Please mind the sloppy posts and use proper capitalization/grammar/punctuation.

We have a lot of new members these days who may not know but we require our members to at least make an effort to proof read their posts. Posts have gotten pretty sloppy lately so I am asking members to please write legibly.
This game is for ages 13 and up so members are expected to write like teenagers and adults. Please make sure your spelling looks at least close to accurate, you capitalize your sentences, use punctuation etc. When people write legibly and intelligibly it elevates the quality of discussion, encourages everyone to act more maturely, and prevents confusion and drama.
Thank you.

I assume people for whom English is a second (or third) language will get some leeway in this department? I just don't want anybody to be scared to post on the forum for fear of making a mistake.
-
In 10 years I have never removed someone for making a mistake. Only for flagrant and constant refusal to even attempt typing legibly. I have never even seen someone who was not a native English speaker be an issue. Often they write better then many Americans.
Also in 10 years, there has been only one time in my memory that I had to remove someone. I'm dyslexic so I would never remove anyone for typos. We are talking grade school level literacy only.

I explained all in my signature, but even if people tell me that my English is very good, I make typos and grammar mistakes quite often. When I'm writing posts by phone, sometimes I tap a wrong letter. And it happens that I forget that there's no double negation in English, so sometimes I write, at example, I haven't nothing instead of I have nothing. Sorry, I know it's not a common mistake :)understand the significance of signatures

Yep stuff like that happens. It's not a big deal and I don't think you even need to explain yourself to be honest. You write with care so it's nobody's business if English is your first or 19th language.
This was prompted because I noticed some posters where becoming down right illegible. If I can't even tell what word someone was trying to type then it shows a plain lack of caring. When people don't care what they say to others they stop caring about others.
HJ1 had to have the exact same reminder years ago. Once enough of the population writes legibly and with care then everyone else follows suit. HJ2 is just has a new enough population that where not around for that, that a reminder needs to be made. It was starting to get pretty bad. We don't need a forum full of junk posts bringing down the community atmosphere. :)

I also am in general going to be stepping up the moderation over here on Hj2, it's been running pretty wild and free for some time now and it has taken it's toll on the overall quality of the community. It's time to get things back to our normal super friendly and helpful selves.

I love grammar and punctuation!

Hey guys just wanted to say it's been about a month and I have seen a MASSIVE improvement in the quality of posts. Far less issues, less chat speak, more complete sentences etc. Thank you everyone for your help on this. I appreciate it.
