Hey There!

Hi, everybody!
I'm Infinite and I used to play before, but things came up and I found myself spending my freetime elsewhere. I've really gotten interested in genetics lately, so I thought now would be a great time to come back!
A bit about myself... um, I'm a drummer looking to play professionally. I enjoy all kinds of rock music, but especially Christian rock (that's the genre I specialize in as a drummer, too). Skillet is my all-time favorite band! I own an off-track Standardbred named Highbeam Rusty N. he was born in New Zealand and raced there for a while before coming to the States to race some more. I just got him in February and he's still a greenbean, but I hope to show in the jumpers and eventing with him. I'm obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog and everything to do with the franchise (my name is actually after one of the newest characters, Infinite the Jackal). I am the parent of a completely spoiled dwarf bunny named Spike, a very food driven guinea pig named Evani, a crazy goldfish named Cato, and a lovebug Lab x German Shepherd named Rain.
I'm excited to meet you all and to dive right into the game! Any tips would be really appreciated! -
Welcome back!
Definitely go through the forum and look through for any information you might need. Or ask any questions you might have.
Start up a show herd look for horses with a decent amount of points these will help you earn money :)
Available to adopt will have two free show ponies for you send them a message! -
Welcome back. I'm not sure how long ago you played, but there have been a LOT of changes and upgrades recently, so please just ask if you have any specific questions.
a search through the Announcements section will turn up some of the changes.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Hi :3

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
I'll definitely be reading through the forums. There are several different things I've noticed so far... but then again, come to think of it, I most likely played on the first server and not this one. I'm not sure if the changes are the same on H&J1 and 2, though. Either way, I'm going to be trying to learn everything I can so I can get off to a good start.
Do horses cost anything, aside from the purchase price and entry fees? I don't want to get in over my head with too big of a herd to start off with.
I'll check out the announcements section! I wouldn't have thought to check there before. Thanks!
Hey, Catco!:) -
Basically, the base price of a horse is 2500hbs. That is how much it costs to create a foundation, and that is also the very same amount that you get when you sell a horse via auction back to the game.
Like MoonAcre said, the best way to make money in this game is to amass a large amount of pointed horses, so that your daily bonus is increased. The amount of money a horse earns you each day is now displayed on their page, however if you want to know that maths it is this:
([points]x0.75)/7
A recent addition to the game is that newer accounts, under a certain amount of points, can create foundations with points, which should certainly help!Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
That's great to know! Thank you! So there isn't any... daily fees or anything like that?
-
No daily fees! Just fees for creating a horse (2500hbs), fees for entering a show (depends on what level, a table can be found under showing -> My Show Entries), "fees" for buying a horse (decided by another player), and fees for breeding. It is 1k to breed a horse in your barn, and 500hbs to breed a horse in the pasture. The longer a mare is in the pasture, the more likely she is to throw her best foals. However you cannot breed to outside stallions while they are in the pasture.
Sometimes, a horse may have an "accident" though. These are usually very small and random. Like this horse of mine for example. click on the horse, and go to it's records tab. Scroll down until you find the damages report. If a horse is costing you too much in damages, sometimes it is best to sell it, although that is rare

Ah, okay! That's great news, haha. Thanks for the explanations!

No problem! If you have any more questions feel free to post in the forum or find the Beginners Barn buddy chat. There's almost always someone around to answer questions, and we don't mind it at all!Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Oh, there's a chat room? Or is it another forum board (I haven't explored the forums too much yet so I probably just didn't notice it yet xD)? Thanks again!
-
There are plenty of chat rooms! You can either find the link at the top right of the page, as a bell icon (for computer). There is also a link under Community -> Buddy Chat. If you upgrade your account, you can place horses up for sale or for breeding in chat rooms, which can make sharing genes easier.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Oh! There they are xD. I don't know how I missed the link under Commuity! Haha, thanks for pointing it out.
