Well, I Thought Otherwise...
  • I heard somewhere on the forum that foundation mares can't alter in Mare Advice because they don't have a dam to compare against.
Well, this mare just altered out of Mare Advice:

Which means she must have been TERRIBLE. :))
  • I heard the same thing lol that foundation mares wouldnt get spayed in SMA.
  • Was she spayed in MA or SMA? Two different test. Foundation can and do get spayed in MA but SMA compares them to their dam, which foundations don't have.
  • I had some foundies spayed by sma just a few days ago was really sad as they where lovely colours and markings
    :(
  • Oh, I see. It was the normal Mare Advice. :P I haven't had a mare alter by it since I heard it, though, and I've created at VERY LEAST a hundred this week, so she's still reeeaally bad. :P
  • That's weird. I haven't had any spayed by SMA. They must have been really bad.
  • I have also had a couple spayed by SMA this week.
  • Maybe Ammit tweaked it? I've never had a foundation altered by SMA but I have been on a mostly stallion create spree this week.
  • Basic mare advice also compares to the dam. It says so right on the testing page. So if that spayed her I would agree, she was really bad.

  • I've had a fair number of foundation mares spayed by Smart Mare advice. And Charlie has gelded some in Gelding advice. I would guess that there is some horse record that is used to compare the numbers of the new create against. If you click on the links in a foundation's pedigree, it will take you to the image of a horse. Granted they are all the same gelding, but perhaps his breeding score is what SMA and GA use when testing foundation creates. Only Ammit knows for sure, of course, and she's unlikely to tell us.

I have been playing this game for a relatively long time (HaJ1 since January of 2011 and HaJ2 since October of 2013), and when there was only Gelding Advice in the game, I never heard or read of there being no sires for foundation colts to be compared to and I have never ever seen anywhere that foundation mares have no dams to be compared to and so must pass MA and SMA automatically. They may not have a sire and dam that has been in the game, but there must certainly be hypothetical, non-game parents. As closely as Ammit has designed this game to mirror real-life, I can't believe that every horse created in the game has come into being by spontaneous generation.

  • I had a lot of foundie mares that were spayed by MA. I have no upgrade so I can't do the SMA.
    understand the significance of signatures
  • I have never had SMA spay a foundation either. I also have been playing before SMA, and have had a lot of foundation mares spayed by MA. I argee your mare must have been awful.
