom dp):
