Exciting new buddy (tiny duck)
-
I've wanted a "miniature" farm since I was a kid, and today I got a little closer! I already have bantam chickens and today I got a call duck! Call ducks are like miniature ducks, they weigh 1-2 pounds. My new buddy is a chocolate boy and I call him Mister Big. I'll post a couple pictures later when I have a chance to upload them somewhere. I plan to eventually have miniature goats again, miniature cows and of course I'll have to have a mini horse. We might even get miniature sheep! I'd call it Lil Bit Farm because we'd have "a little bit of everything and everything is little".#28036Thanked by 1supersarah

I love the idea for the farm name, it’s perfect!! And congrats on your new little duck :)Thanked by 1Haltanny

Aww that's awesome! We raised Dexter cows, myotonic goats, wallabies, miniature deer, miniature donkeys, mini horses, babydoll sheep... And probably a few others I'm forgetting. We also raised English Mastiff dogs. My mom always wanted to call our farm "big paws little hooves"Thanked by 1Haltanny

Haltanny, there used to be a store just outside of Sedalia called Little Bit of Everything. It was GREAT. They didn't have tiny things, but just, well, a little bit of everything!Thanked by 1Haltanny

I used to live in Sedalia, been to that store a few times. It's closed now though. Kinda sad because it was fun to look at all the best stuff they had.
Mr Big is sleeping now, but I'll grab some pics in the morning to share. We got home late, so I put him to bed and didn't want to mess with him too much yet. He had a long day.
I'm trying to convince my husband that a house duck would be awesome, but he's not bitting yet. :-))#28036 -
I lived in Sedalia, too. Little Bit was run by a family friend.
House duck sound necessary to me! Get him a therapy certificate and take him for plane rides!

I always wanted a house Duck. You can buy diaper for them. Hmmm. Gives me an idea. How can the hubby say no if I just bring one home?Thanked by 1Haltanny

Here's Mr Big! He weighs 1.5 pounds. He's in a bird cage, it's temporary, but you can see how small he is. He also needs a bath, but that'll be later today maybe.#28036Thanked by 1supersarah -
Thanks! He's in the house, if you couldn't tell. ;) I'll have to get a pattern and make him a diaper & harness, since he's so small a regular one won't fit.#28036
