Lapisobsidianus Birthday Bash - Horses

So I went through my young foundation stock and found these six beauties that I wouldn't really use. All of them are exceptional in some way, whether it be perfect or producer.
So, to get one of these mares, all you need to do is to tell a funny story! On the 27th (at about 3am game time probably) I'll go through them and pick out my 6 favourite ones!. The story can be about anything. Animals, personal experiences, even a joke you heard from a comedian. After you have done that, list these horses from your most preferred to least preferred (eg 4,2,6,5,3,1).
Here's a format for you all:

Story - My mom and I went to the local hardware store and picked up a few items. She has a tab there and told the clerk, a late teenager to put it on her tab. Considering how often we go to the store he should know her name by now. So he asks which account. She answers and he's like "Did you say your name was Steve Heron." Me, with my weird sense of humor, thought this was hilarious and I loudly said "So your secret is finally revealed! You can no longer deceive me, Steve!" The clerk didn't find it amusing, but I wasn't making fun of him.

We were off to my first big horse show, and had just pulled in to the gate at the show grounds. The man doing check-ins needed to register all the animals, and said he had to count and mark off entered horses and tag-alongs.
Mom got out of the truck and went to open trailer windows so he could count horses, and he stuck his head in to count the dogs in the truck. I was telling him their names, and everybody in the back lifted their heads, including the Mini who was our barn mascot.
When the horse head popped up from the pile of dogs, the check-in guy shrieked and jumped back so fast he landed on his butt! One of the dogs got his clipboard.

My trainer offered me a chance to go to a cross-country clinic with a big-name rider.
I felt like a total misfit, just a kid with my big beanpole gelding, totally out of my league, but Bishop seemed to have switched his brain on and we were keeping up well enough through the morning.
Lunch for the riders, rest for the horses, and it's time to tackle the water! My guy wasn't worried by water, so I wasn't too nervous.
The trainer had everyone trot through first, then come around for another go. No hassle. When our turn came back up, we picked up a nice canter and *splash!* right on in!
Halfway through, Bish hit the brakes, pawed at the water a few times, then shoved his face into the water and blew bubbles.
I died a little that day.

I had some coworkers who were all from overseas. They were eager to have "American" experiences, which weirdly included several chain restaurants. One was Kentucky Fried Chicken.
One day we borrowed a big van, piled in, and drove off to get KFC for supper.
They were out of chicken.
Round two, a visit to a "Chinese" (American take-out style) restaurant.
They were out of rice.
On the bright side, I never get sent to pick up take-out.

I was going about my day, just puttering around the house, and did one of the quick "count noses" checks to see which animals and/or children are currently in the most trouble.
I came up short a dog.
Check yard, no dog. Check bed. Couch? Under bed? Under couch? Kids don't have her. Check your closets! Did she get shut in the bathroom?
No dog. Not in her crate. Gate is secure, it's unlikely she got loose, but where is she?
I'm doing the third lap around the house checking under and behind things, calling, and a bunch of kids walk in. "Do you have her? You need to tell me when you take a dog out!"
Kids stare. One starts giggling. Two. One is shaking his head slowly.
I never checked in the mirror. I'd been hustling through the house, calling the dog, all while carrying her tucked in my arm.

Story Time:
My family is traveling on a train between Madrid and Paris. We're a family of four- me, my elder sister (who was also studying abroad in Spain and majoring in Spanish), my mom, and my god-mom.
We're in a sleeping room that sleeps six (triple bunkbeds on each side of the door) and we didn't upgrade to a private car so there were two Spanish men in the room with us. We had gotten to the room first so we chose the top two bunks on each side (my sister and I on top and our moms in the middle), leaving the bottom most bunk open for the strangers.
When the first guy arrived he tried to talk my mom out of me having the top bunk saying that I was going to fall out (I was 10 years old but I had a bunk bed at home) and how I would be scared, etc. My mom shuts him down fast and he claims the bunk under my mom and I.
When the second guy arrives, things didn't go as smoothly.... He starts (in Spanish) cursing out my god-mom, who is a heavier woman, calling her a pig, cow, any barn yard animal that he could think of, etc.... not realizing that my sister (my god-mom's daughter) can understand every word he is saying.
She calls him out and he gets even angrier and starts in on how the bunk is going to collapse on him because my god-mom is so heavy and how she will crush him in his sleep, so therefore he should get the middle or top bunk. Neither my sister nor my god-mom is having this so they refuse and he grumbles and settles on the lowest bunk, clearly not happy at all.
Here's the kicker: my god-mom falls asleep listening to cassette tapes (this was early 2000s) and as she was changing tapes after the lights went out, the cassette player slips through the crack between the wall and the bunk and hits this angry guy on the HEAD. He probably thought the bunk was crashing down on top of him!
Anyways, we all still chuckle at this every time someone brings up our European trip.

This is a story from a friend who lives in Wyoming. He went into work one morning last September, and all everyone could talk about was "the egg." "Have you seen the egg yet?" they asked him. "No." "Well, go see it in the manager's office!"
Well, sitting on the girl's desk was a giant green emu egg. How did she get an emu egg? "Oh, my emu laid it!" How did she get an emu? Well that's where it gets good.
In Wyoming, there is a road called 17-mile road (no kidding) that goes between two towns. A rancher on this road decided he wanted some emus, so he picked up two mating pairs from the black market, as one does when one encounters the inescapable desire to own a 7-foot tall dinosaur bird with 13cm claws.
One day, there was an accident and one of the male emus escaped and went running off into the wilds of Wyoming along 17-mile road. This was a problem. I mean, just imagine the call someone had to make to the police:
"911, what is your emergency?"
"There's an emu... um... have you ever seen Jurassic Park?"
It took two police departments and the Wyoming Bureau of Indian Affairs a week to track down this 7-foot tall dinosaur bird with 13 cm claws. Sadly, the bird died, but the police tracked it back to the rancher and seized the other three illegally owned emus. They didn't happen to have three plane tickets back to Australia for these birds, and so one of the rescuers, the husband of the manager from the beginning of the story, volunteered to take them home and rehabilitate them.
So he called his wife and told her that he was bringing home three birds to rescue.
Now, the birds that immediately came to her mind were robins, sparrows, maybe peregrines. So imagine her surprise when her husband drives home that day hauling a horse trailer full of three seven-foot-tall dinosaur birds with 13cm claws!
But now that they are in a better home, the emus are apparently very happy, and lay a giant green egg once a month, which is how my friend's manager ended up with one on her desk.

I have done something so very similar, as well as my mum! She's legally blind and so wears glasses. Everything is blurry without them. Well, one day she calls me over to her room and asked me to help find her glasses for her. I look her right in the eyes and agree, and proceed to help search the house. It was only when she looked in the mirror that she found them...she was wearing them! xD

Oddly enough, I have had the top bunk fall down on me while I was below it. Stopped an inch above my head. It certainly was a frightening experience! Although the bunk was rather old.
You'll get your second choice, Number 3

Ha! I say it's the physical manifestation of the "why did I come to this room?" phenomenon. Good to know I'm not alone!
@HTRanch, your story had me in stitches! There was once a runaway emu in a town I used to live in. It was absurd, but I think an emu in the wilderness is less ridiculous, more frightening.
Thanks, ObsidianKitsune! -
Thanks, OK!
Bish may have had a hidden sense of humor, but my trainer said he was just a nitwit. All he really wanted was to Jump All The Things. I liked to think he was brave, everyone else thought he was too obsessed to see the risks.More power! -
Thanks Obsidian! Actually, the guy who used to own our farm had a emu-breeding operation as well... Runaway emu stories follow me like the plague!ID# 43830
