What to do with my studs now?
-
Since I have done sba I have some studs I won't use. I haven't used them yet so should I sell them?
I am happy that I have stallions from each of my lines that passed sba. I lost my upper gen mares and boys from 7g and up. I ran my bootstrap horses through sba and some passed. -
You could show them if they've got good PT? Otherwise, yup, I'd sell them so you have the barn space for future foals.

If you want to sell please post link so I could look though thanks

I am going to make a list of the ones I use that passed. I know I have some I will put up for public breeding but no more than 5 will do that.

I keep my extra stallions and just put them up for public stud. It doesn't make me a fortune but I make a bit here and there. I don't like just gelding them if they've met my breeding standard. I consider them my crayon box. The more colors the better. I may not breed them one month but I might decide to a couple months later.

I would go through, now that some studs are gone, and make sure you have what you need for each line, I try to have two studs per generation for each line, but that is just my preference. Also check to see if you have any boys who will be aging out in a few months and perhaps hold onto a few younger ones till yo have the perfect replacement.
