Being Ruthless Pays Off

You would be proud of me Abbey and Cheers. I was down right horrible and evil to my DP pasture. When all was said and done out of 100 foals only 49 were left standing intact. It paid off though. Look what I got! He even compared AGA the benchmark that I wrote a thread about because I wasn't sure if it was possible for a BM to be to good. This ones a keeper. He's going to need a really awesome name. I'll have to think on that one for a while

And a black chestnut to boot. Congrats!SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES

Yeah, The two stallions in that pasture left me with a good crop of intact boys even after comparing to Rowan BM. I have to many in fact. I'll have to let some go.

Sometimes there's always THIS season! Congrats, he is awesome!
-
Woohoo!!!! It can be so worth it to get really ruthless for a season or two because then you see these sorts of results! He is drop dead gorgeous!Thanked by 1fj1482

He's outstanding! Good work.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

My alter rate last season in this pasture was pretty bad. Switched to new boy and they left me with 12 colts who compared as good as Rowan. Rowan compared aga NYC Spice ASO2, Abbey's colt who compared aga her 2gen benchmark, and aga Icy Star Nex2, Cheers colt who was the best of 30 in her Nex pasture. After picking out my favorite 5 colts to keep I have the rest up for sale. Big difference in quality this breeding season.

Oh my goodness hes amazing! Congratulations!!
-
Thank you everyone. I decided to name him Muldaur after the black gates because his dad's name is Sauron.
-
I got my first black chestnut foal out of my DP pasture this season too :)

Moon he's beautiful too!
I love my flaxen black chestnut boy, but I sure do like these solids too. They seem so much darker than King with his pronounced bronze dapples and his silver flaxen mane and tail...can't wait to see how they grow up! -
Awwwww their cute. I'll cross my fingers for you on papering him. How awesome would that be for both of us to get awesome black chestnuts the same season.
-
Slowly going through my Grullo/App pasture the same way I did my DP pasture. This guy came out the other side intact. Finding a name for him was easy lol

I feel your pain Kassie. I had several at least one last season and I believe three this season including Muldaur. I just keep repeating the mantra "There's always next season". It does really pay off big in future generations.
-
I'm super excited because my colt papered b and compared AGA my benchmark :)
-
Awesome Moon, congrats!
-
Thank you :) I didnt think he was going to so it was a wonderful surprise! lol

I can't wait to see all this pain pay off when these colts are ready to breed and produce my first A papered colt, That will be earth moving exciting.
