Snowflake?
-
does this guy carry the snowflake gene? also, what allele would represent whether snowflake is present?
FR1863564 -
Snowflake is a non testable gene.
For Snowflake to show a horse needs 2 copies of the gene and 1 Copy of LP
Varnish spots tend to get confused for snowflake a lot.
Snowflake spots are usually a lot bigger than varnish spots.
All foundation horses have a chance of being het or Hom Snowflake but most gp unnoticed as they may be het or have no LP :)●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

That’s varnish another appy trait. Snowflake is untestable, and only visible when homozygous. Best way to check if you have a snowflake Appaloosa is to see if any horses are eligible to be entered into the snowflake breeders club.
