In Search of White Cob
  • I'm searching for a pure white cob foal close to 13 hands tall, the smaller/shorter the better. Will pay! Doesn't matter if mare or stallion, BUT NO geldings or spayed mares!

Need the name of the foal OR the owner ID number so I can find the foal in the Search Horses tab on the left side menu.
  • I did some searching for you. :) This one will be white eventually, he's gray:

  • Still looking for a pure white cob!

What I mean by a foal, I mean a horse that is only 1 YEAR OLD! Stop offering horses older than that! Also, make sure you offer horses with ALL their information. No bootstrapping and the horse must have all their papers or have gotten all their testing done prior! I want no horses that will become spayed or gelded once I get them if I must do the testing myself! I don't want anyone's scams or bullshit, I'm not getting played for a fool again!

I have 5,500 hb in my hands right now. Does anyone at all have anything for me, anything at all, the shorter the horse's final height the better! I'm looking to breed a line of designer cobs!
  • I'm not sure if you guys realize this, but I'm very serious about this. There's literally NOTHING available on the online market in this game, NOTHING! So I'm reliant on what I find in this discussion.
  • I feel like I need to say something, because I am offended and I hadn’t even offered anything yet! No one is purposely trying to scam you. If a horse does not have certain testing done, either the person does not have access to that testing, is low on funds, or there was a reason the testing was not done, I.e. bootstrapping. No need to get short or snappy, all you need to do is tell the person you are not interested and move on.
  • Also, pure white will be difficult to find, as the genes that would make a pure white foal can be lethal. So, this is most likely a long term goal you will need to work towards in your own breeding. You will most likely have to settle at the start for vey light cream shades.
  • I never meant to sound rude at all, sounds like I need to stop my search, it's no use... :'(
  • It’s not that there is no use, it’s just a hard color to breed for. There are many people that will help you determine what genes will get you your end goal, however. Just ask, and people will help. This is a very giving and helping community, but when things come across rude or short people will be turned off. If you put a post in the “Help Me Out” section asking for help breeding for a certain color, that should get you a lot of good feedback.
  • That's the thing... nobody WANTS to help me! :'(
  • I only have myself, I'm the only one who I can depend on!
  • Well, for a pure white horse, a good HH to look for would be a cream with gray, or a homozygous cream. That will get you a very light base color. You can also breed for a higher WF (white factor), which will cause any kit genes, such as W2 (white 2) and W20 (white 20) to be amplified and cover more of the body of the horse.

I can look through some of the HH today and tomorrow and see if I can create a couple good starting horses for you.

Remember though, the horses won’t be able to breed until they are 3 for stallions and 4 for mares.
  • You said you are looking for yearling cobs, correct?
  • Alright. First off, you are being VERY rude. Incredibly so. You basically called us scammers. Just simply saying "evenly bred/passed BA, and only yearlings please" would have been enough.

Second, "white" isn't a gene in this game. You can get close to white, but not pure white. Grey, hom appy, and dilution genes can all help your goal. Most people who breed bone above 2.5 breed drafts, not cobs. So getting a "pure white" cob will be really difficult to begin with.

So here's an idea. Instead of insulting people and saying "No one wants to help me!", ask people on ways to breed these horses yourself. Look for Cremello HHs, dun HHs, and breed them to a light boy. Use the horse search for different dilutions. Look at the genetics of the horses posted here for a goal.

  • Okay question that's a little off the main topic here...

How do I DELETE this discussion?...
I wanna just, delete this... sweep everything under the rug, lock myself in my small and dark closet and like... disappear for the next 10 years...
  • You can't delete discussions, only Ammit has that power. The best thing to do is stop bumping it and let it fall into oblivion.
  • well that's just great...

    Hello darkness, my old friend...
I've come to talk with you again...
  • I think what you're looking for is very very specific and there's probably very few if anyone whose aiming for that sort of colouration, weight and size in mind. I know there's a few thumbelina lines which specialise in tiny tiny horses but they're open in colour and in weight.

You're probably better off stock piling a few short pale horses or horses with w2 and working from there. There's nothing more satisfying than making your own lines :)

  • That reminds me...

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?!! White 1, White 2, White 3, White 8, White M? WHAT'S SO DIFFERENT BETWEEN THEM?!

    THEY'RE ALL WHITE! :'-(
  • Woooaaah, calm down on the caps. They're different patterns of white. They behave differently.

If you look at the gene guide you'll see how each gene looks.

  • doing a quick search of the genes in the search horse section will give you a good idea of what the different whites are, i would get pictures for you but theres a lot and my wifi is being extremely slow at the minute :)

  • that link did not help at all...

Is white 1 more dominant than white 2 or lower meaning the horses with white 1 genes look more white and have more white than the horses with white 2 genes or lower?! Or is it vice versa? White M more dominant than white 8 or higher meaning the horses with white M genes look more white and have more white than the horses with white 8 genes or higher?
  • i dont think there is a more dominant one to the other, it all depends on what genes the parents pass down to their offspring, each white gene kit gene will show and if there are multiple it can be a very interesting baby to look at. if that helped in any way, again im not too experienced in the game however that is how i took it to be. if someone more expericed could correct me if im wrong id greatly appreciate it :)
  • They are not necessarily more dominant over the other, but some of the white genes, like white 3, white 8, and white m will not be found in create horses. They need to be either GMT’d onto a foundation (create) horse, or you purchase a horse that has those genes already. The expression of the genes will vary depending on which genes the horse inherits, and the White Factor (WF). If the WF is none or minimal, there will be less white than on a horse with a large WF.
  • They are different mutations of the kit gene, cause different patterns of white spotting, and have different risk for a lethal foal when combined with other kit mutations. The kit gene is responsible for a number of necessary functions in fetal development, so if both copies are too badly broken the foal dies before it is born. Here is the link to the thread on kit mutation load and the risk chart: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/13757/new-kit-lethality-and-kit-mutation-load-explained#Item_13

White 1 and 2 are both available from herd helpers and in random creates. Both cause quite extensive white spotting and are fairly risky when combined with other kit mutations.

White 3, 8, and M are only available in the GMT lab for foundations (or by breeding to a horse from a GMT'ed foundation line). They are not cheap, 15 GMTs for W3, 20 for W8, and 40 for M. They cause less extreme white spotting than W1 and W2 and are therefore safer.

  • I breed cobs, and have a lot of them LOL, and I have plenty that look white so would be likely that I have something to suit you. However I still don't really know what you want. Do you want foundations? Even generations? And as said "white" isn't a gene, so there is a mix of different genetics that could look white enough for you, but some of them aren't going to play together too well if you breed them. People will help you but I think you need to calm down and actually let them :)
  • There is this one if you'd like him, I can even add W1 or W2 to him if you'd prefer as I have a spare gmt token I could use. He is a rank special so is the same quality as a perfect foundation
