Profits from Competing

About what generation/Comp level do you start to get back profits for competing, meaning that you are making equal to or more than the comp entry fees?
Only two of my horses are "in the black" and by less than 10 Haji's. I am breeder 9535 if you want to search my horses. I have only been playing for about a month and a half, so i know the new factor is still part of it.
Thanks,

I've been playing since September, and my usual weekly profit is around -3,000. However, my show bonus from points is past 20,000 now. :)

You don't really need to worry much about whether horses are making an individual profit. The important thing is that they are accumulating points. On your Stable Home page at the bottom of the white section it says :
"You earn a ____ hb's weekly bonus from showing.
This week you earned a net profit of ____ hb's.
The net profit is quite often negative, but it's hugely offset (increasingly offset, the higher level your horses are and the more horses you have and the longer you've been playing) by the weekly bonus that is calculated based on how many points total all of your horses have accumulated. -
I show as many horses as I can each week, so my show bonus is higher because of that. As Abbey said, look more at the points a horse earns, rather than profit. I was playing for a long time, before I started being in the plus, instead of minus in net profit. That is because I entered every horse available to enter, even breeding horses. The higher the PT, the longer a horse will show before it levels off.

I still don't get it. How do you add up the points to hbs? I'm alway - been playing a few month's. I have a basic sp it very easy to enter all my horses. Thank for asking this question

At the present time, in this game the conversion rate is about 75% of the total number of points all your horses have gained. Your stable home page keeps a running account of just how many points you have and what your showing bonus would be if the bonus was paid at that time. It will change as more horses are shown during the week.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

You don't the game does. All you have to worry about is your showing bonus which is on your homepage. A lot of weeks my 'net profit' is in the negatives but that doesnt matter.
The more horses you have, the more horses you have to show, the more your weekly show bonus is :) -
Really, the only thing you have to worry about is making sure your horses get showed twice a week, and they will start accumulating points.
Keep an eye on the auction, horses do get unloaded who are higher level and have points already. You can go to the search page, click the "For Auction" radio button, and then go to the Advanced Sort below that and put that on All Time Points. Pick up a few horses that have a jump start on points and that will go a long way toward increasing your show bonus (they start accruing money for you the minute they're in your barn, based on their past points). There are a couple in the auction today who have 100+ points... not a HUGE bonus but if you make a point of picking one or two up in the auction each time you'll get your weekly bonus rolling pretty quickly. -
Thank guys. I get it now. That's for the sale tip Abbey :)
