Hi my name is Country girl
I'm new to this game
Any advice or pointers would be great -
Welcome! This is a wonderful and addictive game with a great community.
My advice would be to start by reading through the breeding information under Vital Links at the bottom of the column on the left of your screen and also having a look through old forum posts. There are so many options, and there is no one right way to approach the game. Definitely put all of your horses through Gelding/Mare Advice and the Showing Aptitude Test, spaying or gelding as recommended. Train and show all of your horses every week to start racking up some points and start that show bonus building! And any specific questions, please put them up on the forum and we will try to help you out! -
Welcome to the wonderful world of Hunt and Jump. Cheers has given you some great advice. This is a complex and continually evolving game, so don't expect to master it quickly, but with patience and determination you'll soon be building a stable of horses to keep you more than a little busy. :D It's one of the best ways to learn about how horse color genetics work.
A good source for sound starting stock is to visit the Foundation Rescue, owner number 13. Click on Search Horses in the Community section on the left and enter 13 in the place for the owner. You can search for mares or stallions. All the horses in the rescue are perfect foundations, which means that they are the best at breeding and showing that foundation horses can be. They will also always add 3 points to their show score each week when you train them and will have the same score both times you show them in a week. This makes deciding when to show them fairly easy.
We're a very friendly group, so, as Cheers has said, don't hesitate to ask any specific questions you might have. We'll be glad to give you answers.
If you look on the right under Categories, you will see a list of general topics under discussion. "Help me out" will contain lots of questions that have been asked before, and "New Member Introductions" will probably also have answers to questions new players have asked.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
