At the end of the season all of us look to the future of horses growing up, and ones we might lose. A lot of us look to stallions we plan to use. One of my favorite things is to look at mares that will be old enough to breed next season. Please share 5 mares that are agin up that you are excited about.

I have a few mares with closed genes that I am excited about.

I'm excited for them as my draft thunderstruck is a freaky friday, so all his descendants have frame, so I'm going to cross them with Ice14 boys. (And Visa Versa). Can't wait to see what I get.

Jailee, that pink snowflake is so cute! I only have 15 mares joining the ranks and these are the ones I am the most excited about:

My favorite. I may be odd, but I love how dark buckskin + appy shifting + splash M dilute = antique brass horse. I only have a few this color so I have high hopes.

I have 150 mares aging up to 4 at rollover. These are a few of my favorites. Everyone is already in pasture so they have a good chance of high quality foals!

I have 3 Gold papered fillies from my Bootstrap lines aging up. These are the few fillies who survived my accidental Strict Breeding Advice testing of the foal crop I got when I borrowed the amazing Kintara’s Locomotion for the season. This little girl is my favorite of the three:

This little gen 2 KP girl is from a secret Santa straw I got from Ondowa Stables. Several of her siblings are aging up as well and I can’t wait to see what they throw for my KP herd!

And finally, Moon Acre very sweetly gave me a few Axiom eggs when I bought back into the gene. The homozygous Axiom fillies I got from those eggs come of age this season and this is one of them. I love all her patterns and can’t wait to see her babies!
